Bug#553311: python-ldraw

Does this help to clarify the matter, or are we discussing other files as well? I don't really remember the issue with the pieces library, but being text files doesn't automatically equal to being the source code. I need the preferred form of modification, and I need to be able to build it. I hope to have a look again at leocad during the weekend. Kindly, David -- . ''`. Bug#616131: ITA: LSB package maintenance in Debian
Hi all again, first, thanks to Steve and Jeff for the straight answers! I have now pushed my git repository to collab-maint/lsb.git [0], including the following branches: - master with all past Debian releases - master-ubuntu with all past Ubuntu releases (that I could find) - pristine-tar with all past Debian and Ubuntu tarball footprints All past releases are properly tagged using either debian/${version} or ubuntu/${version}. I have also done some work on the package on a separate branch (which includes tiny-dh, dh_python2, LSB4.1, some bug patches, dropping Qt3, etc): - master-experimental-odyx For now, I tested this package by creating a changelog with `git-dch --multimaintmerge --ignore-branch --meta`and defining the version as `4.1~Debian0` (which is a properly native version). I would appreciate a review of my `master-experimental-odyx` branch, including Acked-by/Signed-off-by additions and cherry-picking on another branch (or master). As far as I can tell, most of the Ubuntu diff (besides Multi-Arch as of now) are merged to my branch. [0] http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=collab-maint/lsb.git Le 16.02.2012 19:02, Jeff Licquia a écrit : FWIW, this has been something the LSB has been discussing upstream, and we're willing to help with the work. If the project is willing, I'd appreciate having commit access and being an uploader. Jeff: while I have no call as project (as I just RFA'd lsb), I would certainly welcome any help. As the git repository is on alioth's collab-maint, as DD you already have commit access. Feel free to add yourself as uploader during your review of my code changes. :- I would like to upload lsb to experimental before the end of February, eventually postponing bug resolutions. Uploading a good-working LSB 4.1 package before the end of March to unstable sounds realistic to me. Cheers, OdyX signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Bug#660354: suggest to move frozen-bubble to debian-perl team
Hello joss frozen-bubble 2.212 available on CPAN [1] use Alien::* stuff which is a bit scary. packaging Alien::SDL was not fun. As far as I know, all its dependencies are available in Debian. Although libalien-sdl-perl may be missing some runtime dependencies. Otherwise, I'd suggest debian-perl team to adopt this package as some synchronisation may be required between frozen-bubble and sdl perl stuff. On my side, I can put frozen-bubble package back into shape on behalf of debian-perl team, but I won't have time to triage all the bugs left against frozen-bubble. Bug#654924: Fwd: Re: TigerVNC 1.0.90 src debs
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, Joachim's work is much better than the hacked packages I have put together. Sorry I still haven't been able to use this as a base to provide better/newer versions. The reason is that despite a number of important shortcomings in the packages I have put out, they do what I need them to do... so there isn't much of an incentive for me to spend more time fighting with packaging issues. You probably want to keep the tigervnc list informed so that the newer/better packages can be linked from their homepage instead of mine. I am afraid that those builds are hacked using bash scripts and are probably wrong. See the recent discussion about how Xvnc should be build against the host headers rather than using the build-xorg script which is in the source. Bug#660849: RFA: tremulous -- Aliens vs Humans, team based FPS game with elements of an RTS
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I request an adopter for the tremulous package. I claimed it for the Games Team instead of NMUing it, but I don't actually play Tremulous (or other multiplayer-only games) myself, and it could really do with a real maintainer. I would recommend maintaining it in the Games Team (X-Debbugs-Cc'd). I've also cc'd the former maintainer in case he's interested in this package again. I have done an upload today to fix long-standing security vulnerabilities; there may be more undiscovered vulnerabilities, since it's basically a very old fork of ioquake3. One bug that should be fixed as a relatively high priority by any new maintainer is the embedded copy of libjpeg, #589407; for now I've put in a Lintian override to get the security fixes into the archive, but it should be fixed properly. ioquake3 could be useful as a basis for this. Note that Tremulous has not had an official upstream release since 2006. The upstream website publicizes both 1.1.0 (the 2006 version we have) and GPP1 (Gameplay Preview 1), essentially a beta version of Tremulous 1.2, which might in fact be more popular than 1.1.0 by this point, and is what is shipped in Fedora. See #559652. Perhaps someone who's in touch with upstream could sort this out... The package description is: Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based First Person Shooter (FPS) game with elements of a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like a Real Time Strategy game. