This module is a very thin wrapper [1] around regexp_pattern (from re pragma).

Is it required by another module ?

If not, is it worth the trouble ?

All the best

Description : family of perl modules to streamline writing Monitoring
plugins

Monitoring::Plugin and its associated Monitoring::Plugin::* modules are a
family of perl modules to streamline writing Monitoring plugins. The main end
user modules are Monitoring::Plugin, providing an object-oriented interface
to the entire Monitoring::Plugin::* collection, and
Monitoring::Plugin::Functions, providing a simpler functional interface to a
useful subset of the available functionality.

The purpose of the collection is to make it as simple as possible for
developers to create plugins that conform the Monitoring Plugin guidelines
(https://www.monitoring-plugins.org/doc/guidelines.html).

Description : Adaptive Entropy Coding library

Libaec provides fast lossless compression of 1 up to 32 bit wide
signed or unsigned integers (samples). The library achieves best
results for low entropy data as often encountered in space imaging
instrument data or numerical model output from weather or climate
simulations. While floating point representations are not directly
supported, they can also be efficiently coded by grouping exponents
 and mantissa.

Libaec implements Golomb Rice coding as defined in the Space Data
 System Standard documents 121.0-B-2 [1] and 120.0-G-2[2].

libaec also includes a free drop-in implementation of the SZIP
 library.

Description : utility to receive RAS error messages

rasdaemon is a RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability) logging
tool. It currently records memory errors, using the EDAC tracing events.
EDAC are drivers in the Linux kernel that handle detection of ECC errors
from memory controllers for most chipsets on x86 and ARM architectures.
This userspace component consists of an init script which makes sure EDAC
drivers and DIMM labels are loaded at system startup, as well as a utility
for reporting current error counts from the EDAC sysfs files.

While the edac-utils package provides similar information, the intent of
this project is to add extensive RAS information provided by the ACPI APEI
(ACPI Platform Error Interfaces, Section 18 of the specification) over time.
Hence, the plan is that this package will grow beyond reporting EDAC
information.

This package will be maintained by the submitter as part of his daily job
responsibilities. And while the submitter is currently a new user of this
tool, he will be using it much more frequently and will be providing new
and extended functionality over time.

uploaded. This package is part of that ROS system.

Most of the packaging work is already done, and available at

Description : Robot OS Common service messages

This package is part of Robot OS (ROS). It contains the python
interface to messages relating to the ROS common services and
computation graph. Most users are not expected to interact with
messages in this package, and it is strongly advised against. These
messages are generally wrapped in higher level APIs.

  Description : Docker-native clustering system

Docker Swarm is native clustering for Docker. It turns a pool of Docker
hosts into a single, virtual host.

Swarm serves the standard Docker API, so any tool which already communicates
with a Docker daemon can use Swarm to transparently scale to multiple hosts:
Dokku, Compose, Krane, Flynn, Deis, DockerUI, Shipyard, Drone, Jenkins...
and, of course, the Docker client itself.

Like other Docker projects, Swarm follows the "batteries included but
removable" principle. It ships with a set of simple scheduling backends out
of the box, and as initial development settles, an API will be developed to
enable pluggable backends. The goal is to provide a smooth out-of-the-box
experience for simple use cases, and allow swapping in more powerful backends,
like Mesos, for large scale production deployments.

More about Docker Swarm:

The goal of Docker Swarm is to enable easier management of several Docker
systems -- many people looking to use docker (see docker.io package) in
production would benefit from this. At the moment, the proposed installation
instructions are to run Swarm as a Docker image, but this requires running
potentially untrusted code obtained over the Internet.

It is not a dependency for any other package. There are many competing
technologies but this is the most popular open source one, since it is
part of the Docker ecosystem itself.

I do not use it, yet, however many others do (or are looking to trial it).

Proposed maintainers for this package:

The Debian Golang team seems like an appropriate place to host this work.
As this is an RFP and not an ITP, I hope they are willing to maintain it.

