Bug#648485: gnome-shell-frippery extension looks pretty good as gnome-panel doesn't seem to be there anymore.

2013-03-17 Thread shirish शिरीष
Hi all,
It would be nice to have this extension as there seems to be nothing
like gnome-panel anymore.

See the bottom-panel extension as part of the gnome-shell-frippery
extension list. That's the one which has all the things I'm looking
for. If somebody can up it would be grateful.

I wasn't actually done with primus' packaging; for some reason I kept
on getting a strange error ("primus: fatal: failed to open secondary X
display") every time I tried running primusrun, even though it works
with the optirun+virtualgl backend, so I'm surprised that it worked
for you. That prompted me to dig deeper to find out what was causing
the issue for me; it turns out that, for whatever reason, reverting
one of my previous changes (overriding CXXFLAGS with dpkg-buildflags'
default build flags) fixed the problem for me, although I'm still
unsure why build hardening flags would've been the root cause. Oh
well...

Please pull in my latest commits and test primusrun without
uncommenting the above line. The primusrun wrapper script should still
work correctly.

Agreed, at this point I think bumblebee and primus are ready for
review (bbswitch is already in the NEW queue and I'm happy with it
as-is). If you're offering to review the package and/or sponsor it,
thanks in advance! And feel free to make changes directly in the git
repo if you want to change anything. :)

(Aron, if you have a bit of time to spare, could you also take a look
at the changes I've made to bumblebee + primus?)

Regards,
Vincent

Bug#649287: test install

2013-03-17 Thread Antoine Beaupré
I have done the following to test those builds:

sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list.d/tomahawk.list
sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list.d/experimental.list
sudo apt-get update
cd pkg-tomahawk
apt-get source tomahawk
apt-get source libjreen1
apt-get source libqtweetlib1.0
apt-get source libquazip1
cd jreen-1.1.1/
dch -v 1.1.1-1 Prepare a Debian upload.
debuild
cd quazip-0.4.4/
dch -v 0.4.4-1 Prepare a Debian upload.
sudo apt-get install libqca2-dev
debuild
cd ../qtweetlib-0.5/
dch -v 0.5-1 Prepare a Debian upload.
sudo apt-get install pkg-kde-tools libqt4-opengl-dev libqjson-dev
debuild
sudo dpkg -i libjreen1_1.1.1-1_amd64.deb libjreen-dev_1.1.1-1_amd64.deb
libqtweetlib-dev_0.5-1_amd64.deb libqtweetlib1.0_0.5-1_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i libquazip-dev_0.4.4-1_amd64.deb libquazip1_0.4.4-1_amd64.deb
sudo apt-get install -t experimental libattica-dev libechonest-dev
libattica-dev libclucene-dev liblastfm-dev
sudo apt-get build-dep tomahawk
cd ../tomahawk-0.6.0/
dch -v 0.6.0-1 Prepare a Debian upload.
debuild

Then I could install and run the package, and it seems to run as it
should, generally.

An Emacs org-mode parser written in Ruby. The most significant thing this
library does today is convert org-mode files to HTML or Textile. Currently,
you cannot do much to customize the conversion. The supplied textile
conversion is optimized for extracting "content" from the orgfile as opposed
 to "metadata."

Avería ("breakdown" or "mechanical damage" in Spanish - related to the root
of the English word "average") is a Unicode typeface family created from the
average of all fonts on the computer of the creator, Dan Sayers. The process
is described at http://iotic.com/averia/. All metrics are the result of an
averaging process. The included glyphs are those that existed in a majority
of the source fonts - which are the following:

Range Description
U+0020-U+007E Basic Latin
U+00A0-U+00FF Latin-1 Supplement

And some glyphs from the following:

I close this bug because this package has legal problems.

Due to the strange way in which this font was created, it is
a derivative work of many different fonts, some proprietary, some
libre, some copyleft and some permissively licensed. As a result it is
probably not distributable at all. At minimum, the copyright holders
of the other fonts haven't been acknowledged.

