Bug#785629: ITP: ruby-knife-windows -- Plugin that adds functionality to Chef's Knife CLI for configuring/interacting with nodes running Microsoft Windows

Description : Plugin that adds functionality to Chef's Knife CLI
for configuring/interacting with nodes running Microsoft Windows

This plugin adds additional functionality to the Chef Knife CLI tool
for configuring/interacting with nodes running Microsoft Windows. The
subcommands should function on any system running Ruby 1.9.3+ but
nodes being configured via these subcommands require Windows Remote
Management (WinRM) 1.0+.WinRM allows you to call native objects in
Windows. This includes, but is not limited to, running PowerShell
scripts, batch scripts, and fetching WMI variables. For more
information on WinRM, please visit Microsoft's WinRM site. You will
want to familiarize yourself with (certain key aspects) of WinRM
because you will be writing scripts / running commands with this tool
to get you from specific point A to specific point B.

It usefull for those who works with chef.

I plan to maintain it inside a ruby package extra team.

 Hi Felipe,

I'll package this to help you with docker-compose. I have a working
package right now, it seems to work well!

Great! If you need sponsoring I am available to do that.

There might be more work required to get the package into Debian:
dockerpty's test suites require behave and expects, two python
modules that are not in Debian right now.

Will see what I can do about those too :)

Maybe we can have a non-testsuite-enabled dockerpty in Debian and then
upload the missing dependencies and enable the suite?

My offer for sponsorship extends to these python modules as well.

Bug#785628: ITP: ruby-knife-solo -- knife-solo adds a handful of commands that aim to make working with chef-solo as powerful as chef-server.

2015-05-18 Thread Hleb Valoshka

  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : knife-solo adds a handful of commands that aim to
make working with chef-solo as powerful as chef-server.

knife-solo adds a handful of commands that aim to make working with chef-solo
as powerful as chef-server. It currently adds 5 subcommands to knife:

  * knife solo init is used to create a new directory structure (i.e.
“kitchen”) that fits with Chef's standard structure and can be used to build
and store recipes.

  * knife solo prepare installs Chef on a given host. It's structured to
auto-detect the target OS and change the installation process accordingly.

  * knife solo cook uploads the current kitchen (Chef repo) to the target host
and runs chef-solo on that host.

  * knife solo bootstrap combines the two previous ones (prepare and cook).
knife-solo also adds --solo command line option and +knife+ configuration
parameter to knife bootstrap that can be used for triggering “knife solo
bootstrap” instead of the normal template based chef-client bootstrap.

  * knife solo clean removes the uploaded kitchen from the target host.

It usefull for those who works with chef.

I plan to maintain it inside a ruby package extra team.

Bug#785534: ITP: goobook -- access your Google contacts from command-line or mutt

2015-05-18 Thread Ilias Tsitsimpis
Hi Christian,

Thanks for your advice. I read these[1][2] two guidelines about writing
Debian package descriptions which were very helpful. So I am going to
change my package description to:

Description: command-line interface to Google contacts
GooBook is a command-line interface to Google contacts which supports:
 .
  * Searching contacts
 .
  * Adding new contacts
 .
  * Mutt integration
 .
GooBook is written in Python and is designed for use with MUAs such as Mutt in
 the same way as abook.

Cheers,
Ilias

The freefall interface is pretty cool and easy, because the decision is
done in hardware and the userspace only has to actually trigger parking
the heads. That's also supported by hdapsd (and if not properly, I, with
my upstream hat on, want patches as I do not own any HP/Dell hardware).
hdapsd also supports other motion sensors, that only report motion and
no binary decision.

That said, I would favour only having one complete implementation in the
archive (and wonder why noone told me about the in-kernel tool for 7
years), but would not oppose someone else maintaining the version built
from src:linux ;)

Sorry, didn't notice that the freefall interface is already supported by
newer hdapsd. I'm totally fine with using hdapsd instead since it's
more complete than the freefall.c.

Bug#785569: Work in progress in personal GitHub fork

2015-05-18 Thread Ghislain Vaillant
Progress of the packaging can be checked out at:
https://github.com/ghisvail/arrayfire/tree/debian

So far, the CPU backend builds fine and the packaging is lintian-free.
Testing required. I will then transfer the work to its Debian Science
repository.

The OpenCL backend requires additional dependencies (clBLAS, clFFT)
which are missing in Debian.

The CUDA backend should be more straightforward. Also, I am not sure
whether it is more desirable to build the CUDA backend and have
ArrayFire in contrib or stick with just CPU and OpenCL and have it in
main.

Cheers,
Ghislain

Please keep this package in main. Same thing happen in the past to
libthrust. Having a package in contrib or non-free make it
non-existant to lots of people.

Just add a quick documentation to README.Debian to build the CUDA backend.

Bug#785657: RFA: opticalraytracer

2015-05-18 Thread D Haley
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainers/Developers,

I am intending to orphan opticalraytracer, as I no longer have the time
to develop my java packaging skills, and do not use java in the natural
course of my work. If anyone is interested in maintaining this package,
please feel free to do so.

I am aware that the package has a low popcon score, and thus will be
unlikely to find a new maintainer, and so will attempt to perform any
work required on this package when I can. This may take some time however.

Thanks!

Bug#785658: O: xscavenger -- A lode-runner-like platform game for X

2015-05-18 Thread David Ashley

I am the original author for the game and have tried to contact the
maintainer (Hwei Sheng Teoh hst...@debian.org) multiple times to
notify him of sound related bugfixes that are available for
longstanding issues (on the order of 10 years old).

