user-set period

Hashes tied to Tie::Hash::Expire behave like normal hashes in all respects
except that when a key is added or the value associated with a key is
changed, the current time is stored, and after 'expire_seconds' the key and
value are removed from the hash.

Resolutions finer than seconds are available if the module finds access to
Time::HiRes.

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.

Bug#798954: O: fet -- timetable generator

2015-09-14 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Package: wnpp

I'm orphaning src:fet, as of version 5.27.8-1.
That upload remove the previous maintainer (considerd MIA) and set the
owner to the QA team.

The long description is:

Description: timetable generator
 FET is a program for automatically generating the timetable
 of a school, high-school or university.
 .
 Usually, FET is able to solve a complicated timetable in maximum 5-20 minutes.
 For simpler timetables, it may take a shorter time, under 5 minutes (in some
 cases, a matter of seconds). For extremely difficult timetables, it may take
 a longer time, a matter of hours.

As of now it's in a good shape, but please note that there is about an
upstream release per month, even if they are pretty simple to handle.

Bug#643595: Quick review for snes9x

2015-09-14 Thread ChangZhuo Chen
Hi,

I just found some issues in the package in mentor:

1. The version 1.53~git20150819-1 is smaller than 1.53. You probability
   need to use 1.53+git20150819-1 if the snapshot is taken after version
   1.53.

2. There is a lintian warning outdated-autotools-helper-file. You can
   use dh-autoreconf to regenerate configure to fix this problem.

Was this intended to be merged into master? If so, I did something
wrong:

Bug#792096: borg packaging

2015-09-14 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
Hi Marc,

I'm afraid having a different upstream/pristine-tar messed up things.

even if the tarball is the same, git fails to see a common history.

I did create a new repository
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/borgbackup-new.git

(for some reasons your repo has the wrong permission bit set)

But I honestly prefer Danny's repository,
https://github.com/dannyedel/pkg-borgbackup

because he fixed a lot of stuff, including regeneration of built file at build
time.
what do you think?

cheers,

G.

Bug#798980: ITP: libjson-validator-perl -- validate data against a JSON schema

2015-09-14 Thread Lucas Kanashiro
package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: 'Lucas Kanashiro'
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-p...@lists.debian.org

* Package Name  : libjson-validator-perl
  Version  : 0.52
  Upstream Author: Jan Henning Thorsen
* URL  : https://metacpan.org/release/JSON-Validator

* License : Artistic 2
  Programming Lang : Perl
  Description: validate data against a JSON schema

 JSON::Validator is a class for validating data against JSON schemas. You
 might want to use this instead of JSON::Schema if you need to validate
data.
 .
 JSON::Validator can load JSON schemas in multiple formats: Plain perl data
 structured or files on disk/web in the JSON/YAML format. The JSON parsing
is
 done using Mojo::JSON, while the YAML parsing is done with an optional
modules
 which need to be installed manually. JSON::Validator will look for the
YAML
 modules in this order: YAML::XS, YAML::Syck, YAML::Tiny, YAML. The order
is set
 by which module that performs the best, so it might change in the future.

The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.

 This is a C++ single class library encapsulating a protocol conduit. The
 premise is that there is a local network over which to multicast Bible
 navigation, and someone, possibly several someones, will transmit, and
 others will receive. The choices for when you decide to xmit and what to
 do when you recv are up to you as the application designer.

This package is a new build-dep for Xiphos.

Bug#799015: ITP: rasdaemon -- utility to receive RAS error messages

2015-09-14 Thread Al Stone
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Al Stone

* Package name: rasdaemon
  Version : 0.5.6
  Upstream Author : Mauro Carvalho Chehab
* URL : https://apps.fedorahosted.org/packages/rasdaemon
* License : GPL-2
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : utility to receive RAS error messages

rasdaemon is a RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) logging
tool. It currently records memory errors, using the EDAC tracing events.
EDAC are drivers in the Linux kernel that handle detection of ECC errors
from memory controllers for most chipsets on x86 and ARM architectures.
This userspace component consists of an init script which makes sure EDAC
drivers and DIMM labels are loaded at system startup, as well as a utility
for reporting current error counts from the EDAC sysfs files.

While the edac-utils package provides similar information, the intent of
this project is to add extensive RAS information provided by the ACPI APEI
(ACPI Platform Error Interfaces, Section 18 of the specification) over time.
Hence, the plan is that this package will grow beyond reporting EDAC
information.

This package will be maintained by the submitter as part of his daily job
responsibilities. And while the submitter is currently a new user of this
tool, he will be using it much more frequently and will be providing new
and extended functionality over time.

Bug#799021: RFP: vorbis-tools-aotuv -- Aoyumi's Tuned Vorbis - tuned version of the Vorbis encoder

2015-09-14 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer

* URL : http://www.geocities.jp/aoyoume/aotuv/
* License : BSD?
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Aoyumi's Tuned Vorbis - tuned version of the Vorbis encoder

AoTuV, which is based on Xiph's original vorbis-tools,
is widely recommended[0, 1] as encoder for Vorbis, assumed to
reach better quality at the same compression ratio.
Quoting e.g. [1]:
>aoTuV versions improves significantly on Vorbis quality:
>Most people agree aoTuV beta 4 (and newer) achieves
>transparency at -q 5.

Changes up to Beta2 were actually merged with Xiph's Vorbis
encoder.

