please make it *very* clear that this is not maple in the description
and .desktop file (used by software-center).
These type of packages often seem to confuse novice users into thinking
this is the actual nonfree program.

See the equivalent matlab-support:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/matlab-support
(the installation failed bugs are from users without matlab, the
-support package fails dpkg in that case)

Bug#690693: ITP: thin-provisioning-tools -- Tools to manage thinly provisioned volume metadata in LVM

2013-05-30 Thread Dmitrijs Ledkovs
Debian is unfrozen, and I looked into reviewing your package.

The packaging is good. You did go with dh-make defaults, which are a
tiny bit out of date now (use debhelper 9, standards version 3.9.4,
and copyright format
http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/copyright-format/1.0/).
But these are minor on-going improvements you can make to the package.
I am building updated lvm2 at the moment to actually test thin
provisioning, if it passes fine this package will be ready to be
uploaded.

Unfortunately mentors have deleted your package, I was reviewing your
package from git repository (fetched the tarball with uscan).

Please reupload source package, again, for a prompt upload into the archive.

Regards,

Dmitrijs.

that contains sfnt-based fonts. No Debian packages seem available to
generate woff fonts from sfnt ones so a sfnt2woff package could be
created for that purpose. This program is necessary to generate the Web

  Description : module to find the distribution that provides a given
package

 Package::Locator attempts to answer the question: "Where can I find a
 distribution that will provide this package?" The answer is divined by
 searching the indexes for one or more CPAN-like repositories. If you also
 provide a specific version number, Package::Locator will attempt to find a
 distribution with that version of the package, or higher. You can also ask to
 find the latest version of a package across all the indexes.
 .
 Package::Locator only looks at the index files for each repository, and those
 indexes only contain information about the latest versions of the packages
 within that repository. So Package::Locator is not BackPAN magic -- you
 cannot use it to find precisely which distribution a particular package (or
 file) came from.

  Description : URI related types and coercions for Moose

 This package provides Moose types for fun with URIs.
 .
 It has slightly DWIMier types than the URI classes have due to implementation
 details, so the types should be more forgiving when ducktyping will work
 anyway (e.g. URI::WithBase does not inherit URI).

Bug#710382: ITP: jmtpfs -- FUSE based filesystem for accessing MTP devices

2013-05-30 Thread Apollon Oikonomopoulos
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Apollon Oikonomopoulos

* Package name: jmtpfs
  Version : 0.4
  Upstream Author : Jason Ferrara
* URL :
http://research.jacquette.com/jmtpfs-exchanging-files-between-android-devices-and-linux/
* License : GPL-3
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : FUSE based filesystem for accessing MTP devices

jmtpfs is a FUSE and libmtp based filesystem for accessing MTP (Media Transfer
Protocol) devices. It was specifically designed for exchaning files between
Linux (and Mac OS X) systems and newer Android devices that support MTP but
not USB Mass Storage.

The goal is to create a well behaved filesystem, allowing tools like find and
rsync to work as expected. MTP file types are set automatically based on file
type detection using libmagic. Setting the file appears to be necessary for
some Android apps, like Gallery, to be able to find and use the files.

Bug#702300: ITA: rdflib

2013-05-30 Thread chrysn
i intend to adopt this package.

i use it actively and prepared a version 3 update described in bug
#655039 -- my updated package is far from ready, and furthermore
outdated due to upstreams 4.0.1, but i don't want this useful library to
get lost for debian.

if someone wants to adopt this package before i get it ready to look for
a sponsor, feel free to do so, or let's join efforts.

best regards
chrysn

Description: free implementation of Heroes of Might and Magic II engine
 Heroes of Might and Magic II is a classic fantasy turn-based
 strategy/role-playing game which takes place in the land of
Enroth,
 a place of magic.
 There are a multitude of creature types, from griffins to rocs,
 golems to pikemen, unicorns to hydras, and four different
dragons.
 Each castle type has six different creatures, from the weak
 to the strong. There are six castle types, each corresponding
to
 a hero class: Knight, Sorceress, Wizard (Good side), Barbarian,
 Necromancer and Warlock (Evil side). There are also six
different
 types of neutral creatures you can recruit in special
structures
 scattered about the maps.
 .
 Original game files from CD are needed to play this game.

Despite being mostly GPL-2+, AI implementation prohibit commercial use
 so this game is only suitable for non-free, as far as I understand.

  Description : Yet another (Common)JS module loader

 Yajsml is a server-side component that allows JavaScript code to be
 distributed in a reliable and performant way. Its three features are:
 .
   - Proxy pass through for individual resource requests.
   - Bulk responses for requests of closely associated resources
 (e.g. dependencies) when a request specifies a JSONP-style callback.
   - Canonical packaged resources where requests for disparate resources
 may be fulfilled through a redirect to one canonical packaged resource
 (which exploits warmed caches).
 .
 The tool’s interface is simple enough that there is no need for a prescribed
 implementation on the client-side. That said, the require-kernel is a terse
 implementation of a CommonJS module manager that can use all the features in
 yajsml.

  Description : Russian hyphenation patterns for LibreOffice

I have patched Alexander Lebedev's hyphenation patterns (ruhyphal)
already found in the texlive-lang-cyrillic Debian package and the
ruhyphen CTAN package, so that they would work with LibreOffice. The
reason why I have chosen exactly these patterns is because, among those
released under a free license, they seem to give the best orphographical
results while their format is generally supported by LibreOffice.

These patterns have been released by the author under the terms of the
LaTeX project public license version 1.2 (with an option of choosing any
later version), thus I see no problems for my package to formally fit
the DFSG and be included into the main distribution branch.

Since I am not a Debian Developer yet, I'm uploading the complete
package to the mentors.debian.net storage for sponsorship approval.

