Bug#725463: ITP: metawarej -- Java framework for creating web-based business applications

2013-10-05 Thread Kostas Papadopoulos
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Kostas Papadopoulos

* Package name: metawarej
  Version : 3.3
  Upstream Author : Kostas Papadopoulos
* URL : http://www.methodosit.com.cy/metawarej.html
* License : AGPL-3
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : Java framework for creating web-based business applications

MetaWareJ is a framework for creating web-based business applications with
emphasis on data input, validation and processing, based on client's
requirements
and rules.

Applications built with MetaWareJ are Java web applications but other
clients exists such as swing and plain command line.
It can produce a variety of outputs such as charts, PDF reports,
CSV exports etc. Screens are simple and homogeneous, the programmer does not
have to spend any time to maintain them.
The programmer defines the data to be retrieved, the updating of tables,
the validations and the screen content in a very simple MetaWareJ XML
language. Producing outputs of different formats does not require any
re-programming (or designing) of the output.

MetaWareJ has a very good tutorial and user guide included in the package.

License are not my cup of tea.

To be frank, I also noticed the issue, so I asked to the upstream maintainer
to clarify the license of his software library.

He answered that he will but as he seemed overwhelmed I step forward.
After my deposit, he confirmed his wish and will to revisit his policy and
the packaging, but first he has to deal with a project dead line.

Ok, I will forward your remarks to the upstream maintainer.

Let say that his software holds in a long C++ header: from a C++ point of view
it makes sense, I guess.

I am aware: I also asked to the upstream maintainer to provide a source tarball
compatible with Debian watch. We are working on it: some appropriate tweaks at
bitbucket.org, where is maintained its mercurial repository, may bring
appropriate
material.

As soon as both the License issues are fixed by the upstream maintainer and an
appropriate source tarball is provided, I will revisit accordingly the Debian
package.

Thanks.

Best wishes,
Jerome

Bug#725430: ITP: libxml-catalog-perl -- Perl module for resolving public and remapping system identifiers

2013-10-05 Thread Florian Schlichting
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Florian Schlichting

* Package name: libxml-catalog-perl
  Version : 1.0.0
  Upstream Author : Jeff Fearn jfe...@cpan.org
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/XML-Catalog
* License : GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Perl module for resolving public and remapping system
identifiers

XML::Catalog implements draft 0.4 of John Cowan's XML Catalog (formerly
known as XCatalog) proposal Catalogs may be written in either SOCAT or
XML syntax; XML::Catalog will assume SOCAT syntax if the catalog is not
in well-formed XML syntax.
.
This module, as of 1.0.0, also supports Oasis XML catalogs.

libxml-catalog-perl used to be part of Debian until 2009, when it was
removed because it hadn't seen upstream releases in almost a decade, and
the draft spec it implemented had long been superseded (#519943). As of
version 1.0.0, it now supports the adopted "Oasis XML catalogs" spec,
and since it is a new dependency of libxml-treebuilder-perl, I have
decided to reintroduce it to Debian, this time under the umbrella of the
Debian Perl Team instead of the Debian XML/SGML Group, where it used to
be maintained by Ardo van Rangelrooij.

Bug#725407: RFA: nauty -- command line tools to compute graph automorphisms

2013-10-05 Thread David Bremner
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256

I request an adopter for the nauty package.

The package description is:
 nauty (no automorphisms, yes?) is a set of procedures for determining
 the automorphism group of a vertex-coloured graph. It provides this
 information in the form of a set of generators, the size of the
 group, and the orbits of the group. It is also able to produce a
 canonically-labelled isomorph of the graph, to assist in isomorphism
 testing. This package provides the main command line tool dreadnaut,
 and some utilities ('gtools'). A C API is also available.

Jerome Benoit has privately expresed interest.

You might want to adjust debian/README.source to reflect the current
reality.

Unfortunately I lost the Samsung Galaxy S I was going to use to test
this with FSO and oFono so I won't be able to package libsamsung-ipc any
more. I would still like to see it in Debian and I hope that someone
else who has a Samsung based phone (two CCed) will package it. I
continue to will work with upstream (CCed) to resolve the issues that I
identified when I was packaging the code.
