Like: Unnecessary comments are removed. 4/ I tried the GUI, and it seemed vaguely working, that's enough for me. But where exactly in the Gnome menu did it install??? I added herculesstudio.desktop, so Hercules Studio can be found at System or System/Simulator now. Thanks for these changes. It was mostly cosmetic (apart from the .desktop which was really missing...). And I've push my changes to git.d.o, you can check it at: git://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/herculesstudio.git Thanks and Regards, That's great if you use Git, I maintain all of my packages this was as well. But next time you ask for sponsorship, please fill the Vcs-Git and Vcs-Browser fields of debian/control accordingly. As the Vcs-* fields were not blockers, I did upload the package to SID for you. Please correct this in your Git for the next upload. :) Thanks for your interest in Debian, and for your work. I am now confident that you deserve the DM status, and I can for sure vouch for you, in a more definitive way that I did on my first message. Great, works here, thanks. Someone else started the supercollider packaging (on ubuntu) and he had reasons for going with --install-sandbox. He is bcc'ed here - Artem please send me (or deb-mm) a mail if you have objections. I'll merge that branch into master, and send the change upstream (for inclusion in 3.4.2). Remember to include the change in master as a patch instead of directly modifying SConstruct! Ping? Thanks for the nudge - now committed. Any feedback welcome - this was the first time I used quilt properly ...and now SC 3.4.2 has been released on the same day. So I've imported it into the git (3 patches no longer needed, hooray) - all testing and feedback welcome. Looks like you didn't actually merge the upstream branch into master but instead imported the new tarball as a new commit. I used git-import-orig, surely that's the right thing to do? http://honk.sigxcpu.org/projects/git-buildpackage/manual-html/gbp.import.html#GBP.IMPORT.NEW.UPSTREAM Hmm, it seems to have done a broken import. Did it actually succeed in the merge? Yes it did. If there's anything I should do that can fix this, please let me know. There will be a version 3.4.3 out fairly soon (3.4.2 has a regression!) so I'll need to know how to import it right. Also, please push the upstream tag too. Ah, sorry, now done. I'm sorry for having been pretty rubbish; real life has just been *so* crazy in the last few years :-( Comments on the version in collab-maint (following a very brief glance at postinst): - don't use sudo in the maintainer scripts; there's no guarantee it'll be installed; it runs as root, anyway, so you can just do a plain chmod. - the install/upgrade directories are chmod +x early on, but this is not undone in the abort-* or * targets; also, the upgrade directory is never locked again - is this correct? Simple graphics commands are also translated to SVG images. ASCIIMathML is designed to be very easy to use and mimic to a great extent the way that one would use to type mathematical formulas by means like e-mail. This makes its use especially suited for teachers and instructors of disciplines based on Mathematics that want to use an eletronic medium (like, for instance, a blog or a web forum) with students and still not be encumbered with difficult, non-intuitive, non-standard notation for formulas. A more Web 2.0 description of ASCIIMathML could be: a JavaScript to convert ASCII math notation (and some LaTeX) to Presentation MathML while your webpage loads. Now also simple graphs are translates to SVG. It's use is simple and only a single include in an (X)HTML page is needed for the use of the library. --- This would really rock to have when using a ikiwiki wiki/blog to typeset mathematics. See the examples in the homepage of the author. It can hold any number of arpeggiator, sequencer, or LFO modules running in parallel. . Arpeggiator modules produce sequences depending on the notes sent to their input port, which is typically connected to a keyboard or another sequencer. . Step sequencer modules allow to create simple linear, monophonic and globally transposable sequences similar to the first analog sequencers. . MIDI LFO modules independently produce MIDI controller data of adjustable waveform, time resolution, amplitude and duration. . For each module, an input note filter is available, and the output port and channel can be set independently. Since the modules use a common sequencer queue, they are automatically in sync with each other. QMidiArp works with an internal tick resolution of 192 ticks per beat. The queue can be synchronized to an incoming MIDI realtime clock or as a JACK transport client. Most of the relevant control elements are accessible via MIDI controller through a MIDI-learn infrastructure. QMidiArp also has a log tool displaying the history of incoming MIDI events in colors depending on their type. QMidiArp is based on the Qt4 toolkit. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: qmidiarp Source-Version: 0.3.9-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of qmidiarp, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: qmidiarp-dbg_0.3.9-1_amd64.deb to main/q/qmidiarp/qmidiarp-dbg_0.3.9-1_amd64.deb qmidiarp_0.3.9-1.debian.tar.gz to main/q/qmidiarp/qmidiarp_0.3.9-1.debian.tar.gz qmidiarp_0.3.9-1.dsc to main/q/qmidiarp/qmidiarp_0.3.9-1.dsc qmidiarp_0.3.9-1_amd64.deb to main/q/qmidiarp/qmidiarp_0.3.9-1_amd64.deb qmidiarp_0.3.9.orig.tar.bz2 to main/q/qmidiarp/qmidiarp_0.3.9.orig.tar.bz2 A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Hmm, I usually just call git-import-orig on the tarball and all the magic is done. I'm not sure what could have gone wrong. If 3.4.3 will be out soon, then maybe we can let this one go and do the 3.4.3 on right instead. On to more general comments: - Shared libraries have to be on a package of their own. See policy section 8. For this package it means we need new binary packages called libsclang1 and libscsynth1 with the shared library. The .so symlinks should go in the dev package. - Is the sc-common-dev and sc-dev split really necessary? - Add yourself to th Uploaders field. -- Saludos, Felipe Sateler -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#622137: ITP: pvcam-dkms -- kernel module for Photometrics Coolsnap ES camera
