They allow lookup and registration of components. . - geronimo-osgi-locator.jar: Allow performing class and components lookups with OSGi support. . - geronimo-osgi-registry.jar: Facilitate the use of Geronimo specs providers (components typically plugged in to the JRE through META-INF/services resources) like geronimo-validation-1.0-spec (Geronimo JSR-303 Bean Validation Spec API). . The service created by this library will maintain a registry of factory class that can be used by the spec bundles to locate factory classes that reside in other bundles. This package is needed to package geronimo-validation-1.0-spec, which in turn, it is needed to package OpenJPA library and Spring Framework 3.0. -- Miguel Landaeta, miguel at miguel.cc secure email with PGP 0x7D8967E9 available at http://keyserver.pgp.com/ Faith means not wanting to know what is true. -- Nietzsche ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: geronimo-osgi-support Source-Version: 1.0-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of geronimo-osgi-support, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: geronimo-osgi-support_1.0-1.debian.tar.gz to main/g/geronimo-osgi-support/geronimo-osgi-support_1.0-1.debian.tar.gz geronimo-osgi-support_1.0-1.dsc to main/g/geronimo-osgi-support/geronimo-osgi-support_1.0-1.dsc geronimo-osgi-support_1.0.orig.tar.gz to main/g/geronimo-osgi-support/geronimo-osgi-support_1.0.orig.tar.gz libgeronimo-osgi-support-java-doc_1.0-1_all.deb to main/g/geronimo-osgi-support/libgeronimo-osgi-support-java-doc_1.0-1_all.deb libgeronimo-osgi-support-java_1.0-1_all.deb to main/g/geronimo-osgi-support/libgeronimo-osgi-support-java_1.0-1_all.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Which is currently estimated to be the case after squeeze unless Xen dom0 support gets into mainline. I know that upstream stopped development since Steve doesn't use xen-tools (nor xen) anymore. So I'm currently evaluating how much work it would be to get xen-tools back in shape for sid and possibly squeeze (partially by doing some of that work of course :-) -- including looking through all previously open bug reports and taking over upstream development. Bug#583861: RFA: apache2-redirtoservname
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi, as announced last week, I'd like to find a new maintainer for apache2-redirtoservname, which would also come with upstream duties. The package is easy to understand, and ideally suited for a beginner. There is currently one open bug, which is marked serious as the package failed to build on what I perceive as a broken build environment (so I think this is not a bug in the package itself). Other than that, the package is fairly low-maintenance, given that its core functionality works and Apache's plugin ABI has been stable over the years. Documentation could be improved though. Bug#583862: RFA: asio -- cross-platform C++ library for network programming
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi, as announced last week, I'd like to find a new maintainer for asio. The package description is: asio is a cross-platform C++ library for network programming that provides developers with a consistent asynchronous I/O model using a modern C++ approach. It has recently been accepted into Boost. The prospective new maintainer will need significant C++ skills, given that this is a header-only library (i.e. templates and inline functions) with lots of preprocessor use. There are currently two open bugs, both of which require changes to the actual code. As the package also exists within Boost (albeit in a different namespace), it may be worth considering creating a metapackage that pulls in the required packages from Boost and redirects the namespace appropriately; this should of course be coordinated with upstream. Bug#583866: RFA: asterisk-prompt-se
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi, as announced last week, I'd like to find a new maintainer for the Swedish voice prompts for Asterisk. The current package is technically the newest version available, but I doubt that Asterisk hasn't gained a significant amount of new features in the last four years, so several standard prompts may me missing now. The packaging itself is simple, as only a bunch of data files needs to be installed, so it is suitable for beginners. The major difficulty in maintaining the package is that you cannot easily fix problems in upstream's data, given that they are voice recordings -- so apart from packaging technicalities, the central maintenance task is communication with upstream. There is one open bug, related to voicemail prompts; I'm currently unsure whether it is trivial or would require upstream action. The packager should ideally speak Swedish natively, both to verify issues with the package and for easier communication with upstream; also, experience with Asterisk is a major bonus. It should be possible to maintain this package as part of the VoIP team