Bug#779315: ITP: librdp-readseq-java -- Ribosomal Database Project (RDP) sequence reading and writing library

2015-02-26 Thread Andreas Tille

  Programming Lang: Java
Description : Ribosomal Database Project (RDP) sequence reading and
writing library
Sequence reading library developed by the Ribosomal Database Project. Can
handle genbank, embl, fasta, fastq, sff and sto files. Can read from files
or streams, and can handle indexing files.
 .
A basic rdp-readseq command line program is also included.
 .
The ReadSeq project is a library used by other RDP tools.

Remark: This library is part of RDPTools an it might be that the full
suite might be packaged in the future. However, currently Tim Booth
from BioLinux has packaged only those parts which are relevant to get
Qiime dependencies packaged and thus his work is simply reused. It will

Hello,

Syncany looks like a very promising and interesting Java project. I
might be able to lend a hand with packaging dependencies for Syncany and
undertow to speed things up.

Just to make sure that we don't duplicate work which has already been done:

Could you post a complete list with all dependencies required for
packaging Syncany? What is their status? As Emmanuel pointed out some
artifacts might already be packaged but are "hidden" under a different
package name. Let's sort that out first with the help from others on the
list and then go to work.

Regards,

Markus

RBush is a high-performance JavaScript library for 2D spatial indexing
of points and rectangles by Vladimir Agafonkin, based on an optimized
R-tree data structure with bulk insertion support.

Spatial index is a special data structure for points and rectangles that
allows you to perform queries like "all items within this bounding box"
very efficiently (e.g. hundreds of times faster than looping over all
items). It's most commonly used in maps and data visualizations.

node-rbush is required for OpenLayers 3 (#774561).

Description : Power management tool for Linux. It brings you the benefits
of advanced power management without the need to understand every technical
detail.

TLP implements advanced power management for Linux. TLP is a pure command line
tool with
automated background tasks. It does not contain a GUI.

Settings depending on the power source ac/bat:
- Kernel laptop mode and dirty buffer params
- Processor frequency scaling including "turbo boost" / "turbo core"
- Power aware process scheduler for multi-core/hyper-threading
- Hard disk advanced power magement level and spin down timeout (per disk)
- SATA aggressive link power management (ALPM)
- PCIe active state power management (PCIe ASPM) - Kernel 2.6.35 and above
- Runtime power management for PCI(e) bus devices - Kernel 2.6.35 and above
- Radeon graphics KMS power management - Kernel 2.6.35 and above, not fglrx
- Wifi power saving mode - depending on kernel/driver
- Power off optical drive in drive bay (on battery)

Additional functions:
- I/O scheduler (per disk)
- USB autosuspend with blacklist (input devices excluded automatically)
- Audio power saving mode - hda_intel, ac97
- Enable or disable integrated radio devices upon system startup and shutdown
- Restore radio device state on system startup (from previous shutdown).
- Radio device wizard: switch radios upon network connect/disconnect and
dock/undock
- Disable Wake On LAN
- Integrated wwan state is restored after suspend/hibernate
- Untervolting of Intel processors - requires kernel with PHC-Patch
- Battery charge thresholds - ThinkPads only
- Recalibrate battery - ThinkPads only

All TLP settings are stored in /etc/default/tlp. The default configuration
provides optimized power saving out of the box.

Read the the full documentation at:

Or take a look at the manpages:
- tlp
- tlp-stat (display tlp status and active settings)
- wifi, bluetooth, wwan (switch wireless devices on/off)
- run-on-ac, run-on-bat

 DynaLoader::Functions provides a function-based interface to dynamic
loading as used by Perl. Some details of dynamic loading are very
platform-dependent, so correct use of these functions requires the
programmer to be mindful of the space of platform variations.

Packaging will be maintained in the perl team.

Package is needed by libmoops-perl.
