  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Static website compiler and blog engine

Blogofile is a static website compiler, primarily (though not
exclusively) designed to be a simple blogging engine. It requires no
database and no special hosting environment. You customize a set of
templates with Mako, create posts in a markup language of your choice
(Markdown, Textile, reStructuredText or plain old HTML) and Blogofile
renders your entire website as static HTML and Atom/RSS feeds which
you can then upload to any old web server you like.

Yup, I'm not sure how serious the threat may be, but restricting it a
bit would fine for me.

Note though that the Fedora package does not do that[1] and since it is
done by Colin I'm not sure if we want to diverge from it.

Asking Colin about the group restriction may be a good a idea.

Bug#661341: ITP: anope -- a set of IRC Services designed for flexibility and ease of use

2013-09-16 Thread 'Christoph Biedl'
Dominic Hargreaves wrote...

I'm now looking at the packaging of Anope 1.8.8 so in the absence
of further responses from Christopher am taking ownership of this
bug. Of course, if Christopher would like to get involved again I'd
 be very happy to collaborate.

Ups. Seems I either oversaw your previous message or I forgot about
it. Since, however, I did not continue my work on Anope anyway, that
package is probably better in your hands.

One request ... please do the ngircd users a favour and
package 1.9.x since 1.8.x does not have support for ngircd yet.

From my remembrance, Debianisation of Anope wasn't easy, mostly since
it appearently wasn't written with Debian's requirements in mind (just
saying, no one to blame here). I can provide you my incomplete
Debianisation of 1.9.6, but with a no questions asked policy only :)
It's just I forgot most of the gory details. The major things and as
far as I can recall:

* Anope's file system layout is not at all FHS-like, you have to patch
  that. Expect some surprises.

* The module loader uses randomized file names. Completely
  unnecessary, drop that.

* There is an openssl linkage without an according exception by
upstream. Try to get one (I failed), or ship Anope without.

Cheers,

Christoph

Good point. In future please consider mentioning that in the RFP :-)

Ok

I sent the RFP because I want to know if someone else is
interested, I'm. But I need first do a lot of work before to get my

will take me about two or three weeks, if in that time anyone take the
 job, I'll do.

Quite sensible. But again, please consider mentioning such

Ok. Thanks for the tips!

Also consider joining the Javascript team and do your work there:

Excellent (and sorry for not knowing my own team mates :-/ )

It's not your fault, I'm not very active on the mailing list yet. Again, thanks
for the tips.

  * Suitable for building editors and filters which want/need to preserve the
original file layout as much as possible.
  * Error messages have line and column information.

Bug#723170: ITP: pynzb - unified API for parsing NZB files from NNTP (Usenet) servers

2013-09-16 Thread Hans-Christoph Steiner
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Hans-Christoph Steiner h...@eds.org

* Package name: pynzb
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : Eric Florenzano
* URL : https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pynzb/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: python
Description : unified API for parsing NZB files from NNTP (Usenet) servers

pynzb is a unified API for parsing NZB files, with several concrete
 implementations included.
 .
NZB is an XML-based file format for retrieving posts from NNTP (Usenet)
servers. Since NZB is XML-based, it's relatively easy to build one-off
parsers to parse NZB files. This project is an attempt to consolidate those
many one-off NZB parsers into one simple interface.
 .
This package includes three implementations: one based on expat, another based
on ElementTree, and a final implementation based on lxml. The order in which
they were listed is in order of compatibility. The expat version should work
on
all versions of Python 2.0, the lxml one will work on all versions 2.5, and
lxml will only work if you have lxml installed.
 .
Simply import nzb_parser from the pynzb package. It's an instantiated
version of the fastest available parser that your system can support.

2013-09-16 Thread Rogério Brito
Hi there.

OK.

When I started on this, the only Netbeans package was in non-free because
it bundled jar files of its dependencies. I'm pretty much there on getting
the latest Netbeans platform uploaded, although I do need some help with
 sponsering a few packages.

Can you please clarify some things to a non-connoisseur? Is netbeans a
(hard) build dependency for gephi? If it is, is it free now (or can it be
made free by substituting portions of it)?

A further complication is that since I last had a working Gephi package,
the Gephi build system was updated to use Maven. Getting the relevant
plugins packaged will also be needed, so that we can properly build
against the Netbeans platform. Failing that, we'll need to heavily patch
the Gephi build system, which doesn't sound like much fun...

Anyway, if others are keen to work on this then we should try and make a
plan, but be prepared to get stuck in with Maven packaging.

Just a warning here: I am a novice in Java-land (I wrote a toy compiler in
Java in 1998, but that sincerely doesn't count, as I can't remember a thing
and the language changed a lot).

That being said, I may, perhaps, spend some time with it, as many of the
things that I want to see packaged depend on it. :(

With that being said, I just started learning about this maven thing and one
of the first things that came to my eyes was that it downloads all the
things that it needs (as described in the pom.xml file) from the network,
which is obviously not acceptable for buildds.

So, with that in mind, what are the recommended ways of building things that
have the build-system based on maven in Debian?

And what is the recommended/best-practices way of convincing maven to use a
locally installed build-dependency (or a dependency) in a Debian system?

With answers to those questions, I may even try to take a look at one
trivial, hello-world-like java package and, perhaps, help with the java
packaging.

Thanks for directions,
Rogério.
