 This was created out of frustration with PyPI; it sucks finding out your reST
 is invalid after uploading it. It is being developed in junction with a
 Sublime Text linter.

This is a new dependency of the OpenStack manuals, which I intend to package
for Debian.

  Description : anonymous and serverless instant messaging

This tool is inspired by TorChat, and allow people and computers to talk
to each other using TOR hidden services, making it very hard to collect
metadata on who is talking to who, and what they are saying to each other.

This tools is covered in a Wired article available from
http://www.wired.com/2014/09/new-encrypted-chat-program-thwarts-nsa-eliminating-metadata/
 >.

I tried building the source in Jessie, and the C++ code build just fine
with a dh-make made build framework, but I have not been able to get it
to run yet. Probably some incorrect paths for the installed binary.

  Description : Lua assertions extension

 luassert extends Lua's built-in assertions to provide additional tests and
 the ability to create your own.
 .
 It comes preloaded with argument formatters for common Lua types, but it is
 easy to add custom ones as well.

It is a dependency of busted (#783044), which in turn is a dependency to run
tests for neovim (#752264).

I plan to maintain it in pkg-lua

Analyse your code with Flake8 in Vim - seamlessly.

 - Non-blocking (syntax check is called asynchronously)
 - statusline helper to display when there are errors.
 - Separate buffer to display errors and jump to them

Every time you save the file or you are exiting insert mode you will trigger
the asynchronous call, enforcing a refresh of the check and error display.

  Upstream Author : Ahmad Amireh
* URL : https://github.com/amireh/lua_cliargs

  Programming Lang: Lua
  Description : command-line argument parsing module for Lua

 cliargs is a command-line argument parser for Lua. It supports several types
of arguments:
 .
  * required arguments
  * optional arguments with different notations: -short-key VALUE and/or
--expanded-key=VALUE
  * optional arguments with multiple-values that get appended to a list
  * optional "flag" arguments (on/off options) with notations: -short-key
and/or --expanded-key
  * a single optional "splat" argument which can be repeated (must be the last
argument)
 .
 Optional arguments can have default values (strings), flags always default to
'true'.

This package is a dependency of busted (#783044), which in turn is a dependency
to run tests for neovim (#752264).

I plan to maintain it in pkg-lua.

http://copyninja.info
I request an adopter for the suckless-tools package. As I have very
limited time for Debian I can't really take care of this package
anymore.

The package description is:
 This package provides simple commands designed to be used with a minimalistic
 window manager like dwm but they can be useful in scripts regardless of the
 window manager used.
 .
  * dmenu: Dynamic menu is a generic menu for X.
  * lsw: Lists the titles of all running X windows to stdout, similar to ls(1).
  * lsx: Lists executables in a directory.
  * slock: Simple X display locker that locks the X session.
  * sprop: Sets or gets X window properties.
  * sselp: Simple X selection printer that prints the X selection to stdout.
  * ssid: Simple setsid replacement.
  * swarp: Simple X warping tool to warp the mouse pointer to a given position.
  * tabbed: Simple generic tabbed fronted to xembed aware applications.
  * wmname: Prints/sets the window manager name property of the root
window imilar to how hostname(1) behaves.
  * xssstate: Retrieves the state of X screensaver.

Bug#689854: pmount needs some loving care

2015-10-15 Thread Barak A. Pearlmutter
> I request an adopter for the pmount package.

I can adopt it, although I'd much prefer to team/co-maintain.

I've done a bit of work, which I just took the liberty of pushing to
branch barak-tweaks in
 git://anonscm.debian.org/git/pmount/pmount-debian.git
This supports btrfs and has some other misc fixes like updated packaging
scripts and rm freeze-my-shell bash completion file.

Barring objections, I'll dput it as better-than-nothing.

Bug#801858: ITP: glui -- GLUT-based C++ user interface library which provides controls such as buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons, and spinners to OpenGL applications

2015-10-15 Thread Johannes Schauer
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Johannes Schauer

* Package name: glui
  Version : 2.37
  Upstream Author : Paul Rademacher, Bill Baxter, John Kew, Nigel Stewart
* URL : https://github.com/libglui/glui/wiki
* License : ZLIB
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : GLUT-based C++ user interface library which provides
controls such as buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons, and
spinners to OpenGL applications

Features of the GLUI User Interface Library include:

  * Complete integration with GLUT toolkit
  * Simple creation of a new user interface window with a single line of code
  * Support for multiple user interface windows
  * Standard user interface controls such as:
  *  Buttons
  *  Checkboxes for boolean variables
  * Radio Buttons for mutually-exclusive options
  * Editable text boxes for inputting text, integers, and floating-point
values
  * Spinners for interactively manipulating integer and floating-point
values
  *  Static text fields
  * Panels for grouping sets of controls
  * Separator lines to help visually organize groups of controls
  * Controls can generate callbacks when their values change
  * Variables can be linked to controls and automatically updated when the
value of the control changes ("live variables")
  * Controls can be automatically synchronized to reflect changes in live
variables
  * Controls can trigger GLUT redisplay events when their values change
  * Layout and sizing of controls is automatic
  * Controls can be grouped into columns
  * User can cycle through controls using Tab key

glui is necessary for the OpenGL 3D viewer of 3dtk and Doris, a script
driven OpenGL viewer using Lua.

