Bug#592133: RFP: curlpp -- C++ wrapper for libcurl

2013-09-19 Thread Thijs Kinkhorst
Op woensdag 18 september 2013 20:50:01 schreef Ximin Luo:
  - All 4 files you install via debian/docs should probably not be
  installed. NEWS is empty, INSTALL contains instructions for building the
  package (not needed in a Debian package that's already built), README
  contains things that can also be found elsewhere in the package. CHANGES
  should be installed but as /usr/share/doc/*/changelog.gz instead of the
  placeholderfile that's there now.

 Done, mostly. I decided to keep the README since it does contain some
 non-redundant info, it seems weird not to have one even if it's short, and
 lots of other packages have short READMEs that one could argue are
 redundant - see /usr/share/doc/*/README. I hope this is OK. I've also used
 the --link-doc option of dh_installdocs to link libcurlpp-dev's docs to
 libcurlpp0 to avoid repetition.

Thanks. I would indeed argue that most of those READMEs are indeed redundant
and should be dropped, but it's not a big deal.

  - In debian/patches/, both patches should probably have a header
  Forwarded: http://code.google.com/p/curlpp/issues/detail?id=25;.

 DEP-3 http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep3/ says in regards to Forwarded:

 If the field is missing, its implicit value is yes if the Bug field is
 present, otherwise it's no. The field is really required only if the
 patch is vendor specific, in that case its value should be not-needed to
 indicate that the patch must not be forwarded upstream (whereas no
 simply means that it has not yet been done).

 for fix-include-config, the field is not-needed since it is
 vendor-specific (the patch breaks the install for windows users), and for
 include-dynamic-headers we can omit the field because the Bug field is
 already present.

OK, good.

  If this is fixed, I think I can sponsor your package.

 Uploaded new version to mentors, at the previous address:

 http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/c/curlpp/curlpp_0.7.3-1.dsc

Alright, uploaded. Let me know if there are updates you want sponsored. Thanks
for your work so far.

Bug#696455: ITP: python-pytaglib

2013-09-19 Thread Michael Helmling
Honestly I somehow gave up on this, after I've realized that getting
familiar with the dirty details of debian packaging isn't worth the
effort for a single package (especially since I'm not a debian user myself).

Of course, I'd very much apprechiate and support if anyone else would
take care of this. There's a working package in the DPMT SVN repository
(http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/python-modules/packages/pytaglib/), I
guess only minor stuff would have to be fixed for being fully compliant
with the debian rules.

It contains automated checks for many aspects of Debian policy as well

This package provides an experimental flavor of Lintian designed to

Bug#703645: packaging the database schema

2013-09-19 Thread Daniel Pocock

A database schema is required in order to run the PostBooks application

The database schema is not included in the source tarball. Rather,
upstream distributes the schema as a separate download

They have several schemas available:

- an empty database (just the tables)

- a quickstart database (includes chart of accounts and other standard
content in the tables)

- a demo database (like quickstart, but also includes sample customers
and transaction data)

The current versions are available here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/postbooks/files/03%20PostBooks-databases/4.1.0/

They also mention an installer but it is not clear whether their
installer will run as a Debian package or if it is better to just
treat the quickstart schema as a new source package and implement a
postinst script to install it.

Bug#723742: ITP: python-naturalsort -- Simple natural order sorting API for Python that just works

2013-09-19 Thread Cyril Bouthors
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: python-naturalsort
  Version : 1.0.3
  Upstream Author : Peter Odding
* URL or Web page : https://pypi.python.org/pypi/naturalsort
* License : BSD
  Description : Simple natural order sorting API for Python that just
works

 The ``natsort.natsort()`` function in the ``naturalsort`` package is a very
 simple alternative to Python's ``sorted()`` function that implements
`natural
 order sorting`_ in Python. The package is available on PyPI, so getting
started
 is very simple:
 .
   $ pip install naturalsort
   $ python
from natsort import natsort
versions = ['1.8.1-r26', '1.8.1-r30', '2.0-r2', '2.0-r7', '2.0-r11']
natsort(['my-package-%s' % v for v in versions])
   ['my-package-1.8.1-r26',
'my-package-1.8.1-r30',
'my-package-2.0-r2',
'my-package-2.0-r7',
'my-package-2.0-r11']
 .
 The main use case that this package was originally created for is sorting
of
 pathnames with versions numbers embedded in them. This is why the sorting
key
 defined by the ``naturalsort`` package ignores filename extensions (not
doing
 so can give unexpected results).

