Bug#776482: RFA: suckless-tools -- simple commands for minimalistic window managers

2015-01-28 Thread Vasudev Kamath
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

http://copyninja.info
I request an adopter for the suckless-tools package. As I have very
limited time for Debian I can't really take care of this package
anymore.

The package description is:
 This package provides simple commands designed to be used with a minimalistic
 window manager like dwm but they can be useful in scripts regardless of the
 window manager used.
 .
  * dmenu: Dynamic menu is a generic menu for X.
  * lsw: Lists the titles of all running X windows to stdout, similar to ls(1).
  * lsx: Lists executables in a directory.
  * slock: Simple X display locker that locks the X session.
  * sprop: Sets or gets X window properties.
  * sselp: Simple X selection printer that prints the X selection to stdout.
  * ssid: Simple setsid replacement.
  * swarp: Simple X warping tool to warp the mouse pointer to a given position.
  * tabbed: Simple generic tabbed fronted to xembed aware applications.
  * wmname: Prints/sets the window manager name property of the root
window imilar to how hostname(1) behaves.
  * xssstate: Retrieves the state of X screensaver.

NO. I've just started writing the copyright and control file.

I guess the next step is to copy the patches to build Lua from 5.2,
using libtool.

I'd also like to try out symbol versioning this time to make the release
team happy. Have ld name symbols like lua_newstate (that exists in
other Lua versions) something like lua_newstate@lua5.3 so that if one
loads by mistake lua5.2 and lua5.3 in the same address space nothing
wrong happens.

No progress on that yet, I'm busy :-/

Hi,

Do you have any plan to one day upstream the package corsix-th at GetDeb in

Support for automaticaly packaging the data from the demo and full versions
into a proper .deb has been recently added to game-data-packager;
see git master:
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-games/game-data-packager.git/tree/data/theme-hospital.yaml

This will someday trickle down to unstable then Ubuntu.

You can already add a

control rule to your package to make your users life easier.
(or it could be a Recommends:, depending on your local policy)

a. laptop-mode-tools
b. cpufrequtils
c. thermald

There may be others i don't know about. This is on jessie though and
looking at some of the changelogs seem to indicate that they were in