As upstream of 3dtk I took over maintenance of glui upstream in
agreement with its original authors to make sure it continues to work
well.

As mentioned before, I could help with package maintenance, but not
with the upstream code.

Thanks!

So wouldn't it be better to make a new upstream release instead of
adding patches to debian/patches/?

For my taste, the changelog item "Update debian packaging scripts"
should be more verbose. (But then again some people think, my
changelog entries are slightly too verbose. ;-)

Bug#719601: RFS: datatables.js -- jQuery plug-in that makes nice tables from different data sources

2015-10-15 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Sascha,

in principle I would like to sponsor. The only thing I do not like is
the fact that two packaging repositories are hanging around in
git.debian.org. This might be confusing for potentially interested
persons.  Please either do

  1. merge your repository into collab-maint/jquery-datatables.git
  2. if you have no access to collab-maint yet feel free to move
 your repository into Debian Med Git *and* ask Matthias for
 either removing his repository or cleaning it up from files
 and just drop a README.status file pointing to the actively
 maintained one
  3. ask Matthias for either removing his repository or cleaning it
 up from files and just drop a README.status file pointing to
 the actively maintained one and stay with your private
 repository

I'd prefer 1. and 2. (in this order) way much over 3.

Kind regards

Andreas.

I absolutely agree and surely would like to sort this out.

Please either do
>

Well, the JS policy [1] stating that the repository should reflect the
source package name, which according to the policy should have a
different name than the one Matthias chose several years ago for his
one. But they also state it's not a hard requirement so I guess this is
an option.
However, I would need to be approved for collab-maint access first.
Could you probably help?

Sure, I wanted to get in touch with him anyway.

The private repo was just for sponsoring/review to not leave a stray
package in the Debian Med area in case I get advised to move it to the
Javascript team etc. It definitely was not intended to stay ;)

> I'd prefer 1. and 2. (in this order) way much over 3.

Agreed. If you can help me sort out getting collab-maint access I would
be happy to coordinate the next steps with Matthias to update the
repository he started. If not, I will follow option 2.

Thanks for your help

I think you should follow JS policy which I was not aware about. So the
best thing to do would probably be to rename the existing repository to
collab-maint/datatables.js.git.

I think you need to follow the procedure explained here:

I admit I was not aware of a Javascript team. May be it makes sense
then to join this team and move the Git repository there. I'm fine with
sponsoring your package also in this case.

Feel free to either join collab-maint or Javascript team and ping me
if you need further help.

Bug#697821: ITP: ppsspp -- ppsspp: A portable PSP emulator.

2015-10-15 Thread Sérgio Benjamim

Hi,

How did you manage to build the package on your machine? And is there
no way to use an older version of libpng? I don't understand why the
PPSSPP developers thought it would be a good idea to build against
libpng16 when libpng12 is still the default version.

Adrian

All distro moved or are moving to libpng16, only debian is in the 1.2.x
for ages.

I fixed it in the dirty way: I installed manually the headers and
pkgconfig of 1.6 in the system :)

There's no way to use 1.2, upstream is using new features of 1.6, I
tried once.

well, I am, but I was giving a fact, not saying I would sponsor such hack, just
mentioning
that $somebody else is already doing that on debian.

(if you look to my -mentors sponsoring activities you can see I don't even like
shipping a static library,
so I really care about security).

Look e.g.
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=650601#354

personally I would like to see the transition start, but with the libstdc++5
ongoing one
I don't think -release will ever give an ack for it
(modulo somebody working on it)

I was trying to give my help, not to make you feel an idiot.
sorry if I didn't make my intentions clear.

Of course the package is now in a no-go state :(

Embedding a library is an absolute no-go in Debian, particularly
with core stuff like libpng. The security team is going to kill
you when they find out.

The fact that someone managed to sneak their packages with an
embedded library into the archive doesn't make it any better. You
should talk to the FTP team with a beer over this. They'll tell
you how much they have to reject just because people's packaging
is sometimes really horrible despite the fact that DDs should

We already have several huge transitions going on. I am maintainer
and co-maintainer for m68k, sh4, sparc, sparc64 and x32 and I am
happy about any transition which is currently not going on yet
as transitions cost a lot of pain for us.

Yes, that's my whole point. We can upload it like that. As simple
as that. A random emulator is not important enough that I start
a fight with the security or release team.

I actually did also push them to the maintain-0.9.23 branch of
 git://anonscm.debian.org/pmount/pmount.git
But maybe it would be best if people test it a bit before making an
"upstream" release...

The reason I changed it is that, the former refers to
git://git.debian.org which you're not supposed to do anymore, and also
has the image https://alioth.debian.org/themes/gforge/images/logo.png
on the upper left hang corner which is not found so renders with a
broken image.

Sound I change it back?

well, there is at least two more solutions:
1) target the upload to experimental, where the libpng16 is available
2) embed libpng16 inside the source
(well, it is not a suggestion, just a matter of facts)

this will still be needed for an unstable upload, while experimental should be
good.