Bug#703645: packaging Postgres binary dump files

2013-09-19 Thread Martijn van Oosterhout
On 19 September 2013 14:42, Daniel Pocock dan...@pocock.com.au wrote:

 PostBooks distributes their schema as a Postgres binary dump file for
 use with pg_restore

 They are available for download here (not in the source tarball):

 http://sourceforge.net/projects/postbooks/files/03%20PostBooks-databases/4.1.0/

 Is this format suitable for making a source package or do we need to
 load it into Postgres and then pg_dump it again as text / SQL?

 I would prefer to simply distribute the original files so that people
 can compare with upstream's checksums if they wish.

FWIW, you can convert the file to text using pg_restore, you don't actually
need a running database server. It's really just a compressed tarball and
should be treated as such. That is, I think it can be included as-is.
Unless you're thinking of patching it, in which case you need to think of
something else.

Have a nice day,

  Programming Lang: C, Perl
  Description : fast protein contact predictor - binding for Perl

 FreeContact is a protein residue contact predictor optimized for speed.
 Its input is a multiple sequence alignment. FreeContact can function as an
 accelerated drop-in for the published contact predictors
 EVfold-mfDCA of DS. Marks (2011) and
 PSICOV of D. Jones (2011).
 .
 FreeContact is accelerated by a combination of vector instructions, multiple
 threads, and faster implementation of key parts.
 Depending on the alignment, 8-fold or higher speedups are possible.
 .
 A sufficiently large alignment is required for meaningful results.
 As a minimum, an alignment with an effective (after-weighting) sequence count
 bigger than the length of the query sequence should be used. Alignments with
 tens of thousands of (effective) sequences are considered good input.
 .
 jackhmmer(1) from the hmmer package, or hhblits(1) from hhsuite
 can be used to generate the alignments, for example.
 .
 This package contains the Perl binding.

Bug#459219: guess the only thing remaining is the android emulator ?

2013-09-19 Thread shirish शिरीष
Hi all,
Is the only thing remaining the android emulator or something else ?

Also, from the discussion on the thread it seems that the android emulator is
modified qemu. Does anybody if that is still the case or not ?

It would be nice to know if somebody is working on it ?

Maybe it could conflict the qemu or qemu-system package .

Looking forward to know.

Bug#723771: ITP: python-freecontact -- fast protein contact predictor - binding for Python

2013-09-19 Thread Laszlo Kajan
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Laszlo Kajan lka...@debian.org

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

* Package name: python-freecontact
  Version : 1.1
  Upstream Author : Laszlo Kajan lka...@rostlab.org
* URL : http://rostlab.org/
* License : GPL-3+
  Programming Lang: C++, Python
  Description : fast protein contact predictor - binding for Python

FreeContact is a protein residue contact predictor optimized for speed.
Its input is a multiple sequence alignment. FreeContact can function as an
accelerated drop-in for the published contact predictors
EVfold-mfDCA of DS. Marks (2011) and
PSICOV of D. Jones (2011).

FreeContact is accelerated by a combination of vector instructions, multiple
threads, and faster implementation of key parts.
Depending on the alignment, 8-fold or higher speedups are possible.

A sufficiently large alignment is required for meaningful results.
As a minimum, an alignment with an effective (after-weighting) sequence count
bigger than the length of the query sequence should be used. Alignments with
tens of thousands of (effective) sequences are considered good input.

jackhmmer(1) from the hmmer package, or hhblits(1) from hhsuite
can be used to generate the alignments, for example.

This package contains the Python binding.

Bug#723778: RFP: thumbor -- thumbor is a photo thumbnail service

  Description : thumbor is a photo thumbnail service

Thumbor is a smart imaging service. It enables on-demand crop,
resizing and flipping of images.

It also features a VERY smart detection of important points in the
image for better cropping and resizing, using state-of-the-art face
and feature detection algorithms (more on that in Detection
Algorithms).

Using thumbor is very easy (after it is running). All you have to do
is access it using an url for an image, like this:
