Bug#544499: dropbox-nautilus
Hi Adnan, On Thu, 02 Sep 2010, Adnan Hodzic wrote: Alice, I still don't see this package inside of Debian (it's been exactly a year now), if you don't mind I'd like to take care of this package myself. Alice retitled the bug into RFP so she's no longer interested in creating the package. Given that an alternative dropbox got removed from non-free recently, would you like to go ahead with this package ? (see http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=610257) I would be happy to sponsor it as I use dropbox. Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Charles Plessy ple...@debian.org Package name: sra-sdk Version : 2.0.0rc1 Upstream Author : National Center for Biotechnology Information (U. S. A.) URL : http://trace.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Traces/sra/sra.cgi?cmd=showf=softwarem=softwares=software License : Public domain (U. S. A. governmental work) Programming Lang: C Description : utilities for the NCBI Sequence Read Archive Tools for reading the SRA archive, generally by converting individual runs into some commonly used format such as fastq. It also includes sources to loader tools that are still under test. The intention is to give pre-release access to the reader code. . The textual dumpers sra-dump and vdb-dump are provided in this release as an aid in visual inspection. It is likely that their actual output formatting will be changed in the near future to a stricter, more formalized representation[s]. PLEASE DO NOT RELY UPON THE OUTPUT FORMAT SEEN IN THIS RELEASE. . The help information will be improved in near future releases, and the tool options will become standardized across the set. We will also be providing documentation on our web site. . Tool options may change in the next release. Version 1 tool options will remain supported wherever possible in order to preserve operation of any existing scripts. I will first upload to experimental until a final release is published. There will be 3 binary packages: sra-toolkit with the binaries, sra-toolkit-libs0 with the runtime libraries, and sra-toolkit-libs-dev for developers. I understand that having one package per library is ideal, but the number of different libaries is quite large: /usr/lib/libwkdb.so.1.1.2 /usr/lib/libkproc.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libsra-schema.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libvdb.so.2.0.4 /usr/lib/libkq.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libksrch.so.1.0.2 /usr/lib/libkfs.so.1.0.2 /usr/lib/libkdb.so.1.1.2 /usr/lib/libwvdb.so.2.0.4 /usr/lib/libksproc.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libkfg.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libkxml.so.1.0.2 /usr/lib/libwsradb.so.3.0.1 /usr/lib/libklib.so.1.1.0 /usr/lib/libsrareader.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libsradb.so.3.0.1 This said, if a more experienced developer would still recommend me to make one package per library, I will. I checked with upstream and these libraries are intended for public use (although given that they are recent, there is no known third-party using them yet). Please keep the bug CCed on replies :) Date: Thu, 20 Jan 2011 12:01:38 +0100 From: David Paleino da...@debian.org To secure-testing-t...@lists.alioth.debian.org Cc: 304...@bugs.debian.org, iucul...@debian.org Subject: Embedded code in prospective package (Code::Blocks) Hello, I'm working on the codeblocks package, ITP #304570. However, it embeds some external sources, which in some cases were modified to suit C::B's needs. Here's the list, in the format described in embedded-code-copies. tinyxml: - codeblocks itp (partial embed) mozilla_chardet: - codeblocks itp (embed) squirrel (a scripting language, not in Debian): - codeblocks itp (embed) astyle: - codeblocks itp (embed) depslib (part of the Perforce Jam buildsystem): - codeblocks itp (embed) scintilla: - codeblocks itp (fork) wxscintilla: - codeblocks itp (fork) Would it be ok to upload it to NEW with the above? All the embedded code is part of various plugins, and they need to be compiled at the same time. I'll wait for a reply before uploading to NEW. Kindly, David -- . ''`. Bug#610653: ITP: dmtcp -- Checkpoint/Restart functionality for Linux processes
