Bug#726698: ITP: puppet-module-puppetlabs-xinetd -- The xinetd module let you manage xinetd with Puppet

2013-10-18 Thread Jonathan Dowland
It's good to see puppet modules being packaged for Debian.

Is there a team under which such efforts are coordinated? Are they being
managed in a vcs?

I'd suggest flipping the order of the two paragraphs in the long description:
put the text which describes the module first, and the text which explains
puppet second. I'd also suggest a shorter and more impartial puppet description
such as

Puppet is a declarative configuration management tool for handling
heterogeneous collections of hosts

Bug#691685: Packaging

2013-10-18 Thread Julian Cable
Hi,

I have packaged these using the openSUSE build system here:
http://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:juliancable/dream

Because of the way OBS works with multiple distros, and because I'm not an
expert in Debian packaging, I am sure these are not complete for inclusion in
Debian and I am seeking help with completing the packaging and with either
finding a maintainer to submit the package or with becoming a maintainer.

Bug#726698: ITP: puppet-module-puppetlabs-xinetd -- The xinetd module let you manage xinetd with Puppet

2013-10-18 Thread Thomas Bechtold
Hi Jonathan,

On 10/18/2013 09:52 AM, Jonathan Dowland wrote:

 Is there a team under which such efforts are coordinated? Are they being
 managed in a vcs?

There's a team on alioth[1] and the packages are all managed in git[2].
Packages from forge.puppetlabs.com can be semi-automatically created
with a python script[3]

 I'd suggest flipping the order of the two paragraphs in the long description:
 put the text which describes the module first, and the text which explains
 puppet second. I'd also suggest a shorter and more impartial puppet
 description such as

 Puppet is a declarative configuration management tool for handling
 heterogeneous collections of hosts

We currently use the same base description for every puppet package. I'm
open to change this to a shorter description and switch the order.

Cheers,

Tom

Parse strings using a specification based on the Python format() syntax.

   ``parse()`` is the opposite of ``format()``

The module is set up to only export ``parse()``, ``search()`` and
``findall()`` when ``import *`` is used:

 from parse import *

From there it's a simple thing to parse a string:

 parse(It's {}, I love it!, It's spam, I love it!)
Result ('spam',) {}

'spam'

Bug#677846: Could you provide text data for mimeTypeExtensions in RCurl?

2013-10-18 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Duncan,

I'm trying to package RCurl for Debian. Our ftpmasters recently
decided[1] that for any RData file shipped inside an R source package
which is not some measured data or so some human readable file and a
conversion script to produce the *.rda file should be shipped.

Could you help me (as a quite uneducated person in R - I just need
RCurl as some prerequisite for other software) to fit this criterion?

Kind regards and thanks for providing RCurl as free software

  Andreas.

Bug#726769: O: tslib

2013-10-18 Thread Neil Williams
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I'm no longer developing code for touchscreens, I have
no remaining interest in maintaining tslib. I've checked
with Hector, he doesn't want to maintain tslib any longer
either. The GPE team itself is likely to disband and GPE
itself removed from Debian later as GPE consists of leaf
packages.

As tslib has reverse dependencies, I'm orphaning it in the
hope that it can find a new maintainer.

Mode S is the transponder protocol used in modern commercial aircraft.

ADS-B-equipped aircraft broadcast (squitter) their position, velocity,
flight number, and other interesting information to any receiver within
range of the aircraft. Position reports are typically generated once per
second and flight indentification every five seconds.

This package has the two main end-user applications modes_rx and modes_gui.

  Description : test configuration plugin for nosetests

 nose-testconfig is a plugin to the nose test framework which provides a
 faculty for passing test-specific (or test-run specific) configuration data to
 the tests being executed.
 .
 Currently configuration files in the following formats are supported:
   * YAML (via python-yaml)
   * INI (via ConfigParser)
   * Pure Python (via Exec)
   * JSON
 .
 The plugin is meant to be flexible, ergo the support of exec'ing arbitrary
 Python files as configuration files with no checks. The default format is
 assumed to be ConfigParser ini-style format.
 .
 The plugin provides a method of overriding certain parameters from the command
 line (assuming that the main config object is a dict) and can easily have
 additional parsers added to it.
 .
 A configuration file may not be provided. In this case, the config object is an
 emtpy dict. Any command line overriding paramters will be added to the dict.

  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : extends Nose with certain TestNG like features

 Proboscis is a Python test framework that extends Python's built-in unittest
 module and Nose with features from TestNG.
 .
 TestNG is a testing framework inspired from JUnit and NUnit but introducing
 some new functionalities that make it more powerful and easier to use.
 .
 Features:
  * Uses decorators instead of naming conventions.
  * Allows for TestNG style test methods, in which a class is initialized once,
as an alternative to using class fields (see the example below).
  * Allows for explicit test dependencies and skipping of dependent tests on
failures.
  * Runs xUnit style clases if desired or needed for backwards compatability.
  * Uses Nose if available (but doesn't require it), and works with many of
its plugins.

  Description : multiple default gateway support for ifupdown

 This package integrates support for multiple default gateways on
 independent network connections into the Debian ifupdown network
 interface configuration system. It adds new multi_* options to the
 /etc/network/interface file format in order to more easily configure
 Linux's policy based routing.
 .
 The policy information used to configure each network interface using
 ifupdown-multi is saved when ifup is run. This allows network
 interfaces using ifupdown-multi to be brought up or down cleanly as
 needed.
