Bug#814407: ITP: fuel-web -- OpenStack Fuel deployment server & web GUI

2016-02-11 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Thomas Goirand

* Package name: fuel-web
  Version : 9.0~0+2016.02.11.git.0a3a744bd5+dfsg1
  Upstream Author : OpenStack Foundation
* URL : https://github.com/openstack/fuel-web
* License : Apache-2.0, Expat
  Programming Lang: Python, Ruby, Javascript
  Description : OpenStack Fuel deployment server & web GUI

 Fuel is an open source deployment and management tool for OpenStack. Developed
 as an OpenStack community effort, it provides an intuitive, GUI-driven
 experience for deployment and management of OpenStack, related community
 projects and plug-ins.
 .
 Fuel brings consumer-grade simplicity to streamline and accelerate the
 otherwise time-consuming, often complex, and error-prone process of deploying,
 testing and maintaining various configuration flavors of OpenStack at scale.
 Unlike other platform-specific deployment or management utilities, Fuel is an
 upstream OpenStack project that focuses on automating the deployment and
 testing of OpenStack and a range of third-party options, so it’s not
 compromised by hard bundling or vendor lock-in.
 .
 Nailgun is the core part of a Fuel master node server. It consists of a REST
 API server (nailgun-api), and a web interface (nailgun-web).

Description: counters and logarithmically bucketed histograms for
distributed systems
 A metric system for high performance counters and histograms. Unlike
 popular metric systems today, this does not destroy the accuracy of
 histograms by sampling. Instead, a logarithmic bucketing function
 compresses values, generally within 1% of their true value (although
 between 0 and 1 the precision loss may not be within this boundary). This
 allows for extreme compression, which allows us to calculate arbitrarily
 high percentiles with no loss of accuracy - just a small amount of
 precision. This is particularly useful for highly-clustered events that
 are tolerant of a small precision loss, but for which you REALLY care
 about what the tail looks like, such as measuring latency across a
 distributed system.

Bug#814418: ITP: python-shotgun -- Create and save Fuel diagnostic snapshots

2016-02-11 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Thomas Goirand

* Package name: python-shotgun
  Version : 0.1.0~0+2016.12.30.git.0682f20c42
  Upstream Author : OpenStack Foundation
* URL : https://github.com/openstack/shotgun
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : Create and save Fuel diagnostic snapshots

 Fuel is an open source deployment and management tool for OpenStack. Developed
 as an OpenStack community effort, it provides an intuitive, GUI-driven
 experience for deployment and management of OpenStack, related community
 projects and plug-ins.
 .
 Fuel brings consumer-grade simplicity to streamline and accelerate the
 otherwise time-consuming, often complex, and error-prone process of deploying,
 testing and maintaining various configuration flavors of OpenStack at scale.
 Unlike other platform-specific deployment or management utilities, Fuel is an
 upstream OpenStack project that focuses on automating the deployment and
 testing of OpenStack and a range of third-party options, so it’s not
 compromised by hard bundling or vendor lock-in.
 .
 Shotgun takes a yaml files with command lines as argument so that it can
 collect log files and such to help diagnose problems in Fuel.

Bug#801253: Fwd: informing you as my sponsor about what I do (especially emails)

2016-02-11 Thread toogley

Seems reasonable to post this message also here.. :D

 Forwarded Message
Subject: informing you as my sponsor about what I do (especially emails)
Date: Thu, 11 Feb 2016 13:27:43 +0100
From: toogley
To: a...@debian.org

Hey.

i know that you receive a note, e.g. when i close a bug. But I'm still
feeling a bit unsure because you may overlook sometimes sth i did - and
when i did sth wrong (e.g. in responding to a bug) you only can correct
my mistake afterwards. This wouldn't be an efficient workflow and it
doesn't look trustworthy for external persons. Well essentially, i
didn't inform you about
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=814090#10
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=775979#10 .

==> So basically, my question is how i should inform you as my sponsor
about what i do. I thought about just CC'ing in every mail i'd sent, but
that doesn't solve the correcting-my-mistakes-problem, I described above.

  Description : Post-quantum encryption and signing tool.

Codecrypt is a quantum-computer-resistant cryptography tool that can be used
to encrypt, decrypt, sign and verify documents and communications in a manner
similar to GnuPG or PGP.

Several users requested inclusions of the software in Debian; the packages
are already available (from ./build-debian-package.sh), working & passing
lintian checks.

Bug#814448: RFP: grive2 -- Google Drive client with support for new Drive REST API and partial sync

2016-02-11 Thread Jochen Kemnade
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: grive2
  Version : 0.5.0
  Upstream Author : Vitaliy Filippov
* URL : http://yourcmc.ru/wiki/Grive2
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : Google Drive client with support for new Drive REST API and
partial sync

This is the fork of original "Grive" (https://github.com/Grive/grive) Google
Drive client with the support for the new Drive REST API and partial sync.

Grive can be considered still beta or pre-beta quality. It simply downloads all
the files in your Google Drive into the current directory. After you make some
changes to the local files, run grive again and it will upload your changes
back to your Google Drive. New files created locally or in Google Drive will be
uploaded or downloaded respectively. Deleted files will also be "removed".
Currently Grive will NOT destroy any of your files: it will only move the files
to a directory named .trash or put them in the Google Drive trash. You can
always recover them.
