Bug#834282: ITP: squid-prefetch -- Simple page-prefetch for Squid3 web proxy

2016-08-13 Thread hiroshi
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: hiroshi

* Package name: squid-prefetch
  Version : 1.1-3
  Upstream Author :
* URL :
* License : (public domain)
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Simple page-prefetch for Squid3 web proxy

Squid-Prefetch will perform early fetches of pages
linked to by pages already read.
This means that a user that clicks on a link will have
that new page appear instantly instead of having to
wait for it to be fetched from the Internet.
Only text pages are prefetched on the assumption that
the images can be loaded later so long as the text
of a page is available for display.

orphaned package squid-prefetch_1.1-3 was fixed to use with squid3.
also fixed error on install.

Subject: RFP: glmlite -- OCaml bindings for OpenGL
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-ocaml-ma...@lists.debian.org
Version: N/A; reported 2010-04-14

Package name: glmlite
Package Version: 0.03.49
Upstream Author: Florent Monnier
URL: http://www.linux-nantes.org/%7Efmonnier/OCaml/GL/
License: GPL
Description: OCaml bindings for OpenGL.
This package provides OCaml bindings for OpenGL.
There is a module for GL, Glu and Glut, and also some
texture loaders for different image file formats.
There are specialised/optimised loaders for jpeg, png and svg,
and also a generic image loader (which uses the libmagick).
The names of the functions are the same than in the C API,
and buffers are managed with bigarrays.
It is possible to write froward-compatible programs with glMLite.

More Informations for the packager:
By default building with only make will only build the OpenGL bindings because
this is what most people will want. Also if you wish to build everything you
have to install the -devel packages with the header files.
To build everything the command is 'make everything' then you need the devel
packages for these libraries: OpenGL, GLU, Glut, libjpeg, libpng, librsvg,
libmagick, libgle, libftgl.

The tarball also contains a lot of examples, here is the list of directories
(from the base dir):
TEST/ TEST3/ RedBook-Samples/ gle-examples/ nehe-examples/ LablGL/
If you package these examples I would recommend to patch the makefiles in these
directories, because the makefiles are made to work with the sources next to
it. So here are patches to make these makefiles work with the installed
library:

  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Python 3 packet generator/sniffer and network
scanner/discovery

Scapy is a powerful interactive packet manipulation tool, packet generator,
network scanner, network discovery, packet sniffer, etc. It can for the
moment replace hping, 85% of nmap, arpspoof, arp-sk, arping, tcpdump,
tethereal, p0f,

In scapy you define a set of packets, then it sends them, receives answers,
matches requests with answers and returns a list of packet couples (request,
answer) and a list of unmatched packets. This has the big advantage over
tools like nmap or hping that an answer is not reduced to
(open/closed/filtered), but is the whole packet.

Upstream synopsis:

git pull has two problems:

  * It merges upstream changes by default, when it's really more
polite to rebase over them, unless your collaborators enjoy a
commit graph that looks like bedhead.
  * It only updates the branch you're currently on, which means git
push will shout at you for being behind on branches you don't
particularly care about right now.

Solve them once and for all.

Description : libuv bindings for lua

libuv is a multi-platform support library with a focus on asynchronous I/O.

This package provides libuv bindings for the Lua programming language.

lua-luv is a dependency for lua-nvim (not yet packaged nor ITP'd), which in
turn is a dependency to run the tests for neovim, and in the future will likely
provide Lua bindings for neovim plugins.

I will maintain lua-luv in the pkg-lua team.

Description : consolation linux console pointer support

This package provides pointer support to the linux console for
 copy-paste and scrolling.
 .
It is based on the libinput library and supports all pointer devices and
 settings provided by this library.

The motivation beind this is that modern touchpads are poorly supported
by GPM, and GPM itself is considered unmaintainable.

Consolation use of libinput allow for touchpads support on par with the
X and Wayland drivers.

(Help with improving the description is welcome)

Cheers,

Description : Internet Key Exchange daemon

Libreswan is an IPsec implementation for Linux. It has support for most
of the extensions (RFC + IETF drafts) related to IPsec, including
IKEv2, X.509 Digital Certificates, NAT Traversal, and many others.

The openswan package has been removed from the debian archive now, could be
interesting to have this to replace it.

