Bug#749839: ITP: guncat -- cat variant that handles partial encrypted sections of text
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: tony mancill * Package name: guncat Version : 0.92.00 Upstream Author : Frank B. Brokken * URL : http://guncat.sourceforge.net/ * License : GPLv3 Programming Lang: C++ Description : cat variant that handles mixed clear and encrypted text Guncat (Gpg UNencrypting CAT) was designed to tackle a problem encountered with (partially) PGP encrypted files (as encountered, e.g., in mailboxes): the encrypted sections of such files are relatively difficult to browse through. Guncat acts like unix's cat command, but handles (partially) encrypted sections of processed files. Sections of guncat's input files which are surrounded by -BEGIN PGP MESSAGE- and -END PGP MESSAGE- markers are decrypted before being concatenated to the standard output stream. Guncat's output (i.e., the standard output stream) may subsequently be processed by other programs, like grep or less. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Not sure it’s worth banging our heads on the current code that is being rewritten, hopefully Mathieu will manage to include something about it in his current work in progress, and if not, I’d be willing to (help someone) look into it on the new codebase when it will be available. > I'm not sure which version of Symfony to package. I wonder if php-symfony-yaml is still used, but maybe it’s time to take over this (binary) package name? If some packages actually rely on a version higher than 2.3 for php-symfony-yaml, they may still use php-symfony2-yaml, and if there are none (or few), we may start a transition from php-symfony2-yaml to php-symfony-yaml as soon as the php-symfony-yaml binary package will be built from the new symfony source package (not sure it is worth calling it php-symfony BTW). I don't mind helping out with this and I can potentially pull out some of the code from Lumicall to provide a test case for the Java side of this. I can imagine a project like Jitsi using it to handle "tel:" URIs too. I'm wondering if it should be maintained by simply mirroring/cloning the upstream repository or by building a Git repository with git-import-orig from the upstream source tarball? Fredrik, do you foresee moving from SVN to Git any time soon? If not, I may set up a git mirror (I have a script that does this and keeps them in sync) and then I can make changes on a branch more easily. I decided that manually adding all those dependencies to d/control is much too error-prone and found a hackish way to use dh_phpcomposer for that: I simply temporarily symlink the /debian folder on each component's source-dir and run dh_phpcomposer from there). Having a way to tell dh_phpcomposer where to look for composer.json would be great, but I did not found the to check how this could be implemented, yet. I'll add the rest of the 28 components soon and do a license check. I'm not sure which version of Symfony to package. According to upstream's roadmap [1]: - 2.3 series is an LTS and gets security fixes till 05/2017 - 2.4 series gets those till 01/2015 - upcoming 2.5 till 07/2015 - 2.6 most likely will not be released in time for the Jessie freeze In order to benefit the most from upstream's maintenance work, I tend to go back to 2.3 (for Jessie). What's your opinion on that? BTW: I checked the currently packaged components in Debian. Only php-symfony2-yaml has a version newer than 2.3. Bug#749766: ITP: php-doctrine-collections -- collections abstraction library - Doctrine component
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner David Prévot * Package name: php-doctrine-collections Version : 1.2 Upstream Author : Jonathan H. Wage * URL : http://www.doctrine-project.org/ * License : Expat Programming Lang: PHP Description : collections abstraction library - Doctrine component This package provides collections abstraction library used by other Doctrine components. . The Doctrine Project provides several libraries primarily focused on database storage and object mapping. This part is split from php-doctrine-common and thus needed by it in the upcoming 2.4 Doctrine suite packages. Unless explicitly asked to, I don’t intend to open further ITPs for the other Doctrine packages (php-doctrine-$stuff were $stuff is inflector, cache, lexer, annotations and maybe more) I intend to upload in the near future (i.e., all needed internal Doctrine dependencies). As Doctrine itself, this package and its friends will be maintained inside the PHP PEAR (and Composer) Maintainers umbrella. Regards David signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Bug#749713: ITP: python3-pyewmh -- Python3 implementation of Extended Window Manager Hints
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Reuben Thomas * Package name: python-pyewmh Version : 0.2 Upstream Author : Julien Pages * URL : https://github.com/parkouss/pyewmh * License : GPL Programming Lang: Python Description : Python3 implementation of Extended Window Manager Hints This Python3 module implements Extended Window Manager Hints on top of python-xlib. This package is a dependency for Caffeine, which is currently packaged in an Ubuntu PPA: https://launchpad.net/caffeine I intend to package Caffeine for Debian. Caffeine currently includes pyewmh in-tree, but it would obviously be better to package it properly. The package is useful for implementing window managers or extensions to them in Python; I'm not aware of any other similar package, in Debian or not, above the level of python-xlib, on which this package is based. I will need a sponsor for this package. It is mature, so not much maintenance is required. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? This new version of ClanLib doesn't share it's API with the previous version. Then it doesn't replace it but brings with it a lot of new features and code improvement. The package can be found on mentors.debian.net: - mentors page URL: http://mentors.debian.net/cgi-bin/sponsor-pkglist?action=details;package=libclanlib2.2 - URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libclanlib2.2 - Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main contrib non-free -- fabien givors signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Dear all, I no longer intend to package ClanLib for Debian. Reasons are: - I'm no longer using it - I'm no longer coding in C++ - I don't have the knowledge, nor the time×interest×energy to acquire it, to make a proper, clean, good quality Debian package. If someone is still interested in this lib, some work has been done here in Debian-Games team's repositories: git://git.debian.org/git/pkg-games/libclanlib2.git I mentioned the remaining problems in my previous mail. Officially, upstream only supports amd64 architecture. The package works on sse2 capable i386 architectures but the software renderer is practically unusable without those extensions. Using multilib so that the lib wouldn't crash on non-sse2 processors was my intention. Anyone interested in packaging clanlib is welcome to contact me for any request for information.
