Bug#737045: ITP: htpdate -- HTTP based time synchronization tool

2014-01-29 Thread intrigeri
Hi,

note that we at Tails (https://tails.boum.org/) have been maintaining
our own version of the Perl version of htpdate for years, since
upstream never replied any of our merge requests, so I'm not convinced
at all that shipping the upstream code into Debian is a good an idea.

Have you discussed with upstream about this? Do you know for a fact
that they're still maintaining this piece of software? (Disclaimer:
I've not checked if they have been releasing anything new recently.)

FWIW, our code is there: http://git.tails.boum.org/htp/

Cheers,

Fair enough. The Perl version
(http://www.vervest.org/htp/archive/perl/) has seen no release since
2005, but I'm glad upstream is still somewhat active on the C version
at least.

I had no use for it outside of the threat model of Tails,
and nobody ever asked for it.

I request an adopter for the pykerberos package.

The package description is:
This Python package is a high-level wrapper for Kerberos (GSSAPI) operations.
The goal is to avoid having to build a module that wraps the entire
Kerberos.framework, and instead offer a limited set of functions that do what
is needed for client/server Kerberos authentication based on
 .
 .
Much of the C-code here is adapted from Apache's mod_auth_kerb-5.0rc7.

Bug#702300: Uploaded to experimental (pending approval) - Was: Re: More or less done packaging rdflib 4.0.1 (incl. Python 3) : need review

2014-01-29 Thread Olivier Berger
Hi.

FYI, I've just uploaded the package to exeprimental, and it is now
sitting in the NEW queue :
https://ftp-master.debian.org/new/rdflib_4.0.1-1.html

As the package is meant to be in collab-maint / team maintained, I hope
that you're still OK, Christian (I've kept you as Maintainer, and me as
uploader).

I'd appreciate more test reports, of course (until the package is
approved, grab the sources from the Git tag debian/4.0.1-1 [1]).

I'll start pinging the rdepends maintainers, so that we can expect a
smooth transition.

At last I hope we'll have a more usable rdflib in Debian.

Note that a newer release has appeared upstream, but I'm not sure
there's a hurry, so I'll already be happy to have feedback on 4.0.1 for
now (hoping that the changes upstream won't impact the packaging much).

Best regards,

Bug#736645: netty3.9 package available

2014-01-29 Thread Emmanuel Bourg
Hi Hilko,

I tried to build this package but it failed with a compilation error:

/home/ebourg/packaging/netty/src/main/java/org/jboss/netty/handler/codec/protobuf/ProtobufDecoder.java:[122,32]
error: cannot find symbol
  symbol:   method getParserForType()
location: variable prototype of type MessageLite
/home/ebourg/packaging/netty/src/main/java/org/jboss/netty/handler/codec/protobuf/ProtobufDecoder.java:[128,32]
error: cannot find symbol

Other points:

- the Vcs-* URLs are still pointing to the SVN repository
- maven-repo-helper is a dependency of maven-debian-helper, no need to
declare it explicitly
- debian/copyright has an old Format URI

FOSDEM key list

Key signing is really in need of a program that eases interchange of keys.
KeySigningPartyTools generates a pdf with qr codes and visual hints for the
fingerprints that allows faster processing and avoid manual errors. It process
the qr codes afterwards with the help of a webcam as well.

It also automatically checks that the keys scanned match the keys downloaded
before you sign them.

zfSnap is a simple sh script to make rolling zfs snapshots with cron. The main
advantage of zfSnap is it's written in 100% pure /bin/sh so it doesn't require
 any additional software to run.
 .
zfSnap keeps all information about snapshot in snapshot name.
 .
zfs snapshot names are in the format of Timestamp--TimeToLive.
 .
Timestamp includes the date and time when the snapshot was created and
TimeToLive (TTL) is the amount of time for the snapshot to stay alive before
 it's ready for deletion.

Bug#736653: RFP: spatial4j -- a general purpose spatial/geospatial Java library

2014-01-29 Thread Emmanuel Bourg
The upstream/0.3 tag is missing. Once added it builds fine with
git-buildpackage.

In the binary package it's preferable to use 'debian' as the generic
version for the Maven artifacts instead of '0.x'. This will avoid
updating the reverse dependencies once the library reaches the version
1.0. The 'n.x' substitution should be used only when two versions of the
same project are packaged (for example junit 3 and 4).

Is it possible to add a watch file for this package?

What makes it better than the standard file?
It is located at /usr/share/vim/vim74/syntax/markdown.vim
I assume it is better, perhaps the description should say why.

My intention was to look after it until a maintainer could be found.
That why I just changed it to an RFA rather than adopting it out
right. At this point it doesn't look like anyone is interested. It's
probably time to let it go.

Thanks!
