It looks like both packages have common goals.

 Description : collection of useful extension scripts for ifupdown

This package includes the following scripts extending the ifupdown system
with useful features. All scripts are configured through additional
statements
in /etc/network/interfaces and integrate nicely:

 * addresses
allows multiple addresses to be added to an network device
in a convenient CIDR notation
 * reachable
add additional networks reachable thourgh a configured interface, either
directly or by using a connected gateway
 * conflicts
automatically (de)configures an interface when another one comes up
or goes down
 * pan
connects your computer to an Bluetooth PAN access point
before configuring the interface
 * vpnc
controls a cisco VPN connect through ifupdown
 * wireless-tools-snooze
waits for association with the access point before retrieving
an IP address for the wireless network
 * ifupdown-network
   pm-utils script that shuts down specified network devices during
   suspend and restores them during resume

  Description : minimalistic Netlink communication library

libmnl is a minimalistic user-space library oriented to Netlink
developers. There are a lot of common tasks in parsing, validating,
constructing of both the Netlink header and TLVs that are repetitive and
easy to get wrong. This library aims to provide simple helpers that
allows you to re-use code and to avoid re-inventing the wheel.

The main features of this library are:

Small: the shared library requires around 30KB for an x86-based
computer.

Simple: this library avoids complexity and elaborated abstractions that
tend to hide Netlink details.

Easy to use: the library simplifies the work for Netlink-wise
developers. It provides functions to make socket handling, message
building, validating, parsing and sequence tracking, easier.

Easy to re-use: you can use the library to build your own abstraction
layer on top of this library.

Decoupling: the interdependency of the main bricks that compose the
library is reduced, i.e. the library provides many helpers, but the
programmer is not forced to use them.

Whatmask can work in two modes. The first mode is to invoke Whatmask
with only a subnet mask as the argument. In this mode Whatmask will
echo back the subnet mask in four formats, plus the number of useable
addresses in the range.

To use Whatmask in its second mode execute Whatmask with any ip address
within the subnet, followed by a slash ('/'), followed by the subnet
mask in any format. (e.g. 192.168.0.23/255.255.255.224, or
192.168.0.23/27)

Whatmask will echo back the following:

* The netmask in the following formats: CIDR, Netmask, Netmask
  (Hex) Wildcard Bits
* The Network Address
* The Broadcast Address
* The number of Usable IP Addresses
* The First Usable IP Address

Bug#578469: Turpial package

Hi Miriam!

I just wanted to know if maybe you are interested in
sponsoring the package prepared by Efrain Valles.

Since a couple of months I began to contribute with that
packaging effort and now I think it is practically ready
to be included in Debian.

Maybe you could be interested to take a look at the package
that I prepared (95% of the work was done by Efrain). It
is available at my alioth space:

http://alioth.debian.org/~nomadium-guest/debian/unstable/turpial_1.4.9-a26-2.dsc
http://alioth.debian.org/~nomadium-guest/debian/unstable/turpial_1.4.9-a26-2_all.deb

If you are still interested in this package, we would be
glad to be comaintainers.

Let me know what do you think.

Bug#607161: ITP: haskell-listlike -- Generic support for list-like structures

2010-12-14 Thread TANIGUCHI Takaki
Package: wnpp
Owner: tak...@debian.org
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: haskell-listlike
  Version : 2.0.1
  Upstream Author : John Goerzen
* URL or Web page : http://software.complete.org/listlike
* License : LGPL
  Description : Generic support for list-like structures
 Generic support for list-like structures in Haskell.
 .
 The ListLike module provides a common interface to the various Haskell
 types that are list-like. Predefined interfaces include standard
 Haskell lists, Arrays, ByteStrings, and lazy ByteStrings. Custom
 types can easily be made ListLike instances as well.
 .
 ListLike also provides for String-like types, such as String and
 ByteString, for types that support input and output, and for types that can
 handle infinite lists.
