Now git-remote-bzr has graduated to its own upstream. Reopening as a
reminder to package it. (Or if someone else gets to it before me, I
won't mind.)

Yep. Marking so.

I'm happy to sponsor once a package is ready. The main missing bit is
registering git-remote-hg through the alternatives system to avoid
having to conflict with other hg remote helpers.

I make use of Silex for various micro applications. Those are packaged
as .deb packages and each of those packages embed its own Silex (and
Twig an Pimple and so on). Instead of trying to maintain this growing
embed hell any longer, I decided to get rid of it and instead do
something more reasonable by maintaining Silex inside Debian.

Great! Do you have any particular reason for wanting Silex in Debian, is
it a dependency for something else? (That’s just me being curious,
you’re free to ignore that question.)

> I saw you just opened an ITP for Pimple. Thanks a lot for that.

You’re welcome. Given how small it is, and that I already use it, the
upload will happen really soon™ anyway (with its test suite enable for
ci.d.n too).

Nice, some Symfony 2 Components may need to be packaged, but since some
already are, their packaging should be really straightforward (I’d
advise to take case of one of those as a start, ask for review within
the team, and once everything is fine, continue with the others).

I definitely intend to put Silex under the umbrella of the PHP PEAR
Maintainers team. I guess I should have mentioned that in the ITP (and
CC pkg-php-pear).

I saw you just opened an ITP for Pimple. Thanks a lot for that. I did
not check which other dependencies are missing for Silex in Debian. But
I think there is an ongoing effort to package Symfony2 components for
Debian and I would be willing to join.

Greetings
Daniel

  Version : 1.0.2
  Upstream Author : Fabien Potencier
* URL : http://pimple.sensiolabs.org/

Description : simple dependency injection container

Creating a container is a matter of instating the Pimple class.
 .
As many other dependency injection containers, Pimple is able to manage
two different kind of data: services and parameters.

This very small class is currently embedded in owncloud, and since
another upcoming package (Silex) is depending on it, it’s time to
maintain it on its own, under the PHP PEAR Maintainers umbrella.

Description : Fast and scalable C++ machine learning library

MLPACK (Machine Learning PACK) is an intuitive, fast, and scalable C++
machine learning library, meant to be a machine learning analog to
LAPACK. It aims to implement a wide array of machine learning methods
and function as a "swiss army knife" for machine learning researchers.

Upstream has been notified of this ITP, and is encouraging.

For a preliminary packaging, see
 git://anonscm.debian.org/debian-science/packages/mlpack.git

Most of the lintian issues are due to doxygen generating bogus man
pages. Excepting those, I'd hope to either address or report the issues
to upstream for most of the others before uploading.

First let me say I am a user, not the maintainer. However, this package
seems to have been abandoned by its maintainer. There have been no version
changes since August 2013. Is it possible to give someone else the
responsibility of packaging this DE?

Thanks,

Bug#748847: ITP: r-cran-expm -- GNU R Computation of the matrix exponential and related quantities

2014-05-21 Thread Andreas Tille
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andreas Tille

* Package name: r-cran-expm
  Version : 0.99-1.1
Upstream Author : Martin Maechler and others
* URL : http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/expm/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: R
Description : GNU R Computation of the matrix exponential and related
quantities
The matrix exponential GNU R package enables computation of the matrix
 exponential and related quantities.

Remark: This package is a new dependency for r-cran-msm and required to
upgrade. It is maintained by the Debian Science team at

  svn://anonscm.debian.org/debian-science/packages/R/r-cran-expm/trunk/

Regarding the license I added the following comment to debian/copyright:

Comment: The CRAN policy is to encourage package authors to no include
the license text "to save space". We as in Debian are aware that this
is illegal strictly speaking but it seems we will not solve this issue
package wise with every single package author. The better solution
would be to form an Debian R team which should discuss this with CRAN
 maintainers in general.

Bug#748834: ITP: silex -- php micro framework

Please consider maintaining it inside the PHP PEAR Maintainers team
(there are many Composer packages in the team too), with its reverse
dependencies (some Symfony 2 Components are already there). I’m willing
to take care of Pimple if that’s OK with you (we already ship an
embedded copy in owncloud, and I’d be happy to get rid of it, your ITP
motivates me to finally do that).

Regards

David

Hi.

Your upload of the package 'jamnntpd' to mentors.debian.net was
successful. Others can now see it. The URL of your package is:
http://mentors.debian.net/package/jamnntpd

The respective dsc file can be found at:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/j/jamnntpd/jamnntpd_1.2-1.dsc

If you do not yet have a sponsor for your package you may want to go to

You can also send an RFS (request for sponsorship) to the debian-mentors

send that mail.

Good luck in finding a sponsor!

Thanks,
