Bug#579454: Adopting gob2

2010-06-04 Thread Taylor LeMasurier-Wren
I don't if anybody has made an update version of gob2-2.0.17, but I made
a package. I needed to in order to fix a amd64 build bug with some of my
gmpc-trunk packages on Launchpad.net. I figured I share what I with
Debian. I uploaded it to mentors.

http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gob2/gob2_2.0.17-1.dsc

Have a nice day.

Hello Vincent,

Since some time ago, I am packaging all missing dependencies for Spring
Framework 3.0.

>From the list that Damien published weeks ago[1], I completed the packaging
of almost all packages in that list (EclipseLink is waiting for sponsoring),
but I don't know the status of Castor.

Since you indicated that you were interested in Castor I was wondering
if you are packaging it or if you would accept co-maintainance.

I would like to contribute if it is necessary.

Cheers,

The Desktop-Bus prepares applications to communicate with another by the
sending of predefined signals. The process is agnostic about programming
languages, but the collaborating tools need to agree on a common set of
signals and their interpretation.

This package provides the DBus specifications of the SHR software stack,
which sits on top of the freesmartphone.org software stack.

Process these with a dbus binding generator to create stubs for your program.

Bug#584529: RFA: scribes -- simple, slim and sleek, yet powerful text editor for GNOME

2010-06-04 Thread Emilio Pozuelo Monfort
Package: wnpp

Hi,

I don't really use scribes anymore, so I'd like to pass maintenance over to
somebody who uses it and can maintain it better than me.

The package is currently maintained in the Python Applications Packaging Team
(python-apps), but whoever takes it can move it elsewhere if he wants to.

The package description is:
Scribes focuses on streamlining your workflow. It does so by ensuring
that common and repetitive operations are intelligently automated and also
by eliminating factors that prevent you from focusing on your tasks.
 .
The result is a text editor that provides a fluid user experience,
that is easy and fun to use and that ensures the safety of your
 documents at all times.

Cheers,
Emilio

Description: The Lunch Distributed Process Launcher

With Lunch, one can launch software processes on several different
computers and make sure they keep running. This software was created to
suit the needs of new media artists for live performances and
interactive installations.

It provides the command-line lunch utility which can be invoked with a
GTK+ user interface.

Lunch is written in Python with Twisted and GTK+.
See http://svn.sat.qc.ca/trac/lunch for more informations.

Lunch is very useful software for artists and people creating
installation that need to run day and night. It's very easy to launch
software processes on many hosts via SSH with this tool. I had a lot of
fun writing it, and will maintain it in the next few years. There are a
few things that I could do to improve it, but this release is in the
stable 0.2 branch and has not moved much since a few months and we use
it in productions at the Society for Arts and Technology. (SAT) I wrote
many software, but I definitely like this one!

A .deb and the original source can be downloaded from these addresses:

http://svn.sat.qc.ca/trac/lunch/raw-attachment/wiki/WikiStart/lunch_0.2.21.orig.tar.gz

The license is GPL version 2 or above. Same for the packaging itself.
I am the upstream author.

Bug#583597: O: bake -- yet another Python Make replacement

From a rapid inspection, it looks like bake has no package depending or
build-depending on it. It also has a very low popcon score[0] and no
upstream in the last 5 years, and almost (all?) these features can
achieved with other build tools.

Given these details, I'd say that bake didn't fit well in the natural
evolution of make-like tools, and has been superseded by other methods.
Thus, I'd propose its removal.
OTOH I acknowledge the importance of the availability of build helper,
so if you can list a bunch of (not dead) projects depending on it,
it'll be surely enough to keep it.

Cheers, Luca

That's a long (short) description, IMO. "A spacecraft shooter game" would
be enough, I think.
