Bug#645883: Current status of twig
Hi Paul, hi Guillaume I just wanted to inform you that I just opened an RFS (request for sponsorship) for Twig (see: #714548). This is needed, since I'm not a DD (Debian developer) and therefore can not upload new packages to Debian on my own. I decided to drop out Twig's documentation and the binary package twig-doc, since upstream so far ignored my question regarding the licensing of the documentation [1]. I'll check out, if I can use our companies contacts with SensioLabs Germany, to get some attention onto this issue. Once the licensing of the documentation has been clarified, I'll re-add it to the source together with the resulting binary package twig-doc. For this purpose I keep a branch in sync on Github [2]. Once again, thanks a lot for all of your feedback and your initial work on the twig-packaging for Debian. Bug#704594: ITP: python-arpy -- library for accessing the archive files and reading the contents
Hi, The patch has been included in the upstream release. I modified the behaviour afterwards though. Changes: - no checking for negative offsets (seek() already does that) - seeking ability is detected at initialisation, so that read-as-seek is only used on non-seekable streams - there's an explicit exception when seek is requested but can't be used (also project has been moved to https://github.com/viraptor/arpy to get travis-ci integration, old bitbucket page redirects there - current version 1.1.1) -- KTHXBYE, Stanisław Pitucha

The problem is the following clause in src/JSON_parser.c: The Software shall be used for Good, not Evil. This makes the software nonfree, and it should therefore be rejected by ftpmasters. See [1] and [2] for discussions of this problem. I also encountered this issue when trying to package WDI from CRAN, which depends on RJSONIO. As a workaround, I am going to package rjson, which also does the job (but is slower, and has a slightly different API which therefore implies to patch on WDI). Ideally RJSONIO should be fixed by (1) repackaging the tarball without JSON_parser.{c,h} and (2) providing equivalent functionality with a patch. Unfortunately I don’t have the time and skills to do that.