or on your own, depending on your preference; as far as I know, the team does not have a native Swedish speaker, so they can only help with technical issues (their build system is not for the faint of heart, though). No, I'm not familiar with pkg-xfce layout. Any docs? There are short docs on http://pkg-xfce.alioth.debian.org/ But you don't need them as long you just look at the source on people.d.o :) Kartik, how should be proceed? Who wants to be the final maintainer of this one? (I/we[pkg-xfce] could, but don't have to :)) Can we put it under collab-maint (svn or git) repository? It looks that it fits there and we can have more eyes to contribute. svn or git? I'd prefer git :) Corsac, I guess you do not have any strong arguments against moving this out of pkg-xfce, right? :) Regards -- Bruce Schneier can read and understand Perl programs. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. The goal of this specification is to provide an object/relational mapping facility for the Java application developer using a Java domain model to manage a relational database. . Persistence in this context covers three areas: - The API itself, defined in the javax.persistence package. - The Java Persistence Query Language (JPQL). - Object/relational metadata. . The Java Persistence 2.0 specification addresses improvements in the areas of domain modeling, object/relational mapping, EntityManager and Query interfaces, and the Java Persistence query language. It adds an API for criteria queries, a metamodel API, and support for validation. . This package contains only API of JSR-317 spec. Apache OpenJPA and Eclipselink are implementations of this spec. This library is needed to package OpenJPA and EclipseLink, which in turn, they are needed to package Spring Framework 3.0. -- Miguel Landaeta, miguel at miguel.cc secure email with PGP 0x7D8967E9 available at http://keyserver.pgp.com/ Faith means not wanting to know what is true. -- Nietzsche ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec Source-Version: 1.1-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec_1.1-1.debian.tar.gz to main/g/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec_1.1-1.debian.tar.gz geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec_1.1-1.dsc to main/g/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec_1.1-1.dsc geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec_1.1.orig.tar.gz to main/g/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec_1.1.orig.tar.gz libgeronimo-jpa-2.0-spec-java-doc_1.1-1_all.deb to main/g/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec/libgeronimo-jpa-2.0-spec-java-doc_1.1-1_all.deb libgeronimo-jpa-2.0-spec-java_1.1-1_all.deb to main/g/geronimo-jpa-2.0-spec/libgeronimo-jpa-2.0-spec-java_1.1-1_all.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Package: wnpp Severity: RFP Trimage is a cross-platform GUI and command-line interface to optimize image files via optipng, advpng and jpegoptim, depending on the filetype (currently, PNG and JPG files are supported). All image files are losslessy compressed on the highest available compression levels. Trimage gives you various input functions to fit your own workflow: A regular file dialog, dragging and dropping and various command line options. Bug#583943: RFA: udav
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi Due to lack of time maintaining this package (udav) I request an adopter for it. I missed to take well care of udav (and as a strict dependency first the currently orphaned mathgl package). It needs more care as I currently can give to both, as my main interest ist still focused on other packages in Debian, in the Debian Perl Group. It would be best, if someone with more interest in it could maintain it and get back mathgl and udav in a up to date shape for squeeze release (They are both in 'good' shape, but not up to date! udav 0.5.2 0.6.3 mathgl 1.9 1.10.2.1). Upstream (Alexey Balakin) is really interested in getting udav and mathgl into Debian and Ubuntu and helped often really fast on request from my side (specially I can say that from udav point of view). It would be great if someone could take care of udav (but needs too to adopt mathgl as they are closely related). I would also suggest to maintain both under the umbrella of the Debian Science team, thus I'm Cc-ing that list. D. Haley worked too already on mathgl a bit to get it into the debian-science repository and Manuel Prinz announced that he would sponsor the mathgl package if there is somone to work on it (I'm Cc'ing both too directly). Golden dagol...