  Version : 0.002
  Upstream Author : Andrew Main (Zefram) zef...@fysh.org
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Devel-CallParser
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl, C
  Description : custom parsing attached to subroutines

 Devel::CallParser provides a C API, for XS modules, concerned with
 custom parsing. It is centred around the function cv_set_call_parser,
 which allows XS code to attach a magical annotation to a Perl
 subroutine, resulting in resolvable calls to that subroutine having
 their arguments parsed by arbitrary C code. (This is a more
 conveniently structured facility than the core's PL_keyword_plugin
 API.) This module makes cv_set_call_parser and several supporting
 functions available.

Packaging will be maintained in the perl team.

Package is needed by libmoops-perl.

Bug#779198: ITP: libparse-keyword-perl -- write syntax extensions in perl

2015-02-25 Thread Jonas Smedegaard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jonas Smedegaard d...@jones.dk

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA512

* Package name: libparse-keyword-perl
  Version : 0.08
  Upstream Author : Jesse Luehrs d...@tozt.net
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Parse-Keyword
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : write syntax extensions in perl (with only limited use)

 Parse::Keyword allows you to write keyword-based syntax extensions
 without requiring you to write any C code yourself. It is similar to
 Devel::Declare, except that it uses the Perl parser API introduced in
 Perl 5.14 in order to allow you to parse parts of things using perl's
 own parser, rather than having to fake it with balanced brace matching
 or other fragile things.
 .
 NB! This module has fundamental errors in the way it handles closures,
 which are not fixable. Runtime keywords will never be able to work
 properly with the current design of this module. There are certain
 cases where this module is still safe to use (keywords that only have
 effect at compile time, or keywords that never call any of the parse_*
 functions), but that is limiting enough to make this module mostly
 worthless, and its author may not continue maintain it. Be warned!

Packaging will be maintained in the perl team.

Package is needed by libmoops-perl.

Bug#779204: ITP: libdevel-callchecker-perl -- custom op checking attached to subroutines

* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Devel-CallChecker
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl, C
  Description : custom op checking attached to subroutines

 Devel::CallChecker makes some new features of the Perl 5.14.0 C API
 available to XS modules running on older versions of Perl. The
 features are centred around the function cv_set_call_checker, which
 allows XS code to attach a magical annotation to a Perl subroutine,
 resulting in resolvable calls to that subroutine being mutated at
 compile time by arbitrary C code. This module makes
 cv_set_call_checker and several supporting functions available. (It is
 possible to achieve the effect of cv_set_call_checker from XS code on
 much earlier Perl versions, but it is painful to achieve without the
 centralised facility.)

  Description : munge your has (works with Moo, Moose and Mouse)

 MooseX::MungeHas alters the behaviour of the attributes of your Moo,
 Moose or Mouse based class. It manages to support all three because it
 doesn't attempt to do anything smart with metathingies; it simply
 installs a wrapper for 'has' that munges the attribute specification
 hash before passing it on to the original 'has' function.

 Statistics::Lite is a lightweight, functional alternative to larger, more
 complete, object-oriented statistics packages. As such, it is likely to be
 better suited, in general, to smaller data sets.
 .
 When you just want something to give some very basic, high-school-level
 statistical values, without having to set up and populate an object first,
 this module may be useful.

  Description : true private attributes for Moose/Moo/Mouse

 Lexical::Accessor generates coderefs which can be used as methods to
 access private attributes for objects.
 .
 The private attributes are stored inside-out, and do not add any
 accessors to the class' namespace, so are completely invisible to any
 outside code, including any subclasses. This gives your attribute
 complete privacy: subclasses can define a private (or even public)
 attribute with the same name as your private one and they will not
 interfere with each other.

Packaging will be maintained in the perl team.

Package is needed by libmoops-perl.

 Programming Lang: Go
 Description : Richer testing framework for Go libraries and
applications to use

This package extends Go's internal testing library with features such as:

   - Helpful error reporting to aid on figuring problems out
   - Richer test helpers: assertions which interrupt the test immediately,
 deep multi-type comparisons, string matching, etc
   - Suite-based grouping of tests
   - Fixtures: per suite and/or per test set up and tear down
   - Benchmarks integrated in the suite logic (with fixtures, etc)
   - Management of temporary directories
   - Panic-catching logic, with proper error reporting
   - Proper counting of successes, failures, panics, missed tests, skips,
etc

   - Explicit test skipping
   - Support for expected failures
   - Verbosity flag which disables output caching (helpful to debug
 hanging tests, for instance)
   - Multi-line string reporting for more comprehensible failures
   - Inclusion of comments surrounding checks on failure reports
   - Fully tested (it manages to test itself reliably)

 Programming Lang: Go
 Description : YAML support for the Go language

The yaml package enables Go programs to very comfortably encode and
decode YAML values. It was developed within Canonical as part of the
juju project, and is based on a pure Go port of the well-known libyaml
C library to parse and generate YAML data quickly and reliably.
.
The yaml package supports most of YAML 1.1 and 1.2, including support for
anchors, tags, map merging, etc. Multi-document unmarshalling is not yet
implemented, and base-60 floats from YAML 1.1 are purposefully not
supported

since they're a poor design and are gone in YAML 1.2.

