It currently supports intuitive (a simplified Pascal-like syntax), MathML and LISP as input formats and lots of different output formats (among the others: LaTeX, HTML, MuPAD, Mathematica, Maple, Maxima, gnuplot, Java, C, MathML and LISP). Formconv is mainly used in mathematics web applications to check the input syntactically and convert it to various formats in order to work on it by other programs: CAS or other mathematics tools. Bug#502305: Temporary packages for ulogd2
Hi (and merry Christmas), Now that libnetfilter-log has been uploaded to sid, I can now work again on the packages for ulogd2. I've uploaded my current packages for ulogd2 at this location: https://www.wzdftpd.net/downloads/ulogd2-deb/ I've rewritten the packaging from scratch, it was easier, (the packaging stuff is almost empty). I've not taken the previous changelog / authors / uploaders etc., but it's part of the things I want to do. The plan would be to upload to experimental, but before doing that, can you check the packages and tell me if you agree with the current ones or have any comment ? Bug#424905: Uploading MAME to Debian
Hello ! If you think having a dedicated MAME group/project is important, I can ask for one. If you think you can live with the Debian Games repository, that's ok also. I'll ask for a pkg-mame project after sending this email, in the meantime. I wrote one month ago to the alioth admins to request an admission in Debian Games but got no reply. So pkg-game is great in the mean-time. I guess we have to show some (working, preferably ) code to get admitted in the team. So, what's the current status? Come on, I need to build a new mame box for our house in the mountain! :P We were discussing the topic yesterday with Ludo ( well not the topic of your house on the mountain but the mame package :) We have three issues still open on our bug tracker (http://indefero.shaperstudio.com/p/mamedeb/issues/) and we thought we would send the package to you or mentors.debian.net once they get resolved. Your help / feedback is welcomed on those ! -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#424905: Uploading MAME to Debian
Hi! Great to hear from you! Let's get this done (ie, let's discuss what's missing): On Mon, Dec 27, 2010 at 05:33:27PM +0100, Emmanuel Kasper wrote: I wrote one month ago to the alioth admins to request an admission in Debian Games but got no reply. So pkg-game is great in the mean-time. I guess we have to show some (working, preferably ) code to get admitted in the team. Ok. In any case, this isn't a blocker. The package can live outside alioth for it's initial upload if necessary, and we can move it in as soon a suitable group is created. We have three issues still open on our bug tracker (http://indefero.shaperstudio.com/p/mamedeb/issues/) and we thought we would send the package to you or mentors.debian.net once they get resolved. Your help / feedback is welcomed on those ! I see. 11. Comment out Mame rom downloading or move it in a separate package I think this is release critical. My opinion is: - move this stuff to mame-roms-free (if free means libre; if the licences are “free beer”, then I'd go for mame-roms-nonfree or just mame-roms) - get rid of debconf entirely, if you install the mame roms package, you will not get any kind of questions whether the files should be downloaded or not. The postinst will always try to do it. The package description will warn about this. (flashplugin-nonfree is an example of a package that does this). - add a Suggests: mame-roms-free to the mame package. I think this is the easiest and cleanest way of doing it. We should think if mame-roms-* should be in a separate source package, or inside mame's. The latter would make the mame-roms get installed every time there's a new mame version, while it's highly improbable the free roms will ever change again. I think it should be a separate source package, but that's up to you. 12. dpkg-shlibdeps sends warning This isn't critical at all. Using --as-needed is generally a good idea, unless it breaks things. I don't think it would break anything, but in any case, we can go ahead without this fix and add it in the future, if wanted. It's probably a trivial fix anyway. 9. Review what is needed to be sent upstream ( and send it ) This isn't release critical either. Of course, we should be doing it ASAP, but it doesn't block the upload in any way. I'm more than happy to sponsor the first upload! Which reminds me of a recent debate on how to have more bug reports: on this topic I really wish we had *less* bug reports overall, but more useful ones. Since you point this to a list that might be interested for a more thorough picture, here it is: in squeeze, the gnome-session package now depends on the basic components that are actually needed for running a GNOME session. Since this change was made, I hadn’t known what to do of gnome-core, as it had became obsolete. The size issue of fitting GNOME on the first CD gave an obvious answer to what this metapackage should become. So in short: * gnome-core = GNOME installation designed to fit on one CD * gnome-desktop-environment ≈ GNOME as defined by upstream * gnome = full GNOME installation for the default installation If you are skilled enough to consider that the existing metapackages don’t suit you and you need something lighter, you are also skilled enough to install the needed packages by hand. kthxbye, -- .''`.
