Description : Combine maps and polygon data for astronomical image
processing

WeightWatcher is a program that combines weight-maps, flag-maps and polygon
data in order to produce control maps which can directly be used in
astronomical image-processing packages like Drizzle, Swarp or SExtractor.

The package will be maintained under the hood of debian-astro. A git
repository will be created at

http://anonscm.debian.org/git/debian-astro/packages/weightwatcher.git

Of course!

Ok. Upgrading. Please ping me when 0.3.2 is released.
0.3.2 is out! Most of the changes of this release are bugfixes.

I'm now working on adding WS/WSS transport compatibility and maybe some
media flows screens, so 0.4.0 will be released sooner or later.

It will be nice if users can download it from official repositories but
I will need some kind of guidance. Feel free to point me what can I do to
help with the packaging/releasing proccess.

I'm going to try to find a sponsor, sadly I'm not yet a DD. I will keep

 Cheers,

Thanks for your time and efforts!

This is that time of the year when I finally need to orphan ifupdown
package. It's been quite some time already since I first thought about
this, and I have finally understood I have no intent to maintain this
package any more. I stopped using it myself about a month ago, and I
doubt I will really work on improving it any further.

Thank you very much for your work on ifupdown. I'm using it on a lot of
systems.

In current state ifupdown is probably good enough for what it is used
for, except a few bugs. For advanced uses, it seems, Python-based
ifupdown2 may become a good alternative in the future, and some simpler
things wicd, NM and systemd-network probably do things just well.

The advantage of ifupdown is that it doesn't have a lot of dependencies,
is small, and can be configured with a *simple* configuration file. Yet
it is very flexible and handles many network configurations. I tried
systemd-networkd a few weeks ago, but I don't find it very intuitive.
But maybe that's because I'm used to ifupdown.

I also believe some features that the other solutions have can be
backported to ifupdown. For example, I see no reason why ifupdown could
not be made to support selecting interfaces based on MAC address or
other criteria instead of the interface name. So I will work on that.

So if anyone wants to take this package over and maintain it, go
ahead :) If that doesn't happen soon, I will probably still do some QA
uploads from time to time, but I can't promise anything really.

I'll adopt it, but I'm open to collaboration with you and Svante.

   * Lionel Elie Mamane: [tryton-debian] suds in Debian (Tue, 28 Apr 2015
 13:24:25 +0200):

I just uploaded the jurko fork of suds (the latter you are maintainer
   of in Debian) to Debian.

I am quite surprised to hear that. Your package even doesn't seem to
close an ITP bug. Could you please provide the link to your
   packaging sources?

  https://people.debian.org/~lmamane/suds/

You don't have permission to access /~lmamane/suds/suds-jurko_0.6-2.dsc on
 this server.

The killer feature for me was compatibility with Python 3. It installs
as python module suds, for drop-in replacement of suds.

The killer feature of suds-jurko those days may turn out to be that it
tends to be as unmaintained as the original suds.

  sigh

For now, the Python2 package of suds-jurko provides and conflicts with
python-suds (your package). Let me know whether you think something
more soft, like e.g. collaborating through update-alternatives,
   would be more appropriate.

Sorry, coordinating before uploading to NEW would have been much more
   appropriate, (...).

Before commenting further I would like to hear about your motivations:

My motivation is purely having a working suds for Python3 so that I
can use stdnum.eu.vat.check_vies in Python3 (see
https://bugs.debian.org/774948 ). If my work is useful to others, then
I'm happy to share it, if not I'll keep it is a local package for me.

   - Are you aware of the work in progress at [1]?

  No.

   - Are you aware of the planning to prepare suds-jurko as a drop-in
replacement for suds with coordinating to migrate also the project at pypi
 [2][3]?

  No.

Since you seem to have good not-too-long-term plans, I'm happy if we
ask ftpmaster to reject my upload to make way for your plans.

