Bug#689563: O: pdnsd -- Proxy DNS Server
Hi, I don't intend to adopt pdnsd myself, but I have made some bug triaging to make it clearer, to the potential adopter, where to start from. Basically, there are: * one packaging RC bug (#689537) that should be pretty trivial to fix (beware not to re-introduce #617913 in the process) * two important bugs that are waiting for feedback from the reporters * a handful of (mostly oldish) upstream bugs of normal severity, that should be fixed some day, but don't prevent most pdnsd users from being happy with it * a bunch of minor / wishlist requests Cheers, -- intrigeri | GnuPG key @ https://gaffer.ptitcanardnoir.org/intrigeri/intrigeri.asc | OTR fingerprint @ https://gaffer.ptitcanardnoir.org/intrigeri/otr.asc -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. It is uni-directional and can only be used once. It provides no means of reverseing or reseting the iterator. It is not recommended to alter the array during iteration, however no attempt is made to enforce this. This class only intends to provide a clear and simple means of generic iteration, nothing more (yet). Bug#689714: ITP: Luma -- LDAP browser and administration utility
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist License: GPL-2+ Homepage: http://luma.sf.net/ Version: 3.0.7 Luma_2.4-3 has been remove from sid (and wheezy) because it depends on python-qt3, which had been replaced by python-qt4. In 2011 a student project on a Norwegian university converted the source to PyQt4 but never officially released the files on SF. Now I found the latest version on http://folk.ntnu.no/einaru/luma/ and released it on http://sf.net/projects/luma/. I rebuild the debian-package from the scratch with dh_python2. It is lintian-clean and ready to be checked and uploaded. I am still listed as DM for luma on squeeze. Sponsors can find the package at http://mentors.debian.net/package/luma . Since the internal changes for Luma 3.x where rather big, most of the old plugins have been removed. I tested the three plugins left: Browser: Connecting to a LDAP-server, browsing the tree and editing values works fine. Search: Used the Filter Builder and did several searches without problems. Templates: It is possible to create edit-templates, but the do not show up in the Browser-view. These include an additive-synthesis phase vocoder, noise reduction, cross synthesis, and more unusual forms of spectral processing. . * bthresher~ similar to thresher~ but with more control * burrow~ a cross-referenced filtering object * cavoc~ an 8-rule cellular automata that generates spectra * cavoc27~ a 27-rule cellular automata object * centerring~ a spectral modulation object * codepend~ a classic block convolution object * crossx~ a cross synthesis object with gating * dentist~ a partial knockout object * disarrain~ an interpolating version of disarray~ * disarray~ a spectral redistribution object * drown~ a noise reduction (or increase) object * ether~ another spectral compositing object * leaker~ a sieve-based cross fader * mindwarp~ a spectral formant warping object * morphine~ a morphing object * multyq~ a four band filter * presidency~ a spectral sampler with pitch control * pvcompand~ a spectral compressor/expander object * pvgrain~ a spectrum analyzer for granular resynthesis * pvharm~ a harmonizer * pvoc~ an additive synthesis phase vocoder * pvtuner~ a spectrum quantizer for tuning to arbitrary scales * pvwarp~ a non-linear frequency warper * reanimator~ an audio texture mapper * resent~ similar to residency~ but with independent bin control * residency~ a spectral sampler useful for time scaling * residency_buffer~ a spectral sampler that writes to an MSP buffer * scrape~ a noise reduction (or increase) object with frequency control * shapee~ a frequency shaping object * swinger~ a phase swapping object * taint~ a cross synthesis object * thresher~ an amplitude/frequency sensitive gating object * vacancy~ a spectral compositing object * xsyn~ a cross synthesis with compression object . FFTease 2.5 objects will reconfigure themselves in response to changes in FFT size or signal vector size. Therefore, they may now be used in MaxMSP poly~ objects with downsampling or upsampling. Changes in vector size remain subject to limitations imposed by the current poly~ (and Pluggo) architecture. . Caveat: these objects are CPU intensive. A few of these objects in a patch could push your computer to its limits. Be very careful with playback volume as some of the objects produce dramatically different (lower or higher) overall levels. . Acknowledgements: This work draws heavily on the phase vocoder code presented by F. Richard Moore in his classic Elements of Computer Music. Additional inspiration was derived from work on cross synthesis and noise reduction by Mark Dolson at CARL in the mid-1980s. We also wish to thank Miller Puckette and David Zicarelli for designing and implementing the framework under which FFTease is presented. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#689653: Voronoi license question
Hi, I'm writing to you as the original author of Voronoi. We from the Debian Perl Team would like to package a Perl module, Math::Geometry::Voronoi (http://search.cpan.org/~samtregar/Math-Geometry-Voronoi-1.3/lib/Math/Geometry/Voronoi.pm), for Debian. The module is basically a wrapper around Derek Bradley's improved version of your C implementation. It seems your Voronoi code does not come with any kind of license statement, a fact that's also noted at the above mentioned URL. Copyright/license information is needed in order for Debian (and others) to be able to legally distribute the software. Could you please give us details on the following points (replying to this email including the bug addess I've cc'd is fine): * years of copyright of your Voronoi code * copyright holders' names and email addesses (if you're not the copyright holder yourself) * the license under which Voronoi can be redistributed and modified I apologize in advance for this request, as I understand that the last thing most authors want to deal with is legal administrivia like this. I'm not a lawyer, but it's my understanding that both copyright and licensing information is vital for the continued success of open source software. Copyright is what allows you to assert a license, and a license is what gives others the rights to use and re-distribute your software. A great article discussing some of this is What is Copyleft? by Richard Stallman: http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/ Thank you, and sorry for the noise.
