Bug#740793: RFA: x-tile

2014-03-04 Thread Ricardo Mones
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I don't use x-tile currently, and neither have the time nor
the motivation to maintain it, so I'd prefer some other to do
it properly.

Said that, it should not be difficult at all to maintain, as
upstream has been inactive for years.

I'm open to sponsorship, so you don't need to be an uploading
developer right now, but you should be in your way to become one.

An RFP bugreport means that you want someone else to package this. If
_you_ want to work on it, you should create an ITP.

In general, we welcome any contributions (and will sponsor uploads when
the package fulfills our quality criteria), as long as they are
maintained as part of pkg-go. Feel free to reach out to us at
#debian-golang if you have questions.

Bug#740753: RFP: packer -- create vm images for multiple platforms from a single source configuration

2014-03-04 Thread Emmanuel Kasper
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: packer
  Version : 0.5.2
  Upstream Author : Mitchell Hashimoto
* URL : http://www.packer.io/
* License : Mozilla Public License v2
  Programming Lang: Go >= 1.2
Description : create vm images for multiple platforms from a single
source configuration

Packer is a lightweight tool for create machine images for multiple platforms
in parallel.
Packer comes out of the box with support for creating AMIs (EC2), KVM,
Openstack and VirtualBox images. Support for more platforms can be added via
plugins.
The images that Packer creates can easily be turned into Vagrant boxes.

Extra notes:

I had a look about the way packer works for Virtualbox and contrary to
existing chroot-based tools, packer uses the debian-installer by preseeding
a local http server.

I am interested in packaging packer ! With the aim one day of creating
official debian images for VirtualBox, though I would wait before to know if
someone is willing to upload the resulting work in the archive.

Bug#734380: retitle 734380 to ITP: pysshmenu -- Menu for quick connections to your remote hosts

2014-03-04 Thread Olivier Berger
retitle 734380 ITP: pysshmenu -- Menu for quick connections to your remote hosts
owner 734380 !
thanks

Hi.

I intent to package pysshmenu (as a replacement for sshmenu, which got removed
from testing), as part of PAPT.

Description: Menu for quick connections to your remote hosts
SSHMenu is a simple GUI app that provides a menu for initiating SSH
connections. Select a host from the menu and up pops a new terminal
window containing an SSH session to the selected host.
 .
pySSHMenu is a port of SSHMenu to Python and Gtk 3 that runs as an
AppIndicator or StatusIcon rather than as an applet. pySSHMenu reads
and writes your old SSHMenu configuration files to make transitioning
 easy.

I'd welcome a review of the current state if anyone is interested
(https://github.com/olberger/pySSHMenu/tree/debian).

If there's no objection, I'll try to inject it in the PAPT SVN soon.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

I've a package of 1.1.13, but can't remember how good is it. I think
I was waiting for the release of 2.0 , which is still just an alpha.
If I give you the package, can you test it with limesurvey?

Has the license situation of cc65 changed? In case it is now licensed in

thanks

I changed my mind about packaging this gem.

I think I can solve my requirement with ruby-octokit gem.

I also think libgit2 and ruby-rugged should mature before being
included in an stable release.

Right now:

* libgit2 is only available in experimental.
* ruby-rugged embeds a copy of libgit2 source code.
* Some ruby-rugged unit tests are failing on me (of course, this could
be some misconfiguration on my side but I don't have time to
  debug it).

QJoyPad takes input from a gamepad or joystick and translates it into key
strokes or mouse actions,
letting you control any XWindows program with your game controller. This lets
you play all those
games that for some reason don't have joystick support with your joystick.
QJoyPad also gives you
the advantage of multiple saved layouts so you can have a separate setting for
every game, or for
every class of game!

GAP is a system for computational discrete algebra with particular
emphasis on computational group theory, but which has already proved
useful also in other areas.

This package allows GAP to import and export mathematical objects
encoded in OpenMath, for the purpose of exchanging them with other
applications that are OpenMath enabled.

Package name: xmlstreambuffer
Version : 1.5.1
Upstream Author : Oracle
URL : http://xmlstreambuffer.java.net/
License : CDDL or GPL with classpath exception, Apache2.0
Programming Lang: Java
Description : XML Stream Buffer
A stream buffer is a stream-based representation of an XML
info-set in Java. Stream buffers are designed to: provide
very efficient stream-based memory representations of XML
info-sets; and be created and processed using any Java-based
 XML API.
 .
Conceptually a stream buffer is similar to the representation
used in the Xerces deferred DOM implementation, with the crucial
difference that a stream buffer does not store hierarchical
information like parent and sibling information. The deferred
DOM implementation reduces memory usage when large XML documents
are parsed but only a subset of the document needs to be processed.
(Note that using deferred DOM will be more expensive than
non-deferred DOM in terms of memory and processing if all
 the document is traversed.)
 .
Stream buffers may be used as an efficient alternative to DOM where:
 * most or all of an XML info-set will eventually get traversed; and/or
 * targeted access to certain parts of an XML info-set are required
and need to be efficiently processed using stream-based APIs like
   SAX or StAX.

 Version : 1.3.2
 Upstream Author : Mike Pultz
 URL : http://pear.php.net/
 License : BSD License
 Programming Lang: PHP
Description : PHP5 Resolver library used to communicate with a DNS server.
Provides (roughly) the same functionality as Net_DNS, but using PHP5 objects,
exceptions for error handling, better sockets support.

This release is (in most cases) 2x - 10x faster than Net_DNS, as well as
includes more RR's (including DNSSEC RR's), and improved sockets and streams
support.

I'm packaging this as part of Horde5 packaging.

Bug#727085: Taking over packaging in Debian.

I'm putting work on like dropping support for the forked libevent HTTP server,
using alternatives for the php5-cli/cgi binaries to be able to replace them, no
init scripts for now, compiling folly statically (or at the very least not as a
different package), getting rid of third-party stuff, releasing proper tarballs
in hhvm.com, merging the nightly packages with my work, and those are off the
top of my head.

\o/ This list is awesome David, as is the rest of your work so far.
Let's document this and others under debian/TODO.

Thanks for this and apologies to you, Paul & team for not having made
much progress on this since we last spoke.

I took a look at the collab-maint repository and submitted a bunch of
commits -- I had already prepared a very similar list of Build-Depends
myself in the early work I had locally, so I merged mine into yours and
fixed some other collateral issues I found. Please review!

Thanks again and I hope we can find ways to collaborate to make an
awesome HHVM package in Debian :)

Best,
Faidon
