Bug#724474: ITP: grub-legacy-doc -- Documentation for GRUB Legacy

2013-09-24 Thread Colin Watson
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Colin Watson cjwat...@debian.org

* Package name: grub-legacy-doc
  Version : 0.97
  Upstream Author : bug-g...@gnu.org
* URL : http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/grub-legacy.html
* License : GFDL
Description : Documentation for GRUB Legacy

http://bugs.debian.org/708946 reports that the GRUB Legacy info
documentation is non-free due to the use of the GFDL 1.2 with
Front-Cover and Back-Cover Texts (cf.
http://www.debian.org/vote/2006/vote_001). The GRUB 2 info
documentation does not have this problem; but GRUB Legacy is
aggressively in maintenance mode and I do not expect to get upstream
approval to adjust its licensing.

I think the most practical resolution involving spending the least
effort on GRUB Legacy is to split off its documentation into a source
package in non-free.

Flight Gear is a free and highly sophisticated flight simulator.

Since my time may be limited in the future, I am seeking comaintainers
for the Flight Gear packages in Debian.

I have created a project for this on alioth.debian.org. I've loaded the
current packaging into a Subversion repository there.

Currently, there are 4 source packages:
- simgear: libraries
- flightgear: binaries
- fgfs-base: data files
- fgfs-atlas: moving map utility

I'd welcome efforts to improve the current packages (for example, making
a ready-to-use TerraSync configuration for automatic download of scenery)
and/or add more packages, including making packages with extra aircraft.
I haven't had time to do anything of the sort myself.

Bug#724458: RFP: diskscan -- Scan disk for bad or near failure sectors

2013-09-24 Thread Eriberto
Hi Francois and Baruch!

How are you?

I liked of the program idea and philosofy. I am thinking to maintain
it on Debian. However, I wasn't able to compile the code on
Wheezy/Sid. Please, see the errors:

---

I think it is an upstream code problem. Can you help me, if it was a
mistake of mine, or provide a new (updated) code?

Have a nice day!

Regards,

Eriberto

Converts a CGI query into structured data using a dotted name
convention similar to TT2. expand_cgi works with CGI.pm,
Apache::Request or anything with an appropriate param method. Or you
 can use expand_hash directly.
 .
If you prefer to use a different flattening convention then CGI::Expand
 can be subclassed.

Bug#620272: Status report

2013-09-24 Thread Jonathan Dowland
Might it be possible to call the package name dwarf-therapist? I won't
go as far as to suggest renaming any binaries or other references to the
package. However, there's one other possible parsing of dwarftherapist
which can take you back, somewhat, until you figure out where you went
wrong. For those who will not install or use the package, but will see
the conjoined name in package lists from time to time, it might be nice
to spell out the conjunction with a dash.

Bug#512360: offer to help with openldap

2013-09-24 Thread Ryan Tandy
Hi,

I'd like to volunteer to help with OpenLDAP in Debian.

As part of my day job I run OpenLDAP on 16 (give or take) Ubuntu
servers and follow openldap-technical. We currently run customized
OpenLDAP packages based on the Ubuntu packaging. I have the freedom to
test packages in staging and production.

I maintain one small package in Debian, and several private ones for
my employer. I'm not a DD or DM.

I would really like to see the OpenLDAP packages in Debian and Ubuntu
brought up to date and improved.

How could I make myself useful to this team? What would be an
effective way to spend some effort?

Thanks
Ryan

Bug#535073: Update

2013-09-24 Thread Brandon
This is an update.

I've been submitting packages to mentors. I've just submitted a Debian
package of the recently released version 4.0:
https://mentors.debian.net/package/dolphin-emu

Olly just submitted wxwidgets 2.9 to NEW. It should appear in
experimental soon. I've been using Glenn's wxwidgets Ubuntu PPA
packages: https://launchpad.net/~glennric/+archive/dolphin-emu
