Bug#598045: hotot Debian package

2011-03-20 Thread Julien Valroff
Hi,

As I have been working on packaging hotot for my own use, I take over this
ITP, but would appreciate help for maintaining and testing this.

Cheers,
Julien

Bug#609278: progress on Unity?

2011-03-20 Thread Jon Dowland
Hello,

Has there been any progress on this ITP?

I was surprised to see that unity was missing from
http://wiki.debian.org/Ayatana/Packages, and there's essentially no discussion
on pkg-ayatana-devel at all...

Bug#613986: Status?

Hey Michael,

 Quite future-proof, isn't it :-)

As such, debian/copyright doesn't seem to be 100% accurate as it only states
copyright years up to 2009. While you're at it, would you mind updating
 debian/copyright to DEP-5?

Right, there is an inconsistency on the web LICENSE file and the LICENSE
in the tarball. I'll check with Armin.

I'd prefer if you could fix those minor issues instead of risking a REJECT by
ftp-master. Then I should be ready to upload the fixed version at almost any
time unless Lars would prefer to sponsor it.

I have re-uploaded the package now and converted copyright to DEP-5 and
fixed a missing DEP-3 header in runlim-renaming.patch:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/r/runlim/

thx and cheers,
TK

Has this changed? I don't think so, as the removed version equals what you
stated in your ITP.
If the reasons which lead to the removal are still valid I'd argue against a new
snes9x package (please note, that there are other emulators for SNES AFAICS).

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libzeromq-perl

Description : ZeroMQ2 wrapper for Perl

The ZeroMQ module is a wrapper of the 0MQ message passing
library for Perl. It's a thin wrapper around the C API.
0MQ is a small, fast, and free
software library that gives you message-passing concurrency
for applications in most common languages.
 .
The 0MQ lightweight messaging kernel is a library which
extends the standard socket interfaces with features
traditionally provided by specialised messaging middleware
products. 0MQ sockets provide an abstraction of asynchronous
message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message
filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple
 transport protocols and more.

Should this ITP be renamed accordingly ?

Description : ZeroMQ2 wrapper for Perl

The ZeroMQ module is a wrapper of the 0MQ message passing
library for Perl. It's a thin wrapper around the C API.
0MQ is a small, fast, and free
software library that gives you message-passing concurrency
for applications in most common languages.
  .
The 0MQ lightweight messaging kernel is a library which
extends the standard socket interfaces with features
traditionally provided by specialised messaging middleware
products. 0MQ sockets provide an abstraction of asynchronous
message queues, multiple messaging patterns, message
filtering (subscriptions), seamless access to multiple
  transport protocols and more.

Bug#619035: RFP: libzeromq-perl -- ZeroMQ2 wrapper for Perl

2011-03-20 Thread Bernd Zeimetz
Hi Nicholas,

This module does not seem to have a very good test record.
 http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=ZeroMQ+0.09

Have you been able to install it from CPAN on a Debian system?

didn't give it a try yet. I had expected it to work as it is the language
binding which is linked from zeromq.org. I'll poke upstream about it unless you
have any other suggestions.

Thanks,

Bernd

I don't think this should be packaged. Debian already offers a
certificate store provided by the ca-certificates package in
/etc/ssl/certs, in a form that can be consumed by modules and libraries
based on OpenSSL.

If this is required as a dependency, the depending package should be
patched (possibly to support more than a single CA) or this package
should only be a stub to the Mozilla CA in ca-certificates.

In the case of LWP::UserAgent, setting SSL_ca_file to
/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt or SSL_ca_path to /etc/ssl/certs
should work. Then it will support all certificates the local
administrator has enabled.

I request an adopter for the bogl package.

The package description is:
Ben's Own Graphics Library is a small framebuffer library,
including basic widgets, support for text in multiple
 languages, and mouse handling.
 .
This package contains bterm, a UTF-enabled framebuffer terminal.

I haven't had a setup where I could test bogl in a long time, nor have I
worked with d-i (the only significant user of bogl). Ideal would probably
be someone who wants to assist with d-i.

I can provide a Subversion repository containing the recent history of bogl
to any adopter.

Is this really appropriate for Debian's purposes? I would think that
using ca-certificates is probably better since not only are the
certificates already in PEM format but the administrator can choose to
add, remove, enable, or disable certificates in one central place.

Object::Tiny is a Perl module for building classes as simply as possible. It

you build modules.