In the archive also have strongswan, but it is missing some feature like
labeled IPSEC (SELinux) support or a good integration with network-manager for
the roadwarriors.

This package contains compatible interfaces against the result type of
TemplateHaskell reify function.

- This package provides compatible interface for the result type of
reify query function in TemplateHaskell between GHC 7.x and 8.0
- This package is used in Haskell Relatoinal Record (HRR)
  ( http://khibino.github.io/haskell-relational-record/ ) project.
So, this package is required to package HRR.
- I'm planning to maintain this package inside the pkg-haskell team.

Dear Bart,

These packages were never orphaned before someone decided to adopt
them. The maintainers only requested an adopter. So they should be
changed back to RFA and not to O.

Please be more careful in the future when you change RFAs to O. At
least I'd be pissed off if you would do that to one of my RFAs.

Regards, Axel

XSCOPE is a program to monitor the connections between the X11 window
server and a client program. xscope runs as a separate process. By
adjusting the host and/or display number that a X11 client attaches
to, the client is attached to xscope instead of X11. xscope attaches
to X11 as if it were the client. All bytes from the client are sent
to xscope which passes them on to X11; All bytes from X11 are sent to
xscope which sends them on to the client. xscope is transparent to
the client and X11.

In addition to passing characters back and forth, xscope will print
information about this traffic on stdout, giving performance and
debugging information for an X11 client and server.

Description : DTI spatial normalization and atlas construction toolkit
DTI-TK is a spatial normalization & atlas construction toolkit,
designed from ground up to support the manipulation of
diffusion-tensor images (DTI) with special cares taken to respect the
tensorial nature of the data. It implements a state-of-the-art
registration algorithm that drives the alignment of white matter (WM)
tracts by matching the orientation of the underlying fiber bundle at
each voxel. The algorithm has been shown to both improve WM tract
alignment and to enhance the power of statistical inference in
clinical settings. The key features include:
 .
  - NIfTI support for scalar, vector and DTI volumes
  - tool chains for manipulating DTI volumes: resampling, smoothing,
warping, registration & visualization
  - pipelines for WM morphometry: spatial normalization & atlas
construction for population-based studies
  - built-in cluster-computing support
  - interoperability with other major DTI tools: AFNI, Camino,
DTIStudio & FSL

Meabench is a set of interacting linux programs for recording data
from MEAs and real time processing. It can be used to acquire and
visualize data from MultiChannel Systems multi-electrode array
hardware in real time. On-line spike detection is available, as well
as suppression of artifacts induced by 60 Hz pickup and by
stimulation. A growing number of small utilities for data analysis is
included with the source code, and you can easily add your
own. Meabench provides continuous and triggered recording of raw
electrode data as well as extracted spike data. Meabench is very
suitable for real-time feedback stimulation, since roundtrip times
from pre-amplifier to stimulator is less than 200 ms worst-case (less
 than 50 ms average).

Debian packages of CRAN packages of R code offer
at least two advantages: better dependencies and
updates.

Please package the cran2deb scripts at

https://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/cran2deb/

It seems to me that this might make it easier for
Debian users to upgrade Debian's R CRAN packages
ourselves, instead of bugging you.

Thanks,
Kingsley

* Package name: phptidy
  Version : 2.10
  Upstream Author : Magnus Rosenbaum
* URL : http://developer.berlios.de/projects/phptidy/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: PHP
Description : Beautifier for PHP code

This is a little tool for formatting PHP code. It aims to make the code better
readable and thus better understandable.

Unlike other beautifiers, phptidy does not completely reformat the code and
remove formatting, which was intended by the author. It only touches things
which are usually not intended. In case of doubt, phptidy will not touch
anything. Because of this strategy it is also very unlikely, that phptidy by
fault changes the functionality of the code.

phptidy is useful in many situations:

- You can use it on your own code during development to keep the code tidy,
wasting no time on indenting and formatting by hand.

- In a project with more than one person coding you have less trouble with
people who do not confirm to the style guide.

- If you use a version control system you can require all participating people
to run phptidy before committing changes. Then you won't have anymore trouble
with unintended changes due to code formatting or with the trailing
whitespace or wrong line breaks of some brain dead editors (or their users).