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Bas Wijnen wij...@debian.org * Package name: pvcam-dkms Version : 4.1.0. Upstream Author : Bas Wijnen wij...@debian.org * URL : None yet, hopefully soon on http://alioth.debian.org. * License : GPL Programming Lang: C Description : kernel module for Photometrics Coolsnap ES camera Photometrics/Roper Scientific is the producer of the Coolsnap ES camera for scientific measurements. They provide an unsupported driver for GNU/Linux, consisting of a closed-source library and source for a kernel module. The module doesn't compile on modern kernels, so I fixed it and maintain the fixed version. I have also written some tools to make use of the library. An overview: - The kernel module is free and maintained by me. It has an interface which is only documented by its source. Since the only user of the module is the library, it should be considered an undocumented interface. This makes the module suitable for contrib. - The library which they provide as a binary. It is broken because it doesn't have a SONAME and includes libm, but it does work. This obviously has to go into non-free. This library is like many C libraries: the program needs to take many steps even to do simple things. - Because of this I wrote a daemon which allows simple commands to just work. This daemon uses a public interface to applications which want to do measurements. I may also write a different back-end at some point, which uses any video4linux(2) device instead of the Coolsnap. Even better would be to change the kernel module to turn the camera into a v4l device itself, but that doesn't seem feasable at the moment. - While the daemon is controlled over a textual interface through a network port, which makes it very suitable for scripting, I also wrote a simple graphical program to use it. At the moment I don't have a license to distribute the library, but they do have it available on their website. Until I get a license (I don't think they'll have a problem with that, they don't have a don't distribute license, they simply have no license at all), I can let the postinst download the file and install it. This ITP is about the kernel module. I'll file separate reports for the library and the tools. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Hercules Studio is almost the first package I made for Debian, most work were done in July 2010, but every thing related froze from then until recently I made a hercules NMU to enable external GUI support. I'm very very glad that it finally uploaded to Debian. As the Vcs-* fields were not blockers, I did upload the package to SID for you. Hmm, I usually just call git-import-orig on the tarball and all the magic is done. I'm not sure what could have gone wrong. If 3.4.3 will be out soon, then maybe we can let this one go and do the 3.4.3 on right instead. OK, well I'll do it the same way when 3.4.3 is out, but I'll do a test run and try to make sure the commits are as expected before pushing! On to more general comments: - Shared libraries have to be on a package of their own. See policy section 8. For this package it means we need new binary packages called libsclang1 and libscsynth1 with the shared library. The .so symlinks should go in the dev package. OK, done this, but lintian tells me: W: libsclang1: package-name-doesnt-match-sonames libsclang1.0.0 W: libscsynth1: package-name-doesnt-match-sonames libscsynth1.0.0 Not sure what to do from here, whether the package name needs the decimals (yuck) or the soname needs to lose the decimals ( do we then need another soflink libsclang1-libsclang1.0.0)? - Is the sc-common-dev and sc-dev split really necessary? It has a purpose: sc-dev is the dev files for working with the language API, which would be irrelevant for someone doing work with the server (e.g. a plugin). However, it might be worth thinking about lumping them all together since after all it's just some header files - I'll mention it to the devs and see what we think. - Add yourself to th Uploaders field. Dear ftp-team (CC. relevant bug report and package maintainer) Recently, a package named khtmlib (java script library related to openstreetmap) was uploaded and is currently in NEW. In the archive, we have a libkhtml5 package (KHTML web rendering engine) I think the names is at least very close to be confusing, and I would like to draw the this to your attention, so that you at least are making a informed decision about package names in the archive. My personal suggestion would be to get khtmlib renamed, in debian, and preferably also upstream. /Sune -- How could I rename a computer of the controller on a utility from the control preferences inside Flash? Bug#622172: ITP: git-hg -- Script to track mercurial repositories in git
AFAIK Sverre Rabbelier was hoping to bring remote-hg to some conclusion by the end of last year so it could get approached git mainline, but that hasn't happened yet unfortunately :-/ Thus, in the absence of proper remote-hg, I would vote for having fast-export based workaround available meanwhile.