I think it would be great for Debian to have AoTuV in addition
to the Xiph version (AFAIU there may be some cases were AoTuV
produces worse results, and for which it would be good to have
the Xiph encoder as well.)

Maybe it can be easily packaged based on the vorbis-tools or
even delivered as part of it (therefore CCing the Xiph Maintainers
Team).

Cheers,
Chris.

  * manage files with Django (permissions, filters, generation, ...);
  * files are stored somewhere or generated somehow (local filesystem,
remote storage, memory...);
  * django-downloadview helps to stream the files with very little
code;
  * django-downloadview helps to improve performances with reverse
proxies, via mechanisms such as Nginx’s X-Accel or Apache’s
X-Sendfile.

I think that the code that builds a Debian package should be on Debian
infrastructure. And I think that we should use the pristine tarballs
released by upstream to have the possibility to compare the tarballs
by checksum.

Currently, it looks like a working team has formed to work on the
package. That means than I am out. One less cook to spoil the fun, and
one less old fart to insist on old fashioned package keeping.

If you settle on maintaining borgbackup on github, please make sure to
kill the repositories on alioth.

Greetings
Marc

2. There is a lintian warning outdated-autotools-helper-file. You can

Hashes tied to Tie::Hash::Expire behave like normal hashes in all respects
except that when a key is added or the value associated with a key is
changed, the current time is stored, and after 'expire_seconds' the key and
value are removed from the hash.

Resolutions finer than seconds are available if the module finds access to
Time::HiRes.

Backport of Py3 subprocess module, recommended to use with Py2 [1]. Used by
e.g. current Ocrodjvu if available, and code search reveals other Python stuff
doing so, too (e.g. python-plumbum). As far as I can see it isn't available in
Debian. Could be packaged with minimum effort to have it available for the rest
of time things are running on Py2.

* Package name: python-ly
  Version : 0.9.2
  Upstream Author : Wilbert Berendsen
* URL : https://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-ly
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Tool and Python library for manipulating LilyPond files

 This package provides a Python library `ly` containing various Python
 modules to parse, manipulate or create documents in LilyPond format.
 A command line program `ly` is also provided that can be used to do various
 manipulations with LilyPond files.
 .
 The LilyPond format is a plain text input format that is used by the
 GNU music typesetter LilyPond (www.lilypond.org).

 1. Why is this package useful/relevant? Is it a dependency for
another package?

Answer: python-ly is needed for the Qt4-based LilyPond sheet music editor
Frescobaldi 2.18 and above, which I intend to upload after python-ly
is accepted. Debian currently has frescobaldi-2.17.2 where the
functionality of python-ly was not yet separated out.

 2. How do you plan to maintain it? Inside a packaging team?

Yes, I intend to join the Debian Python Modules Team (DPMT)
to have the python-ly source package reside on Alioth.
Frescobaldi, which I co-maintain, is already inside the
Python Applications Packaging Team (PAPT).

 Python binding to libpoppler-qt5 that aims for completeness and for being
 actively maintained. The bindings closely follow the C++ library API
 documented at http://people.freedesktop.org/~aacid/docs/qt5/ .

More information:

This is a continuation of Ryan Kavanagh 's great work on
python-poppler-qt4 package, but now for Qt5.

Its primary "user" in Debian is Frescobaldi the LilyPond sheet music editor,
written by the same author, Wilbert Berendsen.

I intend to maintain this package inside the Debian Python Modules Team (DPMT)

* Package name: tzlocal
  Version : 1.2
  Upstream Author : Lennart Regebro
* URL : https://github.com/regebro/tzlocal
* License : CC0
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : tzinfo object for the local timezone

  This Python module returns a `tzinfo` object with the local timezone
  information. It requires `pytz`, and returns `pytz` `tzinfo` objects.

  This module attempts to fix a glaring hole in `pytz`, that there is no way
  to get the local timezone information, unless you know the zoneinfo name,
  and under several Linux distros that's hard or impossible to figure out.

  With `tzlocal` you only need to call `get_localzone()` and you will get a
  `tzinfo` object with the local time zone info.

I plan to maintain this package as part of the Debian Python Modules Team.

 CBOR is comparable to JSON, has a superset of JSON’s ability, but serializes
 to a binary format which is smaller and faster to generate and parse.

 The two primary functions are cbor.loads() and cbor.dumps(). This library
 includes a C implementation which runs 3-5 times faster than the Python
 standard library’s C-accelerated implementanion of JSON. This is also includes
 a 100% Python implementation

  Description : set of high-level abstractions for Django forms

 Django's formtools is a set of high-level abstractions for Django forms.
 Currently for form previews and multi-step forms.
 .
 This code used to live in Django proper: in django.contrib.formtools. But it
 was separated into a standalone package in Django 1.8 to keep the framework's
 core clean.

This is a new dependency of OpenStack murano-dashboard.

This is a Python library for accessing and retrieving links to comics from the
xkcd webcomic by Randall Munroe. It is NOT endorsed or made by him, it’s an
entirely independent project.
.
It makes use of the JSON interface to Randall’s site to retrieve comic data.
.
One can create comic objects manually using Comic(number), or can use the helper
functions provided- getLatestComic(), getRandomComic(), and getComic()- to do
this. Once you have a Comic object, you can access data from it using various
provided methods.
