The current maintainer of libshell-posix-select-perl, Florian Ragwitz
,
is apparently not active anymore. Therefore, I orphan this package now.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Please note that this package is already in the Perl group SVN repository, so if
you want to maintain it, get in touch with that team.

Description: The POSIX Shell's "select" loop for Perl
This module implements the select loop of the "POSIX" shells (Bash, Korn, and
derivatives) for Perl. That loop is unique in two ways: it's by far the
friendliest feature of any UNIX shell, and it's the only UNIX shell loop
that's missing from the Perl language. Until now!
 .
What's so great about this loop? It automates the generation of a numbered
menu of choices, prompts for a choice, proofreads that choice and complains if
it's invalid (at least in this enhanced implementation), and executes a
code-block with a variable set to the chosen value. That saves a lot of coding
for interactive programs -- especially if the menu consists of many values!
 .
The benefit of bringing this loop to Perl is that it obviates the need for
future programmers to reinvent the Choose-From-A-Menu wheel.

Description : Python bindings for 0MQ lightweight and fast messaging
implementation

Python bindings for 0QM. 0MQ is a small, fast, and free
software library that gives you message-passing concurrency
for applications in most common languages.
.
The 0MQ lightweight messaging kernel is a library which
extends the standard socket interfaces with features
traditionally provided by specialised messaging middleware
products. 0MQ sockets provide an abstraction of asynchronous
message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message
filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple
transport protocols and more.

Bug#590629: ITP: mongrel2 -- a small fast web server agnostic to applications and languages

Upstream Author : Zed A. Shaw and Mongrel2 Project Contributors.
* URL : http://www.mongrel2.org/

Description : small fast web server agnostic to applications and languages

Mongrel2 is the complete redesign of the Mongrel web server to be an
application, language, and network architecture agnostic web server. It's
written by the original author of Mongrel, and uses the Mongrel HTTP parser,
but everything else is new. The goal is to create a web server specifically
designed for web applications over serving files.

This software is still under heavy development and it should
not be included in squeeze, but since I'm interested in
several features of this software I plan to prepare and
maintain this package. It would be good if this package
could have some co-maintainers (e.g. current mongrel
maintainers), though so far mongrel2 packaging is very
simple and a preliminar package can be built from
http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/mongrel2.git.

Bug#502451: RFP: megatunix -- MegaTunix is the only tuning software for Unix (and now Win32) class operating systems that supports all existing megasquirt firmwares

2010-07-27 Thread Jeremiah Mahler
As a user of Debian and MegaTunix I believe MegaTunix would make a great
addition.

It is actively maintained by the author of MegaTunix (David J. Andruczyk).
The stability of this program is much improved since the last post
to this bug report in 2008.

It is the only open source Linux based tuning program for
Megasquirt [http://www.msextra.com].

It has already been set up as a Debian package and it builds correctly.

  git clone git://github.com/djandruczyk/MegaTunix.git
  cd MegaTunix
  dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot
  sudo dpkg -i ../megatunix_0.9.22_i386.deb

It is licensed under the GPL (debian/copyright).

See the AUTHORS file for contact info for the author, etc.

One possible minor packaging issue is with version numbers.
Changes are made on the git branch quite rapidly and I am not sure
how this is classified as far as unstable, stable, etc.

Bug#507463: lp-solve DIMACS

2010-07-27 Thread Matthias Kümmerer
 Hello,

I would like to package the lp-solve DIMACS plugin for Debian. You are
listed in the file lp_Dimacs.c as author, thus I write to you. For
packaging for Debian it is very important to have explicit license
statements. The file lp_Dimacs.c is LGPL, but all the other files are
without any license statement. Thus I would like to ask you whether it
is possible to give the other files in
lp_solve_5.5.0.15_xli_DIMACS_source.tar.gz a license statement as well
or include a LICENSE file containing the license for all files.

To start it would even be enough to have a mail with the license
statement. I have prepared such a text for you below. If you like, you
can just send it back to me via mail. In the next release you can
include it as LICENSE file or put it in all files of the release.

Thanks for your help,
  Matthias

I apologize for the delay.

I did some investigation and, yes, it was my fault.
You're right, it provides support only for Ubuntu packages.

BTW, I don't have the time to work on NEW packages, so switching this to RFP.

Cheers

Due to the way memory is allocated by an executable jar, only images
of limited size can be rendered internally if the program if started
by double-clicking the icon. You have to use the command line to
control the memory usage. Also, like the Windows version, apophysis-j
can rely on the standalone flam3 renderer to produce final images."

  Description : Sugar Memorize activity

Sugar is a graphical user interface aimed at children.

Originating as intregral part of the OLPC "XO" a.k.a. the $100 laptop,
Sugar has since grown into a more widely usable low-resource desktop
environment for kids.

The game memorize is about finding matching pairs. A pair can consist
of any multimedia object. At the moment these are images, sounds and
text but this could be extended to animations or movie snippets as
well. Which pairs do match is up to the creator of the game.
Memorize is actually more than just a predefined game you can play,
it allows you to create new games yourself as well.

Bug#119911: draft package

2010-07-27 Thread Trent W. Buck
Please find attached a draft package of the current version of א₁.

For game data, I took a similar approach to flashplugin-nonfree – I
wrote a little script which downloads and extracts games from bungie.

I'm happy to maintain this package in Debian, but I need a DD to
sponsor me and to help me with the first couple of months of polishing
and bug triaging – after that point, I expect it to be a
low-maintenance package that I can handle on my own.

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the twofish package.

The package description is:

This package contains a header file and static library implementing the
Twofish cryptographic algorithm, one of the five finalists in the AES
(Advanced Encryption Standard) competition sponsored by the United States's
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

The main properties of this library are:
 * Free: The library can be freely used for any application. (For details see
the licensing terms and disclaimer in the source code file itself.)
 * Fast: The code has been optimised for speed, at the expense of memory use
   and code size.
 * Easy to use: Care has been taken to make the code easy to integrate into a
larger project. Extensive comments explain how to perform the integration
and how to use the library.
 * Portable: The default code is written in fully portable C. By adjusting
certain macro definitions the user can provide platform-specific code for
certain functions, which can improve the speed.
 * Documented: Extensive documentation is available in the comments of the
source files. This includes information about integration, optimisation
for specific platforms, the library API, and detailed explanation of all
   the code.
 * Self-testing: Extensive self-tests are run every time the library is
   initialised.
 * Large: The code has been optimised for speed, which leads to the use of
large tables. No attempt has been made to minimise the code or data size.

Because the interface of this library has not yet been declared stable by
its author, Niels Ferguson, it is currently available only as a static
library, not as a shared object.