 The current state is:

 - suds (as the original package from fedora) has a dead upstream
 - suds-jurko (fork of the original package ported to py3) meanwhile seems to
have a dead (or at least overloaded and unresponsive) upstream, too.
   Last release: 2014-01-24
   Last commit: 2014-12-25
 - pysimplesoap[0] seems to be a promising and maintained project.

 My personal plans are:

 - Wait some weeks (say until end of May), if either there will be some
feedback or some revivification on the project.
 - In case the project shows activity from maintainer side I would take it and
do a drop in for current suds.
 - In case there will be no activity, I won't step in as the quasi upstream of
suds-jurko. I would inform the rdepends of python-suds to consider the usage
   of pysimplesoap.
Indeed, if you still want to take over maintenance of suds-jurko then
under this circumstances I will be happy to inform the rdepends to use
your package and to take off python-suds from the archive.

I think - provided pysimplesoap qualifies as a replacement for suds and
suds-jurko remains in the current state - it makes more sense to put work
on patches for the rdepends of python-suds to use pysimplesoap than to
introduce another unmaintained package in the archive. At least I personally
don't feel to have the continuing ability and to take the responsibility to
beat another dead horse. If you want then to take over, that's fine for me.
Until that decision I ask you indeed to wait with your package (i.e. to ask
ftp-masters to not consider it for the moment).

As always I am open to suggests, those are just my current feelings and plans.

Time has passed and re-evaluating suds-jurko still shows no maintainer
activity. I don't get feedback on mails written directly to Jurko neither
there is action on patches or development on the bitbucket project.

So my personal decision is to not use suds-jurko as a drop-in for
suds. Further action now depends on your answer, Lionel:
Do you still want to maintain a suds-jurko package in Debian?

Depending on your answer I will add a deprecation warning in the current suds
package recommending the use of pysimplesoap (currently in NEW) or (if API
compatibility is required) the suds-jurko package.

Cheers,
Mathias

Description : bundles the minified jQuery code into a Haskell package

This package bundles the minified jQuery code into a Haskell package, so it can
be depended upon by Cabal packages. The first three components of the version
number match the upstream jQuery version. The haskell library is designed to
meet the redistribution requirements of downstream users, and to reduce
duplication of bundled code in Debian.

Will be maintained as part of debian-haskell team.

Description : address book with CardDAV support - ownCloud application

Third party application for ownCloud, providing a platform to easily view
and sync your contacts across all your devices and enabling basic editing
 right on the web.
 .
ownCloud gives you universal access to your files through a web interface
 or WebDAV.

As recently proposed [1], we intend to package relevant owncloud apps in
separate packages, and plan to maintain them in the ownCloud for Debian
maintainers team.

  1:
https://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-owncloud-maintainers/Week-of-Mon-20150223/002086.html

Other applications need packaging, do not hesitate to get in touch with
the team if you want to help, I’ll post some RFPs later if nobody beats
me to it (and will be happy to sponsor any of the ownCloud related
packages from people without upload rights).

Regards

David

This GNU R package provides a simple yet powerful logging utility. Based
loosely on log4j, futile.logger takes advantage of R idioms to make logging
a convenient and easy to use replacement for cat and print statements.

SoundManager 2 makes it easy to play audio using JavaScript by wrapping
and extending HTML5 and Flash Audio APIs.
 .
The current package does not yet provide the Flash 9/AS3 shim (it falls
back to the Flash 8/AS2 if HTML5 is not available).

It’s currently used (as an embedded copy) by the Music application for
ownCloud (as provided by owncloud-apps). The goal will be to provide the
Flash 8 shim (currently deactivated) since the build toolchain is
already available in Debian (not yet for the Flash 9 one though), and
will be maintained inside the ownCloud for Debian maintainers team

  Version : 1.06
Upstream Author : Alex Efros powerman-a...@ya.ru
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Log-Fast
* License : MIT/X11
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : fast and flexible logger

Log::Fast is very fast logger, designed for use in applications with thousands
high-level events/operations per second (like network servers with thousands
clients or web spiders which download hundreds url per second).