Bug#779239: ITP: headius-options -- Java library that manages sets of JVM properties to configure an app or library

  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : Java library that manages sets of JVM properties to
configure an app or library

 headius-options provides a simple mechanism for defining JVM
 property-based configuration for an application or library.
 .
 Options are defined via a small DSL-like setup, supporting String,
 Integer, Boolean, and Enum-based configurations. Non-Boolean options
 support a set of supported values, and all options allow specifying a
 default value. In addition, options are created with an Enum-based
 category (provided by the user) and a documentation string, which
 allows grouping properties and printing out a full set of options as a
 valid, modifiable .properties file.

I'm packaging this since it's needed to build JRuby 1.7.x.

  Description : Session management and other tools for GNU Screen

screen-session (scs) includes various commands to manage GNU Screen
sessions, including saving and restoring sessions, and managing layouts.

Personally, I'm primarily interested in this for the scs new-window
command, which uses /proc to figure out the working directory of the
current screen tab and opens a new window in that directory. If screen
knew how to do that natively, I wouldn't need screen-session.

Bug#771269: Re: Bug#771269: ITP: jnr-ffi -- Java library for loading native libraries without writing writing JNI code

2015-02-25 Thread Miguel Landaeta
I think there was a confusion in this bug report since jffi != jnr-ffi.

jffi, already in the archive, needs an update to be useful with jruby
and jnr-ffi needs to be packaged since is a critical dependency of jruby
as well.

Right - yeah I messed up filing this bug a bit since I thought jffi and
jnr-ffi were the same thing. We can close it since no new packages are
being created.

Bug#779261: ITP: unsafe-mock -- Java library providing a mock of sun.misc.Unsafe class with support for fences Java 8 API

2015-02-25 Thread Miguel Landaeta
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: unsafe-mock
  Version : 8.0
  Upstream Author : Oracle and/or its affiliates
* URL : https://github.com/headius/unsafe-mock
* License : GPL-2
  Programming Lang: Java
  Description : Java library providing a mock of sun.misc.Unsafe class with
support for fences Java 8 API

 unsafe-mock provides a current version of sun.misc.Unsafe that
 supports all APIs up through the new fences API in Java 8 EA builds
 b71 and later. This Unsafe is a copy of the one from Java 8 EA build
 b71, and it is expected that if you want to build against it you put
 it in javac's bootclasspath. You are responsible for determining in
 your own code whether you can access Unsafe and which methods are
 available; this library is only to provide an all-inclusive Unsafe
 against which you can compile using JDKs = 8.0.

I'm packaging this since it's needed to build JRuby 1.7.x.

Nope, you were right about opening this bug report.

You should close it when jnr-ffi 2.0.x gets accepted in the archive.

Whoops - forgot to mention. I'm pretty happy with what's in the
jffi-1.2.7 repository as of now so we can now do some or all of:

* some basic testing with libjffi-java reverse dependencies: python,
libjenkins-java, jenkins-{common,cli} and libjaffl-java

* merge pkg-java/jffi-1.2.7 into pkg-java/jffi

* delete pkg-java/jffi-1.2.6 and pkg-java/jffi-1.2.7

Bug#777123: ITA: zpaq -- maximum reference compressor for ZPAQ open standard)

2015-02-25 Thread pothos
Hello,

happy to hear this. Are you a DD or maintainer already?

First: The old package must go away, there are serious bugs and it's
totaly outdated. But as archives created with it are still supported by
the new version (Change from ZPAQLv1 to v2) this is not a problem.

Release happens always as zip-files, the github archive is not official,
so maintaining it without git seems to be the way to go.

I would really love to see it alive in Debian again. In future it could
be compiled in a way that a shared library could be used by file-roller
and other archivers.

Regards,
Kai

 This module provides an abstraction layer for accessing a
 key-value storage within a Django application using
 Postgresql.
 .
 A dedicated table needs to be created and then this table
 can be specified as the KEY_VALUE_STORE_BACKEND. Only
 primary key lookup queries are supported but the dictionary
 returned can be processed as normal.

Also adding a README.Debian:

django-kvstore 1.0

This package provides a postgres backend.

Other backends are available upstream but are not
actively maintained, including:

googleappengine (Google AppEngine data store)
sdb (Amazon SimpleDB)
tokyotyrant (Tokyo Tyrant)
redis (Redis)

Some non-persistent stores are also provided,
mainly for testing purposes:

locmem
memcached

This package will be a dependency of new code being added to
lava-server and maintained by the Debian LAVA team.