No, that's not possible because ppsspp build-depends on libfreetype6-dev
which conflicts with libpng16-dev. Try installing libfreetype6-dev and
libpng16-dev simultaneously.

Hi, from [1], I see that emboss ships 261 programs in
/usr/bin/ including cool names like "banana", "chaos", "needle",
"water", "wobble" ... so this means all these names
can't be re-used forerver :-(

Current /usr/bin/yank [2] is 10 lines of code, the new tool
seems more usefull for more users;
and from the animated .gif on the project page,
it's supposed to be something short that's called
frequently, so the contrived name with the hypen
will make it hard to use...

Maybe this can be also be solved by documenting how to set a bash alias,
or a symlink in /usr/local/bin .

I don't even see libpng16-dev in Ubuntu, even in wily, the current

upgrade that to a new upstream version without risking breaking

Bug#788076: #788076: Packaged version of gtk3-nocsd (v2)

2015-10-15 Thread Christian Seiler
Hi Axel,

There were some bugs in version 1 of gtk3-nocsd I release earlier,
so I've now released version 2 upstream and also packaged that for
Debian.

I've uploaded the new version to mentors.debian.net:
https://mentors.debian.net/package/gtk3-nocsd

The library works with every Gtk+ version I could test it with, and
CSDs are consistently disabled. The functionality is enabled by
default on every X11 session that's not GNOME, but both the
administrator and each individual user may change this to their
liking. This is documented in README.Debian.

I've followed your guidelines for packages you sponsor,
https://people.debian.org/~abe/sponsoring/
as close as possible:

 - lintian:
 * 0 errors
 * 3 warnings, overridden for good reason
 Actually, there's only one thing, but it causes
 3 warnings. See the override file for a rationale.
 * 0 informational messages
 * 1 pedantic message: no GPG signatures on upstream
 tarballs
 * the lintian error on mentors is due to the ldconfig
   trigger change - lintian in unstable doesn't give
   that error
 - adequate: no messages
 - blhc: no messages
 - Build system: dh(7), minimal debian/rules
 - debian/copyright: DEP-5
 - proper symbols file for library (although it's a bit useless,
   because nothing is ever going to directly link against it,
   but policy dictates it)
 - library is properly Multi-Arch (thus 2 packages, one arch all
   for the wrapper script + Xsession.d integration, the other
   arch any for the library itself)

It would be great if you could review this and sponsor the upload.

Also, citing my previous mail:

  Thanks a lot !

  That looks good to me, please go ahead.

  To respond to Axel about upstream vs debian: I find using patches
simpler for small patches, that saves the trouble of preparing and
announcing a full upstream release. So long as the patches find their
into the next upstream release.

Bug#801919: ITP: php-pear -- PEAR - PHP Extension and Application Repository

2015-10-15 Thread Mathieu Parent
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Mathieu Parent

* Package name: php-pear
  Version : 1:1.10
  Upstream Author : a lot
* URL : https://pear.php.net/package/PEAR
* License : BSD-2-Clause
  Programming Lang: PHP
  Description : PEAR - PHP Extension and Application Repository

Current description (from src:php5):
 This package contains the base PEAR classes for PHP, as well as the PEAR
 installer. Many PEAR classes are already packaged for Debian, and can be
 easily identified by names beginning with "php-", such as php-db and
 php-auth. Note: to build and install precompiled PECL extensions, you
 will need one of the php development packages installed.
 .
 PHP (recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) is a widely-used
 open source general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited
 for web development and can be embedded into HTML.

This is to fix #714848. The package will be maintained in the pkg-php-pear ML.

To avoid having a circular dependency, I won't build-depend on pkg-php-tools,
as its dependencies:
- Archive_Tar
- Structures_Graph
- Console_Getopt
- XML_Util

Read input from stdin and draw a selection interface where all fields in

Using ctrl-n and ctrl-p will move the field selection forward and
backward, pressing the return key will invoke the yank command and write
the selected field to its stdin. The yank command defaults to xsel, but

gradle-debian-helper contains helper tools to ease the packaging of Gradle

 * a Gradle plugin resolving the dependencies against the system Maven
   repository (/usr/share/maven-repo). The resolver uses the same Maven
   rule files that maven-debian-helper and maven-repo-helper employ
   (debian/maven.rules, debian/maven.ignoreRules).
 * a debhelper class detecting Gradle build files, initializing the plugin
   and running Gradle in offline mode.

Bug#801896: ITP: libratbag -- configuration library for gaming mice

2015-10-15 Thread Stephen Kitt
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Stephen Kitt

* Package name: libratbag
  Version : 0.1.0
  Upstream Author : Benjamin Tissoires
* URL : https://github.com/libratbag/libratbag/

  Programming Lang: C
  Description : configuration library for gaming mice

libratbag is a configuration library for gaming mice. It provides a
generic way to access the various features exposed by these mice and
abstracts away hardware-specific and kernel-specific quirks.
.
It currently supports some Etekcity and Roccat mice, and most Logitech
mice (both gaming and generic mice).
