Now you can make it with updated jruby package (probably).

There is still some work to get JRuby included in debian/main.
See for exemple, #551618 and #527977
But thanks to you and Torsten work is ongoing :)

Feel free to do it, now I'm not working on this package.
  Go :)

It's not a short term task - I may start working on it shortly after
Squeeze release.

I just wanted to let you know that I've been working on packaging
minidlna for debian. I'm not a maintainer, so I can't upload it myself,

in a git repository git://gitorious.org/minidlna/minidlna.git and
should build without issue by running git-buildpackage.

As it's my first attempt at packaging software for debian, I'm sure it's
not perfect (I'm still working on the man page, and I have to come up
with an init script), so I would be glad to get any feedback on how to
 improve it.

In any case, I hope it'll be useful to someone.

Thanks, I will take a look at this.

I am resigning from my duties as a Debian Maintainer, as my priorities have
now shifted away from work on Linux. All of my packages are on the git
collab-maint. Best of luck to anyone who wishes to maintain them.

libogginfo-ruby is already maintained as part of pkg-ruby-extras.

Regards,
Daniel

Thanks, I will take a look at this.

Great, thanks! In the meantime, I learned about mentors.debian.net; let
me know if I should already upload the package there, or if you prefer
to review it first.

I should also mention that I compiled it in a clean sid chroot on both
amd64 and armel without problem, and that it's been running fine on an
armel squeeze machine for a couple of days.

Bug#596571: ITP: evansdebugger -- Graphical debugger and disassembler for ELF binaries

2010-10-12 Thread Mohammad Ebrahim Mohammadi Panah
Hi,
I would recommend renaming the package to edb. It is a more concise name,
and also it matches other debugger package names such as gdb. Name of edb is
also adopted by Gentoo, Fedora, and probably some other distros.
By the way how is the packaging process going on? What is your estimate for
the time the package will be ready?

I intend to orphan the w3c-markup-validator package.

The package description is:
This is a CGI script which lets you enter the URL of a web page which will
be then checked against a validating SGML parser for conformance to official
W3C recommendations. Pages can also be uploaded.

These are the same scripts that are available on the W3C web site,

Changes:
 w3c-markup-validator (1.1-1) experimental; urgency=low
 .
   * New maintainer rebuilt package from first principles (Closes: #573497)
   * Upgraded to upstream version 1.1 (Closes: #461021 and Closes: #437795)
   * Restricting dependency to apache2 until someone volunteers to do
 integration for other web servers.
   * Changed dependency from w3c-dtd-xhtml and sgml-data to w3c-sgml-lib.
   * Basing apache config fragment on upstream supplied fragment. As a
consequence of this the home page is http://localhost/w3c-validator/.
 (Closes: #456904).
   * Setting version dependency on libwww-perl after investigating taint issues
   * Replacing W3C placeholder logo with customized Debian logo.
   * Restricting support to http. This is a holding operation for #445265.
   * Reviewed and rewrote README.Debian (Closes: #549025).
   * Adding lintian override over inclusion of mootools convenience library.
   * Simplified install scripts as much as possible, though
leaving some abstraction in case there is a need to add support for more
 webservers.
   * Removed dependency on wwwconfig-common.
   * Automatically enable mod_include and mod_rewrite before bouncing the
 server (Closes: #477792).
   * The simplified install scripts mean that translation is no longer
required. In fact the translated text referred to old versions of Apache
that are no longer part of Debian. (Closes: #551185).
