Bug#419523: Open-Office Packaging
I am a member of the Apache OpenOffice project and I would like to help with the packaging of OpenOffice/LibreOffice. I would like to keep the open-office name for ApacheOpenOffice, which owns the name and have the LibreOffice packages have their own name. I do not care about the status quo particularly, because I think it is wrong and infringing. I started a group on Ubuntu to package ApacheOpenOffice, but since it was just me, and I have never packaged anything before, there is not much work getting done there. It makes more sense to package ApacheOpenOffice and LibreOffice here in the upstream, than to try to fix derivative distros. Tell me what I can do to help. Cheers! The player controls (initially separately) two characters, each with different abilities, which become complementary when the player combines them together. The game offers more than 300 rooms to explore, with a variety of puzzles to resolve, enemies to defeat and some surreal touches. That being said, I have some concers about the legal status of the game's artwork. While the graphics have been drawn by the upstrem author himself, and licensed with the code as free software, they resemble very faithfully the original's, only with much higher resolution and colors. If they can be considered derived works of the original game, then they are very likely undistributable. Also, the graphics are distributed as bitmaps in BMP format, and I'm not certain whether they are the actual source or not. A little of advice on the concerns presented will be very appreciated. The definition of "derivative work", at least in the USA appears to include "art reproduction" or "any other form in which a work may be recast". Since the BMP files typically do not include information about how they were produced, you will need to contact upstream about this and ask them if they have other forms available. If the images look vectorish, you can bet that either SVG/etc are being withheld or the author threw away the vector originals.
