Bug#791395: ITP: wgsim -- Simulate whole-genome sequencing data

2015-07-04 Thread Kevin Murray
package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: 'Kevin Murray'

*Package Name : wgsim
 Version : 0.3.1-r13
 Upstream Author : Heng Li
*URL : https://github.com/lh3/wgsim
*License : MIT
*Description : wgsim simulates sequencing reads from a reference genome.

Wgsim is a small tool for simulating sequence reads from a reference genome.
It is able to simulate diploid genomes with SNPs and insertion/deletion (INDEL)
polymorphisms, and simulate reads with uniform substitution sequencing errors.
It does not generate INDEL sequencing errors, but this can be partly
compensated by simulating INDEL polymorphisms.

Bug#790933: ITP: drive - Google Drive tool

2015-07-04 Thread Sophie Brun

Hi,

thanks for your comments !

Le 03/07/2015 21:46, Guillem Jover a écrit :

drive is an extremely generic name in tech, please use something else
when packaging this, both for the source/binary packages and the
executables and other related files. Prefixing it with «google-» could
be an option, perhaps. Doing this upstream would be preferable.

I followed your suggestion and opened this issue:
https://github.com/odeke-em/drive/issues/271

But upstream doesn't seem to be agreed. What do you suggest?

Thanks
Sophie

Thanks,
Guillem

you are free to choose your source and binary package name independent
from upstream’s choice. For example, all Haskell packages are named
haskell-foo, where upstream calls it just foo. So let upstream do what
he likes and do what you think is best within Debian with the Debian
package.

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#791450: ITP: surfer-alggeo-gtk -- interactive visualization of algebraic surfaces

2015-07-04 Thread Jerome BENOIT
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Jerome Benoit

* Package name: surfer-alggeo-gtk
  Upstream Author : IMAGINARY.org
* URL : http://www.imaginary.org/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : interactive visualization of algebraic surfaces

 Surfer-alggeo-gtk is based on the script driven tool Surf and offers an
 intuitive user interface to create images, multiple layers of images and
 animations. Additionally it contains a series of sample galleries with
 explanations.
 .
 Mathematically, the program visualizes real algebraic geometry in real-time.
 The surfaces shown are given by the zero set of a polynomial equation in
 the variables x, y and z. All points in space that solve the equation are
 displayed and form the surface. The program contains a series of sample
 galleries for a good starting point. It also allows a lot of advanced
 settings and is hence also suitable for Surfer “experts” that want to
 design complicated surfaces.
