Description : Implements MapReduce operation on top of standard MPI
message

The MapReduce-MPI (MR-MPI) library is open-source software that implements the
MapReduce operation popularized by Google on top of standard MPI message
 passing.
 .
The MR-MPI library is written in C++ and is callable from hi-level langauges
such as C++, C, Fortran. A Python wrapper is also included, so MapReduce
programs can be written in Python, including map() and reduce() user callback
methods. A hi-level scripting interface to the MR-MPI library, called OINK, is
also included which can be used to develop and chain MapReduce algorithms
together in scripts with commands that simplify data management tasks. OINK has
its own manual and doc pages.

MapReduce-MPI is currently a convenient library shipped within VTK 5.8

Description : Web-based file sharing system

FileTea is a simple way to send files among different users.

FileTea is installed in a machine accessible by all peers using a web
browser, and anyone can select files and let others download them
right away.

Its features include:

  * FileTea is only used to route the traffic. No data is stored in
the server.
  * There's no limit to the size of shared files.
  * No user registration is needed.
  * It works in networks with proxies, firewalls, etc., as long as all
users can reach the FileTea server with a web browser.

Description : utility to program Wouxun dual-band handheld radios

Open Wouxun (OWX) is a portable, open-source, command-line utility
designed to program Wouxun dual-banders under any modern UNIX
operating system. It supports KG-UV2D, KG-UVD1P and possibly other
radios that identify as KG669V (such as Navcomm TK-890, Midland
TK-790, Albrecht DB-270, Dynascan DB-48 and other brands).

Utility has five functions. They are used to:

- check radio connection
- download binary data from radio
- upload binary data to radio
- export human-readable spreadsheet from binary data file
- import edited spreadsheet into existing binary data file

Binary data contains everything that can be changed in the radio - all
settings, channels, current modes of operation etc.

Guacamole is an HTML5 web application that provides access to your
desktop using remote desktop protocols. A centralized server acts as a tunnel
and proxy, allowing access to multiple desktops through a web browser; no
plugins needed. The client requires nothing more than a web browser supporting
HTML5 and AJAX.

Guacamole would require additional source packages for different
components.

Hi,

musique is the new name of minitunes which is in unstable and testing at
the moment. I maintain it myself.

Unfortunately, upstream changed the name of minitunes to musique and
released a new version 1.0, a version number that minitunes already had.

Since minitunes never entered stable, I think I'll just introduce
musique to Debian and ask for the removal of minitunes. I'll spare
myself any replaces/conflicts/meta-package dance. Any objections to
this?

Hauke

Description : HTML5 web appi to access remote desktop

Guacamole is an HTML5 web application that provides access to your
desktop using remote desktop protocols. A centralized server acts as a tunnel
and proxy, allowing access to multiple desktops through a web browser; no
plugins needed. The client requires nothing more than a web browser supporting
HTML5 and AJAX.

Guacamole would require additional source packages for different

Description : HTML5 web appi to access remote desktop

Guacamole is an HTML5 web application that provides access to your
desktop using remote desktop protocols. A centralized server acts as a tunnel
and proxy, allowing access to multiple desktops through a web browser; no
plugins needed. The client requires nothing more than a web browser supporting
HTML5 and AJAX.

Guacamole would require additional source packages for different
components.

  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : small clojure library

To use this very small clojure library, add [local-file 0.1.0] to the
dependencies list in your project.clj file. Then call (use 'local-file) or
use local-file in your (ns...) macro call in a clojure source file.
 .
To get the current clojure project's directory (the parent dir of the source
dir) call project-dir with no arguments. The file* function takes a relative
path and returns an absolute path relative to the project directory.
 .
To read and write files in a clojure project's directory, use spit* and slurp*
with the same signatures as the standard spit and slurp calls.

Ping, discovery and telnet tools for connecting to Mikrotik RouterOS devices,

Telnet deamon is able to receive connections from other computers on the same

This makes a easier job for human error prone network administrators.

Bug#648067: RFP: Password Safe - Simple Secure Password Management

2011-11-08 Thread ilf

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: passwordsafe
  Version : 3.27
Upstream Author : Rony Shapiro ro...@users.sourceforge.net
* URL : http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/
* License : Artistic License 2.0
  Programming Lang: Java
Description : Simple Secure Password Management

Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products,
commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file,
allowing you to remember only one password (the safe combination), instead of
all the username/password combinations that you use.

What makes Password Safe different? Three things:
1. Simplicity: Password Safe is designed to do one thing, and to do it well.
Start the application, enter your combination, double-click on the right
entry - presto - the password is now on your clipboard, ready for pasting.
2. Security: The original version was designed and written by Bruce Schneier -
'nuff said.
3. Open Source: The source code for the project is available for inspection.

Bug#502305: ulogd2: Status of package?

2011-11-08 Thread Pierre Chifflier
On Thu, Nov 03, 2011 at 04:36:31PM +0100, Nils Olav Fossum wrote:
 Hi,

I just wonder if there is any news on getting the ulogd2 package into debian.

Hi,

Thanks for raising this bug report .. I had tons of stuff to do, and
left the ulogd packages for too long.
I have started again some work here.

Could it be uploaded to experimental as a first?
That way it should get some testing..

Indeed.
The libnetfilter-log problem is now resolved (version in unstable is
ok). The main problem remains the upgrade path (if any) from ulogd.

I need ulog2 on a handful of machines now, so I started with the files at
 https://www.wzdftpd.net/downloads/ulogd2-deb/

I used instructions from Jim Barber
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=502305#73
(thanks, that saved me a lot of research time!)
to build the package on a amd64 wheezy machine.

The build failed at the end creating ulogd-output-pcap_2.0.0~beta4-1_amd64.deb
 It could not find usr/lib/ulogd/ulogd_output_PCAP.so*

This is caused by the multiarch changes in libpcap-dev.

I applied some of the patches from upstream, but that did not help.

In the end I cheated, and just commented out the line
 usr/lib/ulogd/ulogd_output_PCAP.so*
 in debian/ulogd-output-pcap.install.
Not a real fix of course..

I have solved this issue here. Part of the fix is to use:

override_dh_auto_configure:
,,,dh_auto_configure --
--with-pcap-lib=/usr/lib/$(DEB_HOST_MULTIARCH)

in debian/rules.

Regards,
Pierre