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. Other structures provide automated base defense (to some degree), healing functions and much more... . Player advancement is different depending on which team you are on. As a human, players are rewarded with credits for each alien kill. These credits may be used to purchase new weapons and upgrades from the Armoury. The alien team advances quite differently. Upon killing a human foe, the alien is able to evolve into a new class. The more kills gained the more powerful the classes available. . The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. This is achieved by not only killing the opposing players but also removing their ability to respawn by destroying their spawn structures. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#604174: Status of mysql-workbench [RFS]
Hi Dmitry, 2012/2/22 Dmitry Smirnov only...@member.fsf.org: Dear Mateusz, I missed your reply regarding mysql-workbench as of 20 Feb 2012, Three days ago I did a review of what we have and decided to start a serious new packaging attempt. That's a pity, because since then I have put some effort into polishing the package. It was not beautiful to begin with and some issues have risen after the last upstream update (the pkglib_data autoconf issue). Nonetheless my package is still not lintian clean. [cut] You you want to try new package please grab its source (dget -ux) from http://members.iinet.net.au/~onlyjob/mysql-workbench_5.2.37+dfsg-1.dsc What do you think? Shall we work together? Sure. Your package is much cleaner and you've managed to deal with bundling tinyxml, which I was unable to do. Feel free to take over the ITP if you want to. It seems that your packaging skills are better than mine, so it could prove quite educating for me to work with you. If you're not ok with this please say so. I have requested collab-maint membership on alioth so we could co-maintain the package there. Have you considered maintaining the source package with git-buildpackage (and friends)? Bug#660354: suggest to move frozen-bubble to debian-perl team
Hi, Le mercredi 22 février 2012 à 10:07 +0100, Dominique Dumont a écrit : frozen-bubble 2.212 available on CPAN [1] use Alien::* stuff which is a bit scary. packaging Alien::SDL was not fun. D’uh, why is the version incorrect? As far as I know, all its dependencies are available in Debian. Nope, there’s at least Locale::Maketext::Extract which is missing. That would be very nice, since obviously it is starting to require more Perl knowledge than it used to. Cheers, -- .''`. Bug#660619: ITP: ruby-pry -- powerfull irb alternative and runtime developer console
How do you plan to handle rapid updates? Yes, sometimes Pry can go months without a proper build but sometimes it will only be mere days and it's a rapidly evolving tool by developers for developers (I also think this should be held off for at least a couple of months since a new version is probably coming out soon) and unless you plan to also package it's plugins you leave things wide open for a select few plugins which are always built for the latest Pry including those who might be hooking into newer hooks which Debians version will not have if it's slow to update or it will be really out of sync with the wiki. If you guys put this in right now I believe you guys will be way out of sync here soon too since there are a few planned major refactors to Pry. Bug#660957: ITP: arduino-mk -- CLI (makefile) for arduino platforms
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Scott Howard showard...@gmail.com * Package name: arduino-mk Version : 0.8 Upstream Author : Martin Oldfield ex-atel...@mjo.tc * URL : http:/mjo.tc/atelier/2009/02/arduino-cli.html * License : LGPL-2.1 Programming Lang: Perl, make Description : CLI (makefile) for arduino platforms This is formally splitting out the makefile that is currently in the arduino- core package. arduino-core will then suggest this package, and this new package will depend on arduino-core. arduino-core and arduino-mk are two seperate projects. When arduino was first packaged, they were kept in Debian as one package because they historically used to be from the same upstream. Since the split, we've been maintaining arduino-mk as patches in the arduino package. Since there is now an upstream maintaining arduino-mk, it makes sense to seperate the two packages that now have two seperate upstreams and releases. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Hi Joachim, On Di 21 Feb 2012 23:08:03 CET Joachim Falk wrote: P.S.: I update the version on xiao with the latest packages I built myself. I have looked at your package this morning. Two major issues occur: o the patches have been applied directly on top of the code, I would rather prefer using a patch system (quilt), can you post the source for the patch files? o I wonder, why you have not used the cmake build environment provided by upstream Thanks, Mike -- DAS-NETZWERKTEAM mike gabriel, dorfstr. 27, 24245 barmissen fon: +49 (4302) 281418, fax: +49 (4302) 281419 GnuPG Key ID 0xB588399B mail: mike.gabr...@das-netzwerkteam.de, http://das-netzwerkteam.de freeBusy: https://mail.das-netzwerkteam.de/freebusy/m.gabriel%40das-netzwerkteam.de.xfb pgpHZWp2znS1M.pgp Description: Digitale PGP-Unterschrift
