AFAIK it's a small patch to export handle_mm_fault() to modules. Here's
the corresponding Debian bug report:

There was some work upstream to get MOL into the mainline kernel, but
it seems to have died. Maybe Greg Kroah-Hartman would help, but I
think the interest in MOL is near zero.

I guess part of the missing interest in MOL is the lack of support for
OSX 10.5 - it only supports it up to 10.4. I only found out about this
after I did finish the upgrade process about two years ago, and since
didn't notice any progress on these grounds.

Sorry to see it go nevertheless. Was fun.

Ah, right - that part. Was involved back then in the discussions to get
it applied - so this isn't an issue for within Debian. If we get mol
removed we might though want to tell the kernel team that they can feel
free to remove that patch again if they feel like it.

I don't use this anymore (infact, for some reason projectM does not even
work on my computer anymore), so someone should take it now. You'll need
to update the package to fix a FTBFS (the projectM guys enjoy breaking API
for no reason). Peter Sperl seems like a nice guy though.

Good luck!

(Please note that it takes a lot of work to maintain a package, so don't
take it unless you are serious about maintaining it. Thanks!)

rox-filer seems to be dormant and there's a translation update for Squeeze.

2010-08-13 Thread Sergio Cipolla
Hello.
A while back I translated rox-filer to Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR)
(see: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=558326 ). Now
the Squeeze development is in its final stages and I read that
translations could be included. I sent an email maybe about two weeks
ago to rox-filer's maintainer but got no response.
I read that I could report a bug for rox-filer if it has been orphaned
but I'm not sure of that and also since I'm not much involved with the
Debian way of doing these things I thought it would be better to write
to wnpp's mailing list.
That translation in the bug report, save for the last update, was
included in rox-filer upstream (development repositories). The one in
the bug report has yet a correction and also includes the translation
files for the Wallpaper application-directory (a ROX-Desktop
application) that comes with the Debian package for rox-filer.
So basically I'm writing this in case someone know how to include the
translation in the rox-filer package.

Regards.

If I was you, I would be adapting the software to run with current
CGI::Session (4). The last release of the 3.x series is from 2003 and
as far as I see, upstream doesn't seem to support a separate branch.
The last Debian release with 3.x was sarge.

Alternatively, a tiny emulation module may be appropriate too.

(Include the long description here.)
Ups is a source level C,C++ and Fortran debugger that runs under
X11. Currently supported systems are FreeBSD and GNU/Linux on Intel
x86 and Solaris on SPARC. On these systems it runs native; it is not a
front-end to GNU gdb. An ANSI C interpreter is included; this is built
in to ups to provide conditional debugging and can also be built as a
seperate program.

It doesn't look good for getting UPS up and running again.
A pity! It was such a sweet, and fast, little debugger...

Bug#592877: ITP: apt2 -- Advanced Package Tool 2

2010-08-13 Thread Julian Andres Klode
retitle 592877 ITP: apt2 -- Advanced Package Tool 2
thanks

Let's keep the APT2 name instead of the UPS name. The UPS name is a good
joke, but it's not good for a real program name, because:

  * UPS = Uninterruptible Power Supply
  * UPS = United Parcel Service
  * Ups = a debugger
  * It's a too common name

I think that all in all, apt2 is a known name already, it can be found
easily, it can not be confused with other things.

Description : an Artificial Intelligence Markup Language interpreter for
Python

PyAIML is an interpreter for AIML, the Artificial Intelligence Markup
Language, implemented as a 100% pure standard Python package.

The package is fully compliant with the AIML 1.0.1 standard: no less,
but also no more. PyAIML's focus is (and will remain) bare-bones AIML
interpreting. That means no support for obscure communication protocols,
no advanced non-standard features, and no user interface to speak of.