I'd like the package to become orphaned. Possibly someone else will
step up to maintain it. Otherwise I am willing to maintain it myself.

CUT CUT CUT The text below was cut and pasted from another similiar bug entry...

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

Description-en: Lode-runner-like platform game for X
XScavenger is a platform game for the X Window System. From the README:
 .
Scavenger is like Lode Runner. You've got to run around gathering objects
while avoiding enemies. You can dig down through some of the blocks to get
at buried objects. After you've collected everything, ladders may appear.
To finish the level you've got to exit through the top of the screen. If
an enemy falls into a dug brick, he is stunned for a while. If the brick
fills in with him in it, he is killed, and he will reappear at the top of
 the screen.
 .
This version has a level editor for designing your own levels, and a
graphics editor for drawing your own artwork.

Hello,

I intend to orphan the spacenavd package.

The package description is:
Spacenavd, is a free software replacement user-space driver (daemon),
for 3Dconnexion's six-degree-of-freedom input devices. It is
compatible with the original 3dxsrv proprietary daemon provided by
3Dconnexion, and works perfectly with any program that was written
for the 3Dconnexion driver. It also offers another method
of accessing the device via a new non-X11-dependent protocol.

Bug#785673: RFP: django-mailbox -- Import mail from several sources into your Django project

2015-05-18 Thread Marco Bardelli

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: django-mailbox
  Version : 4.3.4
Upstream Author : Adam Coddington m...@adamcoddington.net
* URL : http://github.com/coddingtonbear/django-mailbox/
* License : MIT (unspecified style license)
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Import mail from several sources in a Django project

Easily ingest messages from POP3, IMAP, or local mailboxes into your
  Django application.

This app allows you to either ingest e-mail content from common e-mail
services (as long as the service provides POP3 or IMAP support), or
directly recieve e-mail messages from stdin (for locally processing
  messages from Postfix or Exim4).

These ingested messages will be stored in the database in Django
models and you can process their content at will, or – if you’re in a
hurry – by using a signal receiver.

I use this package, so I'd like to see it in Debian.

I'm working on the packaging at:
 http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/django-mailbox.git

Best regards,

  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : generate the Cartesian product of zero or more lists

Math::Cartesian::Product generates the Cartesian product of zero or
 more lists.
 .
Given two lists, say: [a,b] and [1,2,3], the Cartesian product is the
 set of all ordered pairs:
 .
 (a,1), (a,2), (a,3), (b,1), (b,2), (b,3)
 .
which select their first element from all the possibilities listed in
the first list, and select their second element from all the
 possibilities in the second list.
 .
The idea can be generalized to n-tuples selected from n lists where all
the elements of the first list are combined with all the elements of
the second list, the results of which are then combined with all the
member of the third list and so on over all the input lists.

Package is needed by recent releases of libattean-perl.

Packaging will be maintained in the Perl team.

 Hi Felipe,

I'll package this to help you with docker-compose. I have a working
package right now, it seems to work well!

Great! If you need sponsoring I am available to do that.

The package is available (in git):

http://git.jpleau.ca/debian/python/dockerpty.git/

git clone git://git.jpleau.ca/debian/python/dockerpty.git

I'm currently waiting to join the Debian Python Modules Team so the
package can be maintained there (python-docker is there as well, I
thought it would make sense for dockerpty to be.)

If you want to review/sponsor it right away I can move it to
collab-maint, remove DPMT from Maintainer field and update Vcs-* fields
until I can get it to the python-modules team.

Personnally, I think waiting to get it under DMPT is the better idea..

What's your opinion on that?

There might be more work required to get the package into Debian:
dockerpty's test suites require behave and expects, two python
modules that are not in Debian right now.

Will see what I can do about those too :)

Maybe we can have a non-testsuite-enabled dockerpty in Debian and then
upload the missing dependencies and enable the suite?

My offer for sponsorship extends to these python modules as well.

Works for me !

I have disabled tests for now, and removed the build-depends on them.

Cheers

Bug#785604: ITP: python-pyorick -- Python module to execute Yorick code

2015-05-18 Thread Thibaut Paumard
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-scie...@lists.debian.org,
debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org

* Package name : python-pyorick
  Version : 1.4
  Upstream Author : Dave Munro
* URL : https://github.com/dhmunro/pyorick
* License : BSD 2-Clause
  Description :
The pyorick package starts yorick as a subprocess and provides an
interface between python and yorick interpreted code.

Features:

+ exec or eval arbitrary yorick code strings
+ get or set yorick variables
+ call yorick functions or subroutines with python arguments
+ get or set slices of large yorick arrays
+ terminal mode to interact with yorick by keyboard through python

Most of the data is exchanged via binary pipes between the two
interpreters. Yorick runs in a request-reply mode. Python prints
anything yorick sends to stdout or stderr except prompts.

The package yorick-yutils contains an interface (pyk.i) which
allows the reverse: controlling Python from Yorick. The pyk.i
approach however suffers from severe limitations (most notably,
all data are sent via textual representations).

The yorick-svipc and python(3)-svipc packages allow exchanging data
between the two interpreters using shared memory. While not as
straightforward to use as this package, the shared memory approach
may avoid data duplication and can be used together with this
package.

The package will be hosted under the Debian Science umbrella, like the
rest of the Yorick stack.

Kind regards, Thibaut.
