Bug#603116: RFP: libx11-xcb-perl -- perl bindings for libxcb
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: libx11-xcb-perl Version : 0.01_006 (not really released yet) Upstream Author : Michael Stapelberg * URL or Web page : http://search.cpan.org/~mstplbg/X11-XCB-0.01_006/lib/X11/XCB.pm.in * License : Artistic Description : perl bindings for libxcb These bindings wrap libxcb (a C library to speak with X11, in many cases better than Xlib in many aspects) and provide a nice object oriented interface to its methods (using Moose). Please note that its aim is NOT to provide yet another toolkit for creating graphical applications. It is a low-level method of communicating with X11. Use cases include testcases for all kinds of X11 applications, implementing really simple applications which do not require an graphical toolkit (such as GTK, QT, etc.) or command-line utilities which communicate with X11. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#603078: RFP: makepp -- Compatible but reliable and improved replacement for make

It is backward compatible with GNU Make while providing useful extensions: * built in dependency tracker * detecting changes by checksums instead of relying purely on checksums * regenerating targets when the build command changes (e.g. different compiler options are used) * ability to track dependencies across multiple (e.g. subdirectory) makefiles even when originally written for recursive make invocation * ability to separate build directory from source directory even if the the rules are not prepared for it by utilizing symlinks * expands wildcards to list of buildable files, even if they don't exist yet * ordering output from build commands run in parallel * support for filenames with special characters * extensibility via perl code Many of the features apply also to makefiles written for standard make or a makefile can be written to use them that gracefuly degrade when interpreted with other makes. -- Jan 'Bulb' Hudec -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#561963: ITP: hudson -- extensible continuous integration server
Hi Tim After our discussion in September re packaging Hudson I ran a session at the Ubuntu Developer Summit (see [0]) at the end of October to discuss packaging of Hudson for Ubuntu. The session generated a-lot of interest from development teams both within and outside of Ubuntu. Its already being used informally in a number of projects and there is a-lot of appetite to formalise this as part of the platform. The output from the session was that we would package Hudson from source during the Natty release cycle; the objective for this period is to deliver a base Hudson package and associated dependencies with a small sub-set of plugins (also packaged from source) through a Launchpad PPA. I've been assigned this blueprint and I can see it taking up the majority of my time for this release. I want to make sure that the work that we are doing in Ubuntu can be fed back into Debian; It would be good if we could collaborate appropriately to ensure that this happens. Regards James [0]https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/packageselection-server-n-hudson -- James Page Software Engineer, Ubuntu Server Team signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Thanks; I would welcome this collaboration. As you know, the main points to consider for getting this work into Debian will be: * suitability for main: all the jars need to be built from source, and with suitable licensing. * suitability for the security team: embedded code copies are frowned upon if they duplicate packages already in the archive * Debian's release cycle - new packages are no longer a problem, although they might not be accepted quite as quickly until squeeze is released. Updates to existing packages may have to wait if they are new upstream versions. Regards, Tim -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#579859: Is there any progress
Hi, > I see that there is some progress on the git repository. Summary of what I am working on : * There are some embedded code copy used in Clementine sources and this is not allowed by Debian policy [1]. For each of these `cloned` libraries, I must use a official Debian package instead. * Some libs are already packaged in Debian but not all of these. Issues : * Some of these embedded libs have been patched by Clementine developers. So I can not use directly the Debian package instead and I must ask to maintainers if it is possible to apply these patches to there packages. [2] * Some of these embedded libs need to be packaged in Debian. Current state : * I am waiting for review of my sponsor about this situation. > But, when do you think Clementine should be available in the Squeeze > repositories? For the moment, I have no idea when Clementine package will be available in Debian repositories. I will post a complete recap about each embedded libs issues as soon as possible. Best regards, Thomas PIERSON [1] http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-source.html (#4.13 Convenience copies of code) [2] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=600653 signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

There is already another ITP for ocs that is something completly different. Opal-compiler seems like a better choice.