Description : common command-line interface for Pacific Biosciences
analysis modules

To integrate with the pbsmrtpipe workflow engine, you must to be able to
generate a Tool Contract and to be able to run from a Resolved Tool Contract.
A Tool Contract contains the metadata of the exe, such as the file types of
inputs, outputs and options.
There are two principal use cases, first wrapping/calling python functions that
have been defined in external python packages, or scripts. Second, creating a
CLI tool that supports emitting tool contracts, running resolved tool contracts
and complete argparse-style CLI.

This package is part of the SMRT Analysis suite and is to be handled by
the Debian Med team.

We (Robotics section of Debian Science team) are packaging
ROS (Robot OS: http://www.ros.org/) for Debian. ROS uses
many packages already in Debian, but also has a set of
core/toolchain/build-system packages which are not yet
uploaded. This package is part of that ROS system.

Most of the packaging work is already done, and available at
http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/debian-science/packages/ros/

Description : Robot OS package library

This package is part of Robot OS (ROS). It is a library for
retrieving information about ROS packages and stacks. The rospkg
Python module provides basic utilities for querying information about
ROS packages, stacks, and distributions. There are several basic
APIs: ROS environment, RosPack/RosStack, OS detection, and
 distributions.

Yes, I am working on some dependencies to update libsharyanto-utils-perl
with latest upstream release.

libsharyanto-utils-perl have some new dependencies that are not in
Debian archive, and this dependencies have another dependencies that are
not too.

Bellow are dependencies that I am working on:

- Function::Fallback::CoreOrPP (done)
- Gen::Test::Rinci::FuncResult (to do)
- Data::Dump::OneLine (to do)
- Data::Dmp (to do)
- Regexp::Stringify (done)
- Version::Util (done)

At least I cannot find these modules in any Debian package using
"dh-make-perl locate", if some of them are present in some Debian
package warn me please.

Hey Roderick! I'm interested in getting this package into the archive
too, so I'd be glad to help out and be the Debian maintainer,
especially with such an obviously engaged upstream. :)

I've created a repo in collab-maint (will show up at
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/refind.git eventually),
and I'm currently working on getting your packaging ported over so I
can evaluate what needs to change for Debian. It's probably worth
taking a look at how "grub" and "lilo" handle the install stuff so we
can mimic.

Thanks! FWIW, I made some changes to 0.10.0 to help get the packaging
ready, although I realize it's not quite there yet. I need to do
another pass through the files to get all the copyright details
properly documented and create some patches to get the post-install
script doing the right stuff (that is, not installing to the ESP
automatically).

I was actually looking at the GRUB 2 packaging the other day, but it's
VERY complex! I haven't looked at LILO, ELILO, SYSLINUX, or anything
else yet. One concern/question I have is how the OS knows which, if
any, boot loader should be installed. I'm not sure if this is an issue
with Debian, but Ubuntu has a habit of re-installing GRUB if it's
removed, which of course is annoying if you're using something else.
If there's some approved Debian way of recording what boot loader(s)
are in use, we should tie into that.

I was planning on doing more work on this packaging issue this
weekend, which is a long one in the US because of Thanksgiving.

Nice! If you've got an Alioth account and commit on collab-maint,
feel free to commit directly to the WIP repo I set up (and if not, you
should definitely register for a -guest account :D;
https://alioth.debian.org/account/register.php).

I started converting the d/copyright file you've started over to the
DEP 5 format (http://dep.debian.net/deps/dep5/), but it still needs a
bit of work for sure (and I didn't check yet whether it already has a
section for debian/*, just copied the entires you'd already put in
with a TODO comment at the bottom for more work we need to do for full
format compliance).

Perhaps we punt on the postinst for now and just document in a
README.Debian or something how to install it? Having "refind-install"
(and all the proper files) available is leaps and bounds ahead of
where we're at now in the archive, so IMO just that would be a great
start. :) (With the plus side being that we could upload that as soon
as we get the d/copyright finished.)