However I will work on a "libre" free version of this fonts in google webform.--- End Message ---

Bug#649287: ubuntu package effort overview

2013-03-17 Thread Antoine Beaupré
So there are tons of packages in that PPA. It seems that many Tomahawk
dependencies are not packaged in Debian, in particular:

tomahawk : Depends: libattica0.4 (>= 0.4.1) but it is not installable
Depends: libclucene-core1 but it is not installable
Depends: libechonest2.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libjreen1 but it is not installable
Depends: liblastfm1 but it is not installable
Depends: libqtweetlib1.0 but it is not installable
Depends: libquazip1 but it is not installable

libattica0.4, libclucene-core1, libechonest2.0 and liblastfm1 are in
experimental already, so those dependencies can be satisfied.

libjreen1, libqtweetlib1.0 and libquazip1 have never been uploaded in
Debian, but there are indeed packages available in that Ubuntu PPA.

Some ITPs for those packages: #648668, #700028, #675276, all of which
are still pending, with little progress. I have notified those issues
about the PPA.

Hopefully someone can sit down and review those packages. I would be
happy to sponsor first uploads if someone needs the keys to the
castle. :)

A.

Bug#648668: packages available in an Ubuntu PPA

2013-03-17 Thread Antoine Beaupré
Control: block 649287 by 700028 675276 648668

After looking at Tomahawk packaging (#649287), it came to my attention
that all the missing packages were already marked as WNPP in Debian.

But even better, all those packages have already been done in an Ubuntu
PPA, here:

https://launchpad.net/~tomahawk/+archive/ppa/+packages

So you may be able to just review that packaging work and ship this
directly into Debian, which would be awesome, as it would unblock the
Tomahawk package.

Thanks for looking into this, and let me know if you need a sponsor.

Hello!

I am Laszlo Kajan, a member of the 'Gridengine packaging' project [1]. This
project team-maintains gridengine [2], a distributed resource management
system, in Debian.

gridengine used to be - well, still is on wheezy - a package of the Sun Grid
Engine. Our team is now inclined to continue maintaining gridengine as one of
the free forks of the Sun Grid Engine: the Son of Grid Engine (SGE) [3].
The reason is that the upstream developer, Dave Love, is giving us a lot of
help with this, and is very enthusiastic about keeping Son of Grid Engine in
Debian.

Our team - I feel, after discussions in the team [4] - could use new members
willing to go deeper into the delicacies of packaging this distributed system
for Debian, and tackle the issues (see the thread in [4]). And to match Dave's
pace :).

If you are interested in gridengine and SGE and feel you can help, please send
an email to the team mailing list at
.

If you would like to check out the current Debianization, please visit [5].
Contributions to this wiki page are most welcome.

Best regards,
Laszlo

Description : module providing Fill-In-Form for Catalyst

Automatically insert data from a previous HTML form into HTML input fields,
textarea fields, radio buttons, checkboxes, and select tags. It is an
instance of HTML::FillInForm, which itself is a subclass of HTML::Parser,
which it uses to parse the HTML and insert the values into the proper
form tags.

The usual application is after a user submits an HTML form without filling
out a required field, or with errors in fields having specified constraints.
FillInForm is used to redisplay the HTML form with all the form elements
containing the submitted info. FillInForm can also be used to fill forms
with data from any source, e.g. directly from your database.

* Package name: libbytes-random-secure-perl
  Version : 0.25

* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Bytes-Random-Secure/
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perl extension to generate cryptographically-secure random
bytes

Bytes::Random::Secure provides two interfaces for obtaining crypt-quality
random bytes. The simple interface is built around plain functions. For
greater control over the Random Number Generator's seeding, there is an
Object Oriented interface that provides much more flexibility.

The "functions" interface provides five functions that can be used any time
you need a string (or MIME Base64 representation, or hex-digits
representation, or Quoted Printable representation) of a specific number of
random bytes. There are equivalent methods available via the OO interface.

