If this (old) ITP is about multiple packages, there should probably be
more than one bug. Since there has not been any action in the last few
years, there is probably not much point keeping it open.

Furthermore, eZcomponents has been renamed as Zeta Components in the
mean time. php-zeta-base and php-zeta-console-tools have recently been
uploaded to Debian. If that covers the spirit of that ITP, maybe should
it be closed.

 Plack::Middleware::Deflater is a middleware to encode your response
 body in gzip or deflate, based on Accept-Encoding HTTP request header.
 It would save the bandwidth a little bit but should increase the Plack
 server load, so ideally you should handle this on the frontend reverse
 proxy servers.

The module is needed (optionally) for testsuite of libfurl-perl.
It will be maintained in the Debian Perl Team.

Or printf in bash, or the correct use of "ibase" and "obase" in bc...

We really have way too many ways to convert between bases already.

Bug#686924: Taking over the packaging

2014-05-24 Thread Ole Streicher
Dear Benda,

it is nice to hear that you are going to take over the Casacore
packaging! I gave it up since I don't have enough manpower and
concentrated on other astronomy packages. Since then, however, there was
an interest of Gijs Molenaar , who wanted to package
casacore for the use in LOFAR. It would be good if you could contact him
to join efforts, and to make sure that the package will fullfill his
requirements as well.

Did you know that, since a few months, we have a Debian Astronomy
Working group? I'll forward this mail to our mailing list [1], and I
would encourage you to join this group as well [2]. If you already have
something for review, it would also be nice to post it there. I still
can't sponsor the package myself, but I can help finding a sponsor then
(if you are not a Debian Developer yourself).

Since you are going to develop a customized Debian version for use in
Astronomy: One of our aims the the development of a "Debian Astronomy
Blend", which is exactly what you are planning as well [3]. So, also
here it would be good if you could "come over", since up to now nobody
had time to work on that.

If you were interested, please contact me directly, or (preferrable)
over the mailing list to see how we can profit from each other.

Best regards

Ole

Bug#742704: ImplicitCad in Debian

2014-05-24 Thread Christopher Olah
Hey Bas,

Presently, I no longer maintain ImplicitCAD. I've been pretty poor
about handling this. I put it out temporarily to work on some other
stuff and ended up getting pulled away. Now I work full time on
machine learning research. I just don't have the cycles to keep
another project in my head anymore. :/

In any case, right now there's no upstream for ImplicitCAD. I've
spoken to a few people who were interested in taking over maintenance,
but they haven't ended up doing so.

ImplicitCAD, unfortunately, has a bunch of rough corners. Mostly,
these deal with the computational costs of rendering objects at high
resolutions and rendering issues at low resolutions.

If you're interested, I'll try and pull together remaining interest in
ImplicitCAD and see if we can find a new maintainer. It'll need to
wait until after the NIPS submission deadline, though.

All the best,

Chris

Bug#686924: Taking over the packaging

2014-05-24 Thread heroxbd
Dear Ole Streicher,

Thank you very much for the initial work! I managed to clone out the
repo[1] before you decided to delete it.

We are packaging casacore 1.6.0 [2] basing on your work, under the
project of AireLinux[3], a working-in-progress debian-based distribution
for astrophysics initiated by Tsinghua Center for Astrophysics[4].

If you canceled the packaging for lacking of manpower, we sincerely ask
you to consider rejoining (or taking lead of) the effort. We have
talented astrophysics students with *nix system administration
experience getting recruited for packaging of the start-of-art
tools. Also, feel free to mentor and review our progress if your time is
limited.

Besides, casacore is in the gentoo official tree brought by the
gentoo-science team[5], from which many distribution-level patches could
be borrowed.

We are only a few steps away from the final upload. Let's give it a
kick, shall we?

Cheers,

Bug#513646: Update wnpp info

2014-05-24 Thread Daniel Beyer
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Daniel Beyer

* Package name: php-symfony-components
  Version : 2.4.5
  Upstream Author : Fabien Potencier
* URL : http://symfony.com/
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: php
  Description : Reusable set of php components

 The Symfony Components is a reusable set of standalone, decoupled
 and cohesive components. They are written in php with the goal to
 solve common web development problems. They form the base of the
 Symfony full-stack web framework.

Currently only a few components of the currently 28 available ones
are packaged for Debian. This is a new approach to have all the
components in Debian and maintain them as a whole (under the umbrella
of PHP PEAR Maintainers).

Preliminary discussion started on pkg-php-pear list:

Bug#749121: ITP: libplack-test-anyevent-perl -- run Plack::Test on AnyEvent-based PSGI applications

2014-05-24 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jonas Smedegaard

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

* Package name: libplack-test-anyevent-perl
  Version : 0.05
  Upstream Author : Rob Hoelz
* URL : https://github.com/hoelzro/plack-test-anyevent
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : run Plack::Test on AnyEvent-based PSGI applications

 Plack::Test::AnyEvent allows you to easily test your AnyEvent-based
 PSGI applications.  Normally, Plack::Test::MockHTTP or
 Plack::Test::Server work fine for this, but this implementation comes
 in handy when you'd like to test your streaming results as they come
 in, or if your application uses long-polling. For non-streaming
 requests, you can use this module exactly like Plack::Test::MockHTTP;
 otherwise, you can set up a content handler and call $res->recv. The
 event loop will then run until the PSGI application closes its writer
 handle or until your test client calls send on the response.

This package improves testsuite of libplack-middleware-deflater-perl.
It will be maintained in the Debian Perl Team.

Bug#749113: ITP: libplack-middleware-deflater-perl -- compress response body with gzip or deflate

Owner: Jonas Smedegaard

Hash: SHA512

* Package name: libplack-middleware-deflater-perl
  Version : 0.12
  Upstream Author : Tatsuhiko Miyagawa
* URL : https://github.com/miyagawa/Plack-Middleware-Deflater
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : compress response body with gzip or deflate

 Plack::Middleware::Deflater is a middleware to encode your response
 body in gzip or deflate, based on Accept-Encoding HTTP request header.
 It would save the bandwidth a little bit but should increase the Plack
 server load, so ideally you should handle this on the frontend reverse
 proxy servers.

The module is needed (optionally) for testsuite of libfurl-perl.
It will be maintained in the Debian Perl Team.