Bug#759703: Any updates on Kea packages in Debian?

2015-11-25 Thread Tomek Mrugalski
Hi guys,
I saw that there was some discussion recently, but no packets available
yet. In case you missed it, Kea 0.9.2 was released and we're planning to
release Kea 1.0 beta in the next couple weeks.

As for the Marc's comment, I cannot say whether it sucks less than ISC
DHCP. I suppose it's up to the users to decide :)

Please do let me know if there's anything I could do (besides packaging
it myself) to help.

Cheers,
Tomek

Bug#533708: Licenses on libhugetlbfs files

2015-11-25 Thread Geoffrey Thomas
Hi Mel, Eric, and Jarod,

I'm looking into uploading libhugetlbfs to Debian, and I wanted to
double-check a few files with ambiguous copyright or license notices.
I assume they're all intended to be LGPLv2.1+ like the rest of the
package but they're not labeled as such.

* huge_page_setup_helper.py is labeled just "(c) Red Hat, Inc., 2009,"
but does not have a license statement. Jarod, can this be used under
LGPLv2.1+?

* Similarly, oprofile_start.sh just says "oprofile_start.sh (c) Mel
Gorman 2008" with no license statement. Mel, is this also LGPLv2.1+?

* A few files (TLBC/*, contrib/tlbmiss_cost.sh, cpupcstat,
oprofile_map_events.pl) are "Licensed under LGPL 2.1 as packaged with
libhugetlbfs." Eric, Mel, I assume that these are intended to be
LGPLv2.1 or any higher version, like the rest of the package?

Less importantly:

* alloc.c and two tests have _just_ a license, not a copyright
statement; I guess they're owned by IBM?

* There are a few other files without copyright notices, but right now
I'm assuming they're under the LGPL (though it would be great to have
comments on them, or a clear statement in a README). It's the ones
that have a copyright statement and no license that I want to be
particularly sure of.

* For the files that say things like "Copyright (C) 2005-2006 David
Gibson & Adam Litke, IBM Corporation.", do you know if the copyright
is held by the individuals as well as IBM, or just by IBM? I can just
copy these statements verbatim into debian/copyright, but it seems
worth clarifying.

Sorry about the annoyance, but Debian cares about getting this stuff
right (and I think that's a good policy, honestly). I can send in a
follow-up patch to add comments to the files that don't have copyright
notices once I get responses; I'd also be okay with a notice in the
README that clearly asserts a license for the entire package, if you'd
prefer that.

(By the way, I seem to be unable to subscribe to the librelist, which
is maybe where I should ask this - at least I have gotten no
confirmation email from my subscribe email, and I'm not sure how to
send without first subscribing as described in SubmittingCode.)

Also if there's anything you'd like me to be aware of when preparing
the Debian package or to package in a certain way, do let me know.

Thanks,

It was originally part of a GPL project but I fully intended it to have
the same license as libhugetlbfs when I created the patches. I had the
full rights to relicense it as the primary author.

Same here, the intent was to have the same license as libhugetlbfs
and I'm the principal author. However, I would suggest dropping them
from a package. They were valid at the time of writing but things like
oprofile_map_events.pl were not actively maintained and it would not be
used like that today. tlbmiss_cost.sh might still be valid in some cases
but modern TLB implementations are notoriously difficult to measure and I
would not trust the results it produced. If I needed to know the TLB miss
overhead in cycles these days, I would use different methods.

Yes. I was the main author and I was an employee of IBM at the time.
The terms of my contract transferred copyright to IBM.

Thanks for double checking and it's not even remotely annoying. I
understand and agree with your concerns.

If you cc me on the patch then I can explicitly ack the parts I'm confident
of. However, I do not have merge rights to that library (or at least I'm
unaware of it if I do). Eric does but I've no idea if he does any maintenance
work on it any more. I've taken the liberty of cc'ing him on an address that
should be active just in case he's not reading the email address you used.

