I currenly have two packages which would belong there: arduino-mighty-1284p, for supporting the melzi board, and the new Cura (which will actually be two packages, -engine and -gui). I previously looked at Repsnapper, but someone else eventually packaged it; it should be part of this as well, I think. Yeah. sfact is also packaged by someone else. I intend to take a look at printrun/pronterface soon too. I've also written a print server and am in the process of writing new firmware. Once done, they should be packaged as well, of course. Sounds great! As for the structure, I'd prefer to use git for our repositories. Is that ok with you? Git is perfectly fine with me. I'll take a look at the procedure to create a packaging project on Alioth. Don't block on me though, git makes for an easy relocation anyway ;) Cheers, -- Nicolas Dandrimont I've run DOOM more in the last few days than I have the last few months. Bug#714820: ITP: ntopng -- High-Speed Web-based Traffic Analysis and Flow Collection Tool
On 07/06/2013 09:14 PM, Ludovico Cavedon wrote: On Wed, Jul 3, 2013 at 5:00 AM, The Wanderer wande...@fastmail.fm wrote: Might I suggest a different package name, e.g. 'ntop-ng'? At a glance, 'ntopng' reads to me as N-to-PNG, along the lines of existing file-format converter programs. While it's not absolutely necessary to avoid that, if there's no real downside to doing so, it might be a good idea. Good point about the double interpretation, I did not think about it. However, given that there is no real conflict, I would like to keep the name as close as possible to upstream. Just to be clear, making sure we're on the same page: I'm certainly not proposing changing the name of the actual program; I'm only proposing changing the name of the package. For comparison, a program which upstream calls 'calc' is available in the package name 'apcalc', even though there is no package named 'calc'. (I don't recall whether or not there used to be.) If that would also be too much of a change from upstream to suit your preferences, then fair enough. -- The Wanderer Warning: Simply because I argue an issue does not mean I agree with any side of it. Bug#706060: so how is ITP going?
❦ 7 juin 2013 17:28 CEST, Daniel Mizyrycki daniel.mizyry...@dotcloud.com : I see that PPA has some packages (check lintian *.dsc for minor tweeks TODO; also probably there is no reason for duplicate {,src/}github.com/docker; copyright seems to be missing info on ./src/github.com/gorilla/; may be more...) -- but is there anything holding you up really? ;) Yep, those are minor issues. The mayor one is to move the debian/Makefile to debian/rules with new logic, aligned with debian go packaging guidelines. If are you interested in helping out, we will have the debian packaging faster :) I am a bit lost in the conversation. Those issues seem pretty easy to fix. However, the Alioth repository is still not set so it is difficult to help you. Would you like help to setup the repository on Alioth? Do you have an account on Alioth? Yaroslav's proposition seems complicated but is in fact pretty simple (unless I have misunderstood his intentions). This is just using git-buildpackage with default settings: - upstream tarballs are imported into upstream branch - debian modifications are done in master branch (and should only cover debian/ directory) -- Test programs at their boundary values. - The Elements of Programming Style (Kernighan Plauger) pgpcuPS0VLIof.pgp Description: PGP signature

The Solaris Porting Layer (SPL) is a Linux kernel module which provides many of the Solaris kernel APIs. This shim layer makes it possible to run Solaris kernel code in the Linux kernel with relatively minimal modification. . This can be particularly useful when you want to track upstream Solaris development closely and don't want the overhead of maintaining a large patch which converts Solaris primitives to Linux primitives. . This package contains the source code for the SPL Linux kernel module, which can be used with DKMS, so that local kernel modules are automatically built and installed every time the kernel packages are upgraded. signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: spl-linux Source-Version: 0.6.1-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of spl-linux, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Bug#715182: ITP: fonts-junction -- humanist sans-serif typeface
On Sun, Jul 7, 2013 at 1:32 AM, Christian PERRIER bubu...@debian.org wrote: Junction is a humanist sans-serif, and the first open-source type project started by The League of Moveable Type. Any suggestions on how to expand on the long description would be apprieciated. What is a humanist font? I first came across this font awhile in a blog post by Máirín Duffy of Fedora fame who described a humanist font as: | Humanist refers to the calligraphic-like way the strokes of letters are ended | and how the line widths are not one consistent width but vary depending on | where in the letter they are (unlike Helvetica or Futura, where the line widths | are very consistent and don’t vary at all.) Humanist typefaces I think are called | ‘humanist’ because they reference / are influenced by how the human hand | produces lettermarks. It could be interesting to explain why Yet Another Font. There are certainly reasons and those are the information needed by people who have to decide would I want to install this on my system. I hope to, just trying to figure out the balance between the kind of promotional praising that might be used by an upstream author and the more restrained descriptions we tend to use for Debian packages. I find font descriptions even more difficult than most packages, as it is so easy to drift a bit too far into art criticism. How does the following sound to you? | Junction, the first open-source type project by The League of Moveable Type, | is a humanist sans-serif font. Designed by Caroline Hadilaksono, it has hand | drawn and human qualities while retaining the clarity and efficiencies of a | sans-serif typeface. | . | It currently only supports basic Latin characters. Slightly modified from Fedora's description which reads: | Designed by Caroline Hadilaksono, inspired by her favorite humanist | sans serif typefaces. It has the hand drawn and human qualities of a | serif, and still retains the clarity and efficiencies of a sans serif | typeface. It combines the best of both worlds. Bug#715182: ITP: fonts-junction -- humanist sans-serif typeface
Quoting Andrew Starr-Bochicchio (a...@debian.org): is so easy to drift a bit too far into art criticism. Sounds great. signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#590180: any progress on sigil/flightcrew?
On Sun, 07 Jul 2013, Antoine Beaupré wrote: Any news on the sigil/flightcrew packaging? I am current stuck on either getting a clean-room implementation of the DTD that I identified earlier, or disabling checks of that DTD in sigil. Patches accepted.
