I didn't find the time to start packaging this after all. It's a shame
but I'll rather maintain a small number of packages well than try to
package things in a hurry.

Anyways, if somebody else has the time I'm certainly interested in
testing and maybe sponsoring this package.

Bug#665748: Fwd: Alternative zu pidgin-openpgp

-- Forwarded message --
From: taken out as this was a private mail; if you want credit, ask me

Subject: Alternative zu pidgin-openpgp

moin Thorsten,

Laut
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/p/pidgin-openpgp/current/copyright
stammt pidgin-openpgp aus http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/288

Ich bin gerade auf
http://blog.chavant.info/2009/06/01/gnupg-plugin-for-pidgin
gestossen, in dem eine Schwaeche des obigen codes mit nicht-ASCII
Zeichen dargestellt wird und eine Neuimplementierung vorgestellt. IMHO
mindestens einen Blick wert, und eine Erwaegung die Implementierung
auszutauschen.

Zitat:

The most noticeable differences are:
 - the Config::INI::Simple module isn't needed
 - the code is shorter and cleaner
 - messages are UTF-8 encoded (jabber standard) so that accentuated
characters are no more a problem
 - the script makes use of Crypt::GPG, an object oriented interface to
GnuPG (no more temporary files, only perl strings; IPC instead of
   system calls)

  Programming Lang: Matlab/Octave, C
Description : Matlab and GNU/Octave functions for vision research
Psychophysics Toolbox Version 3 (PTB-3) is a free set of Matlab and
GNU/Octave functions for vision research. It makes it easy to
synthesize and show accurately controlled visual and auditory stimuli
 and interact with the observer.
 .
The Psychophysics Toolbox interfaces between Matlab or Octave and the
computer hardware. The Psychtoolbox's core routines provide access to
the display frame buffer and color lookup table, allow
synchronization with the vertical retrace, support millisecond
timing, allow access to OpenGL commands, and facilitate the
collection of observer responses. Ancillary routines support common
needs like color space transformations and the QUEST threshold
 seeking algorithm.

remark, .1865 corresponds to the most recent revision of SVN branch beta, which
upstream advises to be used.

Description : Standard LCMAPS plug-ins for basic account mapping

The Local Centre MAPping Service (LCMAPS) is a security middleware
component that processes the users Grid (X.509) credentials and maps the user
to a local account based on the site local policy.

Almost all of the functionality is implemented by plug-ins.

This package contains a set of basic plugins that will probably be
 required in most common cases.

 - dummy (good/bad), useful as final states in policy expressions
 - localaccount, for fixed mappings of specific users
 - poolaccount, for mapping known users to a generic pool
 - posixenf, for enforcing the mapping (making the actual switch)
 - basic-ldap, for interacting with an LDAP account database

A New experimental LedgerSMB package, version 1.3.14-1, is now
available. There are Lintian Informational messages I'll be taking care
of:
1) Issue with usr/share/ledgersmb/sql/coa/ar/gifi/ being empty. I'll be
overriding that checking with upstream about why it's still empty.
(The coa/ar directories are new.)
2) Spelling errors in man page for LedgerSMB::Form: for that I'll add a
patch that corrects the spelling error and get it corrected in upstream.

Bug#471927: [Scratch] Scratch 1.4 source code released under GPL v2

2012-04-03 Thread Benj. Mako Hill
quote who=Amos Blanton date=Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 04:42:22PM -0400
We've made some changes to page that describes the source code on our site,
and also made a minor update to a license file in the source package, all
based on suggestions from Mako Hill and friends from the free software
 community.

I hope we can alleviate any concerns folks at Debian might have about
making Scratch available in the Debian repositories. Don't hesitate to
contact me if you have questions or concerns.

I'm pretty sure that the changes to the website make it clear that the
website terms of use and the trademark license are not additional
copyright terms.

I also think that the current text describing the trademark license
make it clear that re-packaging is fine while using the marks (it
says as much) so I don't forsee that this will be a problem getting
things into Debian.

Of course, folks should know that changes to the license were done in
order to help Scratch into Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc. If there
happen to be any lingering concerns, we can probably work with the
Scratch team to get them address.

Thanks to Miry and everyone else whose working on this! I'm really
looking forward to finally getting Scratch in Debian!

Later,
Mako