I'm actually not subscribed to the libhugetlbfs-devel mailing list at the
moment so I know nothing about it. When I unsubscribed, it was a hell hole
of spam. There was very little real traffic once the project was deemed
feature complete for anything people cared about.

Nothing in particular other than I would suggest separating the library
and the administrative utilities such as hugeadm into separate packages.

Bug#533708: Licenses on libhugetlbfs files

Hi Mel, Eric, and Jarod,

I'm looking into uploading libhugetlbfs to Debian, and I wanted to
double-check a few files with ambiguous copyright or license notices.
I assume they're all intended to be LGPLv2.1+ like the rest of the
package but they're not labeled as such.

* huge_page_setup_helper.py is labeled just "(c) Red Hat, Inc., 2009,"
but does not have a license statement. Jarod, can this be used under
LGPLv2.1+?

I can't comment on this at all.

* Similarly, oprofile_start.sh just says "oprofile_start.sh (c) Mel
Gorman 2008" with no license statement. Mel, is this also LGPLv2.1+?

It was originally part of a GPL project but I fully intended it to have
the same license as libhugetlbfs when I created the patches. I had the
full rights to relicense it as the primary author.

* A few files (TLBC/*, contrib/tlbmiss_cost.sh, cpupcstat,
oprofile_map_events.pl) are "Licensed under LGPL 2.1 as packaged with
libhugetlbfs." Eric, Mel, I assume that these are intended to be
LGPLv2.1 or any higher version, like the rest of the package?

I will put together a patch that drops them at some point, I don't think
anyone is actually using them.

Less importantly:

* alloc.c and two tests have _just_ a license, not a copyright
statement; I guess they're owned by IBM?

Yes. I was the main author and I was an employee of IBM at the time.
The terms of my contract transferred copyright to IBM.

Thanks for double checking and it's not even remotely annoying. I

I can send in a
follow-up patch to add comments to the files that don't have copyright
notices once I get responses; I'd also be okay with a notice in the
README that clearly asserts a license for the entire package, if you'd
prefer that.

If you cc me on the patch then I can explicitly ack the parts I'm

I would be happy to merge such a patch. Until I have a new mailing
list,

please post a pull request on GitHub so anyone that may be watching can
see it.

Thanks for cc'ing my work address, but I do all libhugetlbfs work from
this

address to keep all my libhugetlbfs work separate from my Akamai work.

(By the way, I seem to be unable to subscribe to the librelist, which
is maybe where I should ask this - at least I have gotten no
confirmation email from my subscribe email, and I'm not sure how to
send without first subscribing as described in SubmittingCode.)

Part of the motivation to move to librelist was the lack of spam
filtering

on Sourceforge. Unfortunately, the librelist doesn't seem to keep the
list around, so I am hunting for a new host. I will update the GitHub
repo when I find one.

Also if there's anything you'd like me to be aware of when preparing
the Debian package or to package in a certain way, do let me know.

Bug#806286: ITP: libgoogle-truth-java -- Assertion/Proposition framework for Java unit tests

2015-11-25 Thread tony mancill
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: tony mancill

* Package name: libgoogle-truth-java
  Version : 0.27
Upstream Author : Christian Gruber, Kurt Kluever, David Saff, David B
* URL : http://google.github.io/truth
* License : Apache 2.0
  Programming Lang: Java
Description : Assertion/Proposition framework for Java unit tests

Truth is a testing framework designed to make your tests and their error
messages more readable and discoverable, while being extensible to new
 types of objects.
 .
Truth adopts a fluent style for test propositions, is extensible in
several ways, supports IDE completion/discovery of available
propositions, and supports different responses to un-true propositions.
Truth can be used to declare JUnit-style assumptions (which skip the
test on failure), assertions (interrupt the test on failure), and
expectations (continue the test, but collect errors and report failure
 at the end).

This package is a pre-requisite for packaging the latest version of
the closure-compiler.
