Even more TODOs: it only builds against xqilla 2.2 series - which is not available in unstable as of mid december. Either upstream plans to move to a newer version, or it has to be ported, or statically linked, or just not packaged. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

Bug#657028: RFP: gcc-4.3 for Debian wheezy
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: gcc-4.3 Version : 4.3.6 Upstream Author : many * URL : http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.3/ * License : GPLv3 Description : The GNU C Compiler version 4.3 Debian wheezy currently has packages for gcc versions (at least) 4.4, 4.5 and 4.6. Version 4.3 is conspicuously missing (see bug #650238 which is closed as wontfix), and specifically version 4.3.6 does not appear to have ever been packaged by Debian. This is a serious problem, because gcc-4.3 is the one used to compile the kernel on Debian squeeze (package linux-headers-2.6.32-5-686 depends on it). This means it is simply impossible to compile kernel modules for Debian squeeze from Debian wheezy. It seems pretty disastrous that support for old gcc versions does not extend as far back in time as the version used for the kernel in the immediately previous version of Debian. -- David A. Bug#590180: Patches for Flightcrew to use system libs when available
Hi John, As promised in my previous mail, here is a set of patch to make flightcrew use system libs and to allow installing flightcrew and XercesExtensions as a shared library. Note that the 11th patch also allows building zipios as a shared lib. I'm not using this atm since zipios is only used by FlightCrew itself and not by Sigil. Bug#590180: Patches for Sigil to use system libs when available
Hi John, Short self intro: I'm a Linux enthusiast / developer. One of the things I do is package various software for Fedora. I also recently got an ebook reader, and as such got interested in Sigil. I've read: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=590180 So I know that you've already been contacted about packaging Sigil for Linux, and how most Linux distributions have a policy against using bundled libraries inside applications. I was happy to read that you're willing to take patches to make Sigil build in such a fashion, on the condition that this would be configurable. As such I've created a patch set building on top of the work by Dan Horák (in the CC) which I believe builds on top of the work of Kan-Ru Chen (in the CC). With this patch set Sigil can be built using just src/tidyLib and src/Sigil, for all other parts system libraries are used. cmake's auto detection features are used to determine whether to use a system lib, or the bundled copy. These patches are on top of the just released 0.5.0. I hope you are willing to integrate them into Sigil's next release. Thanks Regards, Hans p.s. Note that these patches also add support for using a system wide installed copy of FlightCrew (and the XercesExtensions), since FlightCrew is a separate project this seemed to make sense. I'll send you a separate patchset to make flightcrew use systemlibs and to allow installing flightcrew as a shared library. Creating a new HTTP connection for every request involves an extra TCP round-trip and causes TCP congestion avoidance negotiation to start over. Bug#657083: RFA: aspic -- Line art generator
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the aspic package. The package description is: Aspic is a program that generates line art images from a text description of a picture that contains commands such as line, box, circle, and arc. Aspic's concept is similar to the pic command. Output is either encapsulated PostScript, or Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). Quite complex pictures can be constructed from Aspic's primitives, which include facilities for positioning text alongside graphics, and the use of colour. Upstream is Philip Hazel, of Exim and PCRE fame. I've packaged it because it is a build-dependency for the documentation of the pmw package; but other than that I have no vested interest, and it might therefore be better served by someone who actually uses it. It's a fairly small and straightforward piece of code, and is therefore a good choice as a first package. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#642335: Subject: RFS: qjoypad
I don't intend to sponsor this, but here is a review: Patch stuff is fugly. The package FTBFS in pbuilder, I think you want dh --buildsystem=qmake and a build-dep on libxtst-dev. debian/README.source doesn't appear to be true. Please ask upstream to remove the bogus configure file or fix it so it works. Upstream README.txt contains installation/requirements info, please get them to split that out into README.install. How about a longtitle and icon in debian/menu? Please forward the manual page and desktop file upstream. You might want to get upstream to install the application icon to: /usr/share/icons/hicolor/res/apps/qjoypad.png If you do that, then the Icon field in the .desktop file should read Icon=qjoypad (notice no absolute path and no extension). You can remove all the comments and blank lines from debian/watch. According to tineye.com, the first image (gamepad{1,2}-*x*.png) is on a number of websites, so I doubt the qjoypad authors created it or have permission to use it. The second one doesn't seem to be from the web but I guess the same applies. http://www.tineye.com/search/ba8b24f1e22dbfcfb9b4f2da7eb32654f42233b8/ The Vcs-Browser URL gives me a redirect. lintian complaints to fix: P: qjoypad source: unversioned-copyright-format-uri http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep5 I: qjoypad source: debian-watch-contains-dh_make-template P: qjoypad: no-upstream-changelog A warning from qmake to forward upstream: WARNING: doc.path is not defined: install target not created Some warnings from GCC to forward upstream: error.h:8:13: warning: 'void error(QString, QString)' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] error.h:21:13: warning: 'void debug_mesg(...)' defined but not used [-Wunused-function] joypad.cpp:251:6: warning: unused parameter 'fd' [-Wunused-parameter] layout_edit.cpp: In member function 'void LayoutEdit::setLayout(QString)': layout_edit.cpp:105:42: warning: comparison between signed and unsigned integer expressions [-Wsign-compare] main.cpp: In function 'int main(int, char**)': main.cpp:150:49: warning: suggest braces around empty body in an 'if' statement [-Wempty-body] -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