For example, on Core2Duo sending about 5000 messages to log on enabled log
levels or 2 messages on disabled log levels in one second will slow down
your application only by 2-3%.

Comparing to some other CPAN modules, this one (in average): faster than
Log::Dispatch in about 45 times, faster than Log::Handler in about 15 times,
faster than Sys::Syslog in about 7 times, and slower than Log::Syslog::Fast in
about 2 times.

Features:

 * Global and local logger objects
 * Output to any open filehandle or local syslog
 * 5 log levels: ERR, WARN, NOTICE, INFO, DEBUG
 * Configurable prefix (log level, date/time, caller function name)
 * sprintf() support
 * Unicode support (UTF8)
 * Can avoid calculating log message content on disabled log levels

This is a generalised API that allows a module that generates PDFs to
transparently target multiple backends without changing its code. The
currently supported backends are:
 * PDF::API2
 * PDFlib (versions 3+)
 * Mock
If both PDF::API2 and pdflib_pl are available, PDF::API2 is preferred.
If neither is available, a run-time exception will be thrown.

Description : small auxiliary tools for Bro

This package provides handy auxiliary programs related to the use of the
Bro Network Security Monitor.

The “adtrace” utility is used to compute the network address that compose
the internal and extern nets that bro is monitoring. The “bro-cut” utility
reads ASCII Bro logs on standard input and outputs them with only the
specified columns (if no column names are specified, then all columns are
output). The nfcollector and ftwire2bro utilities are for dealing with
Bro’s custom file format for storing NetFlow records.

As I've specified in Bro's ITP, I'm willing to team-maintain this package.

Bug#781026: RFP: bs1770gain -- normalize the loudness of audio and video files to the same level

2015-06-01 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Control: retitle -1 ITP: bs1770gain -- normalize the loudness of audio and
video files to the same level

I checked with the Debian multimedia packagers on #debian-multimedia,
and they accepted to maintain this package under that umbrella. I've
created a git repo and pushed the upstream source tarballs there as
URL: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-multimedia/bs1770gain.git/ .

I'm in touch with upstream and hope to get some of my patches included
in the next upstream release to make the program easier to package in
Debian.

JFYI.

Bug#787482: ITP: sachesi -- BlackBerry 10 device utility

2015-06-01 Thread Dara Adib
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Dara Adib dara...@ocf.berkeley.edu

* Package name: sachesi
  Version : 2.0.0~rc
Upstream Author : Sacha Refshauge sa...@qtness.com
* URL : https://github.com/xsacha/Sachesi
* License : GPL-3
  Programming Lang: C++
Description : BlackBerry 10 device utility

Sachesi installs applications and firmware on BlackBerry 10
devices. It can also back up, restore, and wipe data. Sachesi
mimics communications performed by official BlackBerry tools.
None of its activities require development mode.

I am using git-buildpackage. My work-in-progress repository
is currently hosted on GitHub:
https://github.com/daradib/sachesi

I am maintaining a list of TODO tasks in debian/TODO. Of note:

1) Request an OpenSSL linking exception from the author.
2) Address convenience copies of third-party libraries in the
source, including compiled files. None of these copies are
used in the built binary deb as they are already packaged
   in Debian.
3) Package translations.

I am happy to (co-)maintain, but need a sponsor.

Bug#697821: ITP: ppsspp -- ppsspp: A portable PSP emulator

2015-06-01 Thread Sergio benjamim Rocha filho
Hi,

Are there any progress in this ITP?

I had already packed it (I didn't know someone was working on it), the problem
is I use 2 packages, one for SDL and other for Qt, so I need to merge them to
push to mentors.

https://code.launchpad.net/~sergio-br2/ppsspp/debian-sdl

https://code.launchpad.net/~sergio-br2/ppsspp/debian-qt

These are what I'm using in the PPA, 1.0.1 version.

Are you going to work yet in the packaging?

PS: they use a different version of ffmpeg, with atrac3+ enabled... I don't
know if it's possible to use ffmpeg/libav from the repo.