Best regards,

Ilyas

Bug#710421: ITP: pxe-pdhcp -- ProxyDHCP server for the non-DHCP server host

2013-05-30 Thread Osamu Aoki
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Osamu Aoki

* Package name: pxe-pdhcp
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : FURUHASHI Sadayuki
* URL : http://svn.coderepos.org/share/lang/c/pxe-pdhcp/
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : ProxyDHCP server for the non-DHCP server host

 Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) is a specification to boot PCs via the
 network connection.
 .
 There are 3 ways to set up the PXE.
  * Only with DHCP using the DHCPOFFER containing the PXE extension.
--> dhcpd running with special DHCPOFFER in dhcpd.conf .
  * Run the ProxyDHCP server on the same server as the DHCP server.
--> pxe + dhcpd running on the same server.
  * Run the ProxyDHCP server on a server different from the DHCP server.
--> pxe-pdhcp (no dhcpd should be installed together)
 .
 This pxe-pdhcp package provides the support to the last option and this
 option is the most useful for people on the consumer grade home network
 since DHCP server can be left untouched which is impossible with other two
 options.
 .
 For BOOTP or DHCP needed for acquiring an IP address, it should be served
 from a different server than the one running this pxe-pdhcp.
 .
 For TFTP needed for transferring files, such as tftpd-hpa (or atftpd), it
 can be run on any server.
 .
 This program is a single purpose package and simpler to configure than the
 multi-feature dnsmasq package for the ProxyDHCP.
---

The upstream source is old (2007) and not active. But there are patches on the
web.
The folllowing updates are made to fit for Debian.

  * string boundary patch. (http://d.hatena.ne.jp/flalin/about)
  * etherboot + syslog patch. (daydream.tripp...@gmail.co)
  * add pid file generation patch. (osamu)
  * Add Debian lsb init script. (osamu)
  * Cleaned source tree to make this as new upstream tar.

I will make new URL for updated source as alioth git repo.

Bug#710324: ITP: staden -- set of DNA sequence assembly, editing and analysis tools

2013-05-30 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Jonas,

considering you have files some bugs against staden-io-lib (version
1.12.x) you are most probably aware that we just have this:

$ apt-cache showsrc staden-io-lib
Package: staden-io-lib
Binary: staden-io-lib-utils, libstaden-read-dev, libstaden-read1
Version: 1.12.4-1
Maintainer: Debian Med Packaging Team

Uploaders: Charles Plessy
Homepage: http://staden.sourceforge.net/
Priority: source
Section: science

In case there might be reasons to stick to the current 1.x series and it
makes sense to package 2.x in addition instead of simply upgrading I
would welcome if you would choose the Debian Med repository for doing so
(any DD has commit permissions) and set Debian Med team as maintainer.

Kind regards

Andreas.

  location).

This package is another base module published by the Tryton project and enhances
the features provided by the modules, that are already packaged for Debian.

 Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a standard model for data
 interchange on the Web.
 .
 RDF::Trine provides an RDF framework with an emphasis on extensibility,
 API stability, and the presence of a test suite.
 .
 RDF::TrineX::Serializer::MockTurtleSoup provides an RDF::Trine
 serializer like RDF::Trine::Serializer::Turtle but real pretty.
 .
 And slower.
 .
 And probably breaks with some complex graphs.

staden and staden-io-lib are not the same thing. In fact, staden (some
applications) depends on staden-io-lib (library implementing read-write
routines for some file formats) - which explains why I bumped into some
issues with the libraries leading to bugreports ;-)

Nevertheless, if the Debian Med team has a low-volume mailinglist and
don't mind my use of CDBS for packaging, I will be happy to have staden
be part of that team.

Bug#659640: wp-mirror: changing back from ITP to RFP

2013-05-30 Thread wp mirror
Dear Lucas,

`Wp-mirror' has been available as a DEB package for over a year. The
homepage is .

1) Debian Mentors

After I filed the ITP, one person did offer to sponsor the package.
But then I heard nothing further from him. My `wp-mirror' DEB package
builds with `debuild' and `pbuilder' with no complaints from
`lintian'. So a sponsor would not have to do very much.

2) Development

I have continued to develop the software. Version 0.6 will be released
in a week or two (as a DEB package).

Please advise.

Sincerely Yours,
Kent

Bug#710464: ITP: python-scrypt -- Python bindings for the scrypt key derivation function library

2013-05-30 Thread Micah Anderson
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Micah Anderson

* Package name: python-scrypt
  Version : 0.5.3
  Upstream Author : Magnus Hallin
* URL : http://bitbucket.org/mhallin/py-scrypt
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Python bindings for the scrypt key derivation function
library

 This is a set of Python bindings for the scrypt key derivation function.
 .
 Scrypt is useful when encrypting password as it is possible to specify a
 minimum amount of time to use when encrypting and decrypting. If, for
 example, a password takes 0.05 seconds to verify, a user won't notice the
 slight delay when signing in, but doing a brute force search of several
 billion passwords will take a considerable amount of time. This is in
 contrast to more traditional hash functions such as MD5 or the SHA family
 which can be implemented extremely fast on cheap hardware.

I was holding off on this bug for a while due to Debian/Ubuntu
freezes. I'm still interested in working on it, and I'll poke the
necessary Ubuntu people to try and get the ball rolling a bit. Thanks
for the ping.

Ahh, I should have checked this before sending this mail.

I have no idea what might be your limit for low-volume - there are some
mails per day thought. If you are only interested in this specific
package you might consider just subscribing this package via PTS as
alternative.

> don't mind my use of CDBS for packaging,

I admit I tend to convert from cdbs to dh but we have several packages
left with cdbs. Finally we are not that kind of people who would try to
convert the cdbs maintainer to something else. ;-)

This would be really cool.
