Bug#640027: ITP: openslide -- library to read virtual slides
I updated the control file to: OpenSlide is a C library that provides a simple interface to read whole-slide images also known as virtual slides. . Whole-slide images, also known as virtual slides, are large, high resolution images used in digital pathology. Reading these images using standard image tools or libraries is a challenge because these tools are typically designed for images that can comfortably be uncompressed into RAM or a swap file. Whole-slide images routinely exceed RAM sizes, often occupying tens of gigabytes when uncompressed. Additionally, whole-slide images are typically multi-resolution, and only a small amount of image data might be needed at a particular resolution. . This library currently supports: -Trestle (.tif) -Hamamatsu (.vms, .vmu) -Aperio (.svs, .tif) -MIRAX (.mrxs) -Generic tiled TIFF (.tif) . It was intentionally made for use with tint2 panel in the openbox environment to be launched upon clock click, but of course it will work without it. In fact, binding the gsimplecal to some hotkey in you window manager will probably make you happy. The thing is that when it is started it first shows up, when you run it again it closes the running instance. In that way it is very easy to integrate anywhere. No need to write some wrapper scripts or whatever. Also, you can configure it to not only show the calendar, but also display multiple clocks for different world timezones. -- .''`. It provides a very convenient API for extracting and manipulating data, using the best of DOM, CSS, and jquery-like methods. . jsoup implements the WHATWG HTML specification (http://whatwg.org/html), and parses HTML to the same DOM as modern browsers do. . * parse HTML from a URL, file, or string * find and extract data, using DOM traversal or CSS selectors * manipulate the HTML elements, attributes, and text * clean user-submitted content against a safe white-list, to prevent XSS * output tidy HTML . jsoup is designed to deal with all varieties of HTML found in the wild; from pristine and validating, to invalid tag-soup; jsoup will create a sensible parse tree. Mira can be seen as a Swiss army knife of sequence assembly developed and used in the past 12 years to get assembly jobs done efficiently - and especially accurately. That is, without actually putting too much manual work into finishing the assembly. MIRA started in 1997 as a PhD project at the German Cancer Research Centre in Heidelberg (Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum Heidelberg). Binaries were always distributed publicly and over time, other labs and sequencing providers have found MIRA useful for assembly of extremely 'unfriendly' projects containing lots of repetitive sequences (as always, your mileage may vary). In 2007 MIRA changed the license to GPL v2. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Many thanks to all who were involved at various stages... This API allows peripheral control, such as managing audio, backlight brightness, LEDs, Vibrator, Accelerometer, and power control for devices without dedicated controlling daemon. It can deal with charging notification and RTC, forwarding button events and notifying about the system's idleness status. This package is part of the freesmartphone.org software stack and is targeted for smartphones. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: fso-deviced Source-Version: 0.9.5+git20110805-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of fso-deviced, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: fso-deviced-dbg_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced-dbg_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb fso-deviced-player-canberra_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced-player-canberra_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb fso-deviced-player-gstreamer_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced-player-gstreamer_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805-1.debian.tar.gz to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805-1.debian.tar.gz fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805-1.dsc to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805-1.dsc fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805-1_amd64.deb fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805.orig.tar.gz to main/f/fso-deviced/fso-deviced_0.9.5+git20110805.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. This implementation is developed from scratch, following the latest specification of the protocol (DAP 2.0 Draft Community Standard 2005/04/27) and based on my experience with OPeNDAP servers on the wild. . Using this module one can access hundreds of scientific datasets from Python programs, accessing data in an efficient, transparent and pythonic way. Arrays are manipulated like normal multi-dimensional arrays (like numpy.array, e.g.), with the fundamental difference that data is downloaded on-the-fly when a variable is sliced. Sequential data can be filtered on the server side before being downloaded, saving bandwith and time. . The module also implements a DAP server, allowing datasets from a multitude of formats (netCDF, Matlab, CSV, GrADS/GRIB files, SQL RDBMS) to be served on the internet. The server specifies a plugin API for supporting new data formats in an easy way. The DAP server is implemented as a WSGI application (see PEP 333), running on a variery of servers, and can be combined with WSGI middleware to support authentication, gzip compression and much more. ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: pydap Source-Version: 2.2.6.7-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of pydap, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: pydap_2.2.6.7-1.debian.tar.gz to main/p/pydap/pydap_2.2.6.7-1.debian.tar.gz pydap_2.2.6.7-1.dsc to main/p/pydap/pydap_2.2.6.7-1.dsc pydap_2.2.6.7.orig.tar.gz to main/p/pydap/pydap_2.2.6.7.orig.tar.gz python-dap_2.2.6.7-1_all.deb to main/p/pydap/python-dap_2.2.6.7-1_all.deb A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. Bug#640167: RFP: openssn -- A modern submarine tactical simulator
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist OpenSSN is an open source (GPLed) submarine tactical simulator for modern submarines. The game attempts to balance realism with ease of use. At this time the game is playable with a handful of missions and several different types of ships. I would like to see OpenSSN included in the Debian distribution. The source code for the game can be found at http://openssn.sf.net OpenSSN has the following dependencies: SDL SDL_mixer SDL_gfx SDL_image Thank you, Jesse jessefrgsm...@yahoo.ca -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#466542: RFS: task-spooler

I have used it before and found it pretty useful. Some comments - you miss Gentoo Foundation as copyright holder for the ebuild files - your version number is odd. If your package is ready for upload (in your opinion) it should have a version like 0.7.0-1 - I have a vague memory of this being discussed before, but I can't find the discussion now. As far as I can tell, there are several ways in which the socket setup could be improved. - I don't really understand why the permissions on /tmp/socket-ts.$uid are group and world readable. - having the socket in world writable location makes ts vulnerable to a denial of service attack. wouldn't it be better to put the socket in a mode 0700 directory e.g. in the users home directory?