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: ka...@ccs.neu.edu * Package name: dmtcp Version : 1.2.0 Upstream Author : Kapil Arya ka...@ccs.neu.edu * URL : http://dmtcp.sourceforge.net/ * License : LGPL Programming Lang: C, C++ Description : Checkpoint/Restart functionality for Linux processes DMTCP (Distributed MultiThreaded Checkpointing) is a tool to transparently checkpointing the state of an arbitrary group of programs spread across many machines and connected by sockets. It runs directly on the user binary executable, without needing to modify either the user binary or the operating system. Among the applications supported by DMTCP are OpenMPI, MATLAB, Python, Perl, and many programming languages and shell scripting languages. Starting with release 1.2.0, DMTCP also supports GNU screen sessions, including vim/cscope and emacs. With the use of TightVNC, it can also checkpoint and restart X-Windows applications, as long as they do not use extensions (e.g.: no OpenGL, no video). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#608284: RFS: xhtmlrenderer (new package, needed to package Grails)
On Thu, Jan 20, 2011 at 2:12 AM, tony mancill tmanc...@debian.org wrote: In lieu of a new upstream release, an email from the upstream clarifying the license for those files could be added to debian/copyright would probably be sufficient. Another option would be to drop the files under ./test/ in a DFSG version of the tarball. Andrew Ross did this recently for another package I sponsored. Hi again Tony, As you may already know, upstream answered very quickly my email, so I committed the change adding a clarification to the copyright file. You can review it at http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-java/xhtmlrenderer.git;a=commitdiff;h=a0d814abbf1abc2a5f831803307fb1ba74bd8903 Let me know if that is acceptable to upload xhtmlrenderer. Bug#599727: Review of the copyright file of peg-solitaire_1.0.2-1.
user debian-le...@lists.debian.org usertag 599727 one-copyright-review thanks Dear Innocent, In the hope of speeding up and strenghtening the processing of NEW I had a look at your package. The rationale is explained in the proposal in the following wiki page: http://wiki.debian.org/CopyrightReview I have not found explicit copyright or licence statement that would be missing from your debian/copyright file. However, I looked at the contents of the images directory, and it appears that most of them are missing their source, as they were made as a vector graphics with Inkscape. See for instance edit-redo.png $ exiftool edit-redo.png ExifTool Version Number : 8.15 File Name : edit-redo.png Directory : . File Size : 1019 bytes File Modification Date/Time : 2011:01:21 09:17:40+09:00 File Permissions: rw-rw-r-- File Type : PNG MIME Type : image/png Image Width : 22 Image Height: 22 Bit Depth : 8 Color Type : RGB with Alpha Compression : Deflate/Inflate Filter : Adaptive Interlace : Noninterlaced Significant Bits: 8 8 8 8 Software: www.inkscape.org Image Size : 22x22 In my personal opinion, it would be necessary to include their sources in your package to strictly conform with the DFSG. If you picked these icons from a collection, you need in addition to credit their author and check that their license is compatible with the GPLv3, and of course document this in debian/copyright. Bug#599808: Module failture on some archs
flum, After some time of testing I got a bit closer to why this module does not work on some archs: The module uses the refence implementation in nealry unchanged from to do the calculation itself. The problem is that the refrence implementation is buggy. It does not caclulate the same result on a given string for all archs. I also discovered another problem (see #610254): Refence implementation uses wrong casts on big endian systems and triggers FTBFS. This may apply to this module as well. (I'm not sure.) Before this module is packaged upstream should be contacted (I Cced him in this mail) and asked to fix or replace the code used from refrence implementation. -- Philipp. (Rah of PH2) signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part
Bug#610673: ITP: techne -- programmable physical simulator and renderer
Package: wnpp Owner: tak...@debian.org Severity: wishlist * Package name: techne Version : 0.2 Upstream Author : Dimitris Papavasileiou dpapa...@gmail.com * URL or Web page : http://www.nongnu.org/techne/ * License : GPL-3 Description : programmable physical simulator and renderer Techne is a general purpose, programmable physical simulator and renderer. It reads in a set of scripts wherein every aspect of a physical system is specified and then proceeds to simulate and render the system onscreen. This is the general idea. The main goal is to decouple computer programming, in its involved low-level form at least, from digital art creation, shifting effort away from worrying about graphics library quirks and memory allocation and towards understanding and modeling the physical and aesthetic aspects of a given system. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