@cpan.org * URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Exception-Class-TryCatch/ * License : Apache Programming Lang: Perl Description : Syntactic try/catch sugar for use with Exception::Class Exception::Class::TryCatch provides syntactic sugar for use with Exception::Class using the familiar keywords try and catch. Its primary objective is to allow users to avoid dealing directly with $@ by ensuring that any exceptions caught in an eval are captured as Exception::Class objects, whether they were thrown objects to begin with or whether the error resulted from die. This means that users may immediately use isa and various Exception::Class methods to process the exception. In addition, this module provides for a method to push errors onto a hidden error stack immediately after an eval so that cleanup code or other error handling may also call eval without the original error in $@ being lost. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.4 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) -- The difference makes the difference. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Clamz can be used to download either individual songs or complete albums that you have purchased from Amazon. Usage: When you buy a single song from Amazon, you have the option to either download it in your web browser (the default behavior) or via the MP3 Downloader. When you buy an album, Amazon gives you no choice: you must enable the MP3 Downloader. To enable the MP3 downloader in the web store, visit the URL http://www.amazon.com/gp/dmusic/after_download_manager_install.html (Ignore all the instructions on that page, of course.) This works by setting a cookie in your browser; it seems to be completely separate from your Amazon account. In any case, when you actually go to download the file(s), if the appropriate cookie is set you will be directed to open or download an AMZ file. This file is basically just an encrypted list of URLs plus additional information (artist, title, and so forth) about the songs. Save the AMZ file somewhere, and run clamz on it; by default this will just download all of the linked files into the current directory. More control over where the files are downloaded and how they are named is available via the command line, as well as the configuration file, ~/.clamz/config. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: clamz Source-Version: 0.4-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of clamz, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: clamz_0.4-1.debian.tar.gz to main/c/clamz/clamz_0.4-1.debian.tar.gz clamz_0.4-1.dsc to main/c/clamz/clamz_0.4-1.dsc clamz_0.4-1_amd64.deb to main/c/clamz/clamz_0.4-1_amd64.deb clamz_0.4.orig.tar.gz to main/c/clamz/clamz_0.4.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#583982: RFP: swftools -- collection of utilities for working with Adobe Flash files (SWF)
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: swftools Version : 0.9.0 Upstream Author : Matthias Kramm, Rainer Böhme, De Clarke. Contact: swftools-com...@nongnu.org * URL : http://www.swftools.org/ * License : GPL, LGPL Programming Lang: C Description : collection of utilities for working with Adobe Flash files (SWF) Copy and paste from its homepage: SWFTools is a collection of utilities for working with Adobe Flash files (SWF files). The tool collection includes programs for reading SWF files, combining them, and creating them from other content (like images, sound files, videos or sourcecode). SWFTools is released under the GPL. The current collection is comprised of the programs detailed below: * PDF2SWF A PDF to SWF Converter. Generates one frame per page. Enables you to have fully formatted text, including tables, formulas, graphics etc. inside your Flash Movie. It's based on the xpdf PDF parser from Derek B. Noonburg. * SWFCombine A multi-function tool for inserting SWFs into Wrapper SWFs, contatenating SWFs, stacking SWFs or for basic parameter manipulation (e.g. changing size). * SWFStrings Scans SWFs for text data. SWFDump Prints out various informations about SWFs, like contained images/fonts/sounds, disassembly of contained code as well as cross-reference and bounding box data. * JPEG2SWF Takes one or more JPEG pictures and generates a SWF slideshow from them. Supports motion estimation compression (h.263) for better compression of video sequences. * PNG2SWF Like JPEG2SWF, only for PNGs. * GIF2SWF Converts GIFs to SWF. Also able to handle animated gifs. * WAV2SWF Converts WAV audio files to SWFs, using the L.A.M.E. MP3 encoder library. * AVI2SWF Converts AVI animation files to SWF. It supports Flash MX H.263 compression. Some examples can be found at examples.html. (Notice: this tool is not included anymore in the latest version, as ffmpeg or mencoder do a better job nowadays) * Font2SWF Converts font files (TTF, Type1) to SWF. * SWFBBox Allows to read out, optimize and readjust SWF bounding boxes. * SWFC A tool for creating SWF files from simple script files. Includes support for both ActionScript 2.0 as well as ActionScript 3.0. * SWFExtract Allows to extract Movieclips, Sounds, Images etc. from SWF files. * AS3Compile A standalone ActionScript 3.0 compiler. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Already in testing. -- The difference makes the difference. ---End Message---
