Bug#604253: RFP: dawgdic -- C++ library for DAWG dictionaries

2010-11-21 Thread Jakub Wilk

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: dawgdic
  Version : 0.4.2
  Upstream Author : Susumu Yata sy...@acm.org
* URL : http://code.google.com/p/dawgdic/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : C++ library for DAWG dictionaries

This project provides a library dawgdic for building and accessing
dictionaries implemented with directed acyclic word graphs (DAWG).

A DAWG is constructed by minimizing a trie as a deterministic finite
automaton (DFA), and thus the DAWG has an advantage in memory usage.

Bug#604338: ITP: libhashish -- powerful and generic hash library for C and C++

2010-11-21 Thread Michael Stapelberg
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libhashish
  Version : 1.0
  Upstream Author : Hagen Paul Pfeifer ha...@jauu.net
* URL : http://libhashish.sf.net/
* License : GPLv2
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : powerful and generic hash library for C and C++

Libhashish is a powerful and generic hash library for C and C++. The library
attempt to combine the best algorithms in this area and take all kinds of
optimizations into account. Furthermore the main focus is applicability - at
least you should use and feel comfortable with this library.
.
 * Built-in key support for char arrays (strings) and uint_{8,16,32} types,
   support for own (possible complex) key data types
 * Support rbtrees as collision strategy instead of bucked lists (avoid worst
   case O(n) scenario)
 * Dynamic or manual adjustable table size (reordering if proportion
   entries/table_size is unfavorable)
 * Iterator support (equivalent to ruby's hash.each() method)
 * Thread clean - fine-grained lock mechanisms (mutex locks, reader writer
   locks, ...)
 * Bloom filter implementation
 * Many built-in hash algorithms (from trivial to cryptographic algorithms)
 * As lightweight as possible - no bloated code

Bug#506040: Status of ceph ITP?

2010-11-21 Thread Clint Byrum
Hi guys,

I'm about to start working on merging 0.23 into Ubuntu, and I'm just
wondering if there has been any progress on adding CEPH to debian before
I do so.

Thanks!

What can I do to help it be in Debian again? I just downloaded this game from
upstream - it works in Squeeze without problems. Please, my son will miss this
game.

  Description : Realtek RTL8192CE driver in DKMS format.

 This package contains Realtek 802.11 Linux wireless driver
 for use with Realtek RTL8192CE-based hardware.

   Why is that driver not in the standard kernel package?

  Because it's not upstream. So the next question is, why is it not
  upstream (in staging)?

  This appears to be scheduled for 2.6.38:
 http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg58284.html
 Message-ID: 4ccd856e.9010...@lwfinger.net
[...]
 It will be very nice if someone is already working and getting this
 driver in staging.

Just as a follow up, the new driver has been posted for review
yesterday:
http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-wireless/msg59559.html
Message-ID: 4ce88170.vctqm4wju1n+oet7%larry.fin...@lwfinger.net

Given that it's already using mac80211, it may pass staging and might
even enter mainline for 2.6.38. I'm sure that Larry Finger would
appreciate feedback regarding it (be aware that it targets current
wireless development code and might not compile against older kernels
without backporting).

 think to close this bug soon and please re-open it if there is still
 need for this package.

Regards
Stefan Lippers-Hollmann

Bug#506040: Status of ceph ITP?

Whoops, I thought it was uploaded a month or so ago, but checking now it
looks like it wasn't. Laszlo was most recently going to do it, but if he
doesn't have the bandwidth Noel also offered to. I'm assuming it's
simpler to base the ubuntu package off what's in debian? I'd hold off a
day or two for that.

Thanks!

  Version : 6.1
  Upstream Author : Gilles Darold
* URL : http://squidclamav.darold.net/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : C-ICAP Service offer Antivirus via clamd

 SquidClamav since version 6.x works as an ICAP service through the
 c-icap server. It is faster than previous v5.x releases and also
 remove old limitation on POST request, sites with sessions like
 webmail and audio/video streaming. The v6.x branch still allow
 chaining squidGuard with high performance.

This Service uses clamd and therefore can be dsitributed within main debian
archive.

As a prerequisit, c-icap =0.1.2 is needed. Currently i worked with the current
maintainer
on an up-to-date c-icap package.