Bytes::Random::Secure can be a drop-in replacement for Bytes::Random, with
the primary enhancement of using a much higher quality random number
generator to create the random data. The random_bytes function emulates the
user interface of Bytes::Random's function by the same name. But with
Bytes::Random::Secure the random number generator comes from
Math::Random::ISAAC, and is suitable for cryptographic purposes. The harder
problem to solve is how to seed the generator. This module uses
Crypt::Random::Seed to generate the initial seeds for Math::Random::ISAAC.

Data.Derive is a library and a tool for deriving instances for Haskell
programs. It is designed to work with custom derivations, SYB and
Template Haskell mechanisms. The tool requires GHC, but the generated
code is portable to all compilers. This tool can be regarded as a
 competitor to DrIFT.

 Module::Install::ExtraTests adds one Module::Install command:
 .
  extra_tests;
 .
This declares that the test files found in the directory ./xt should be
 run only in certain instances:
 .
./xt/author - run when tests are being run in an author's working copy
./xt/smoke - run when the dist is being smoked (AUTOMATED_TESTING=1)
./xt/release - run during "make disttest"
 .
These directories are recurisvely scanned for *.t files. If any
directories or files exist in ./xt that are not recognized, the
 Makefile.PL will die.

I pulled in your changes today and built primus. It is playing well with
my setup. Bumblebee is able to apply the power savings when
optirun/primusrun is not in use.

I did have to uncomment the following in primusrun to make it work.

# Mesa drivers need a few symbols to be visible
export PRIMUS_LOAD_GLOBAL=${PRIMUS_LOAD_GLOBAL:-'libglapi.so.0'}

The NEW queue is big already and there's very little progress (has to do
with the freeze). But you would want to push primus now for review.

Bug#634757: About adoption LyX

2013-03-17 Thread Sven Hoexter
Hi guys,
Liviu Andronic just made me aware of several people who would like
to adopt the LyX package. I'll now CC everyone whom I see as interested
because you've fallen in a little trap of the BTS. You just wrote
to the RFA bug report but did not post on the pkg-lyx-devel mailinglist
or otherwise pinged the former maintainer. We don't read the bugreport
and I for one am not subscribed to the bug itself. Since the RFA bug is
filled against the wnpp pseudo package we don't receive your mails.

So here is the beef:
Most infrastructure information has been collected in the Debian Wiki
http://wiki.debian.org/PkgLyx

You can start just from there and clone the repo and maybe start
to send patches/pull requests to the mailinglist.

If you've some history within Debian that shows that you know a few
basics about Debian package building it's of course possible to add
you to the project so you can commit to the central git repo. You've to
create a alioth guest account for that on http://alioth.debian.org.

Even if I didn't work on LyX in the last years I'm still willing to
sponsor uploads and help with questions about the packaging.

Please direct any further questions to the pkg-lyx-devel mailinglist
and and join the list.

Cheers,
Sven

Bug#703226: ITP: patchwork -- a console or web based patch tracking system

2013-03-17 Thread Carsten Schoenert
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Carsten Schoenert

* Package name: patchwork
  Version : actual like 0.0.0-[git-SH1-ID]
Upstream Author : Jeremy Kerr j...@ozlabs.org
* URL : http://jk.ozlabs.org/projects/patchwork/
* License : GPL2
Programming Lang: Python, Shell, Django Framwork with jquery
Description : a console or web based patch tracking system

Patchwork is designed to facilitate the contribution and management of
contributions to an open-source project with a patch tracking system.
In case of high activity on a mailinglist patches are offen neglected
because of the amount of new or reworked patches every day.
Patchwork helps to keep the overview to all of them because every mail
with a patch gets into a database. The collected patches are then visible
in a WebGUI on the server there the patchwork software is running.
Inside the WebGUI it is possible for registered people to mark every
single patch like 'accepted', 'under review', 'rejected' and so on.
It's also possible to assign patches to single persons.

Patchwork includes a python script 'pwclient' that allows the user to
control the patches from a remote client.

Patchwork is not related to a specifiv VCS.