- If you have to maintain some ultimately ugly code of someone else. After
running phptidy the code will be much better readable. Well, the code will
not be perfect, but it's a big help anyway.

The used coding standard is mainly inspired by the PEAR Coding Standards:
http://pear.php.net/manual/en/standards.php

phptidy is released under the GPL and can be used for free.

[Yes, there already is a similarly named php5-tidy package here in Debian
(but which tidies HTML.) Magnus: RFP means I Request For
somebody to Package this for Debian. --jidanni]

  Programming Lang: C++
Description : framework for closed-loop neurophysiological experiments
RELACS is designed as an framework for closed-loop experiments that
may considerably speed up this traditional approach and in addition
offers novel experimental possibilities. In a closed-loop experiment
a stimulus is presented, the resulting response is immediately
analyzed, and properties of the next stimulus (e.g. mean
 intensity) are adjusted as needed.
 .
RELACS comes with an extensive set of data-analysis functions. The
functions are implemented in C++ to allow fast and memory efficient
data-analysis as it is required for closed-loop experiments:
  - Basic statistics (e.g. mean, standard deviation)
  - Spectral analysis: power spectrum, transfer function, coherence
  - Linear and nonlinear fits (Levenberg-Marquardt and Simplex)
  - Peak detection
  - Histograms, interpolation
  - Stimulus generation: pulse, saw tooth, band-pass filtered white
noise, Ornstein-Uhlenbeck noise
  - Firing rates: mean, binned, convolved with kernels (e.g. rectangle,
triangle, Gaussian)
  - Interspike intervals: histogram, CV, serial correlation, etc.
  - Spike timing precision: vector strength, reliability, correlation,
synchrony etc.
 .
RELACS plugin infrastructure allows to adapt it to specific hardware
drivers and they allow you to implement research protocols, filters,
 spike detectors, etc.

Description : cache for WMS tiles

Mapping clients, such as OpenLayers or GoogleMaps, render WMS (Web Map
Service) tiles every time they are queried, which can result in
unnecessary processing and increased waiting times.
 .
GeoWebCache optimizes this experience by saving (caching) map tiles as
they are requested, in effect acting as a proxy between client (such
as OpenLayers or Google Maps) and server (such as GeoServer, or any
WMS-compliant server). As new maps and tiles are requested,
GeoWebCache intercepts these calls and returns pre-rendered tiles if
stored, or calls the server to render new tiles as necessary. Thus,
once tiles are stored, the speed of map rendering increases many
times, making for a more seamless user experience.

Description: Distributed process launching library for Python

With Lunch, one can launch software processes on several different
computers and make sure they keep running. This software was created to
suit the needs of new media artists for live performances and
interactive installations. Lunch is very useful software for artists
and people creating installation that need to run day and night.
It's very easy to launch software processes on many hosts via SSH
with this tool.

This package contains the lunch library for Python. There is already the
lunch package, which provides two executables. This package provides a
Python library to allow a developer to launch processes like the Lunch
application.

Lunch is written in Python with Twisted and GTK+.
See http://svn.sat.qc.ca/trac/lunch for more information.

The latest tarball can be downloaded from this address:
http://alexandre.quessy.net/static/tarballs/

The license is GPL version 2 or above. Same for the packaging itself.
I am the upstream author.

Maco Jez's genwrapper is a utility program that reads C++ header files
and then automatically generates osgWrapper code from to use alongside
osgIntrospection.

GenWrapper was created as an 'ad-hoc' tool to support the development of
osgIntrospection and it was never intended to be used with anything
other than OSG source files, nor it was designed to meet requirements
other than the author's ones. GenWrapper was tested on the OSG source
tree ONLY and it's not known to work with anything else. If you want to
use GenWrapper on your own application's source tree, try to follow OSG
coding conventions and directory layout in order to minimize the risk of
failure. GENWRAPPER MAY OVERWRITE AND DESTROY YOUR FILES, USE AT YOUR
OWN RISK. ALWAYS MAKE BACKUPS!!!

Wrappers are generated from a two-phases process. The first phase
requires an XML description of source files to be created with Doxygen
(GenWrapper can build a Doxyfile for you). In the second phase
GenWrapper takes the XML input and generates C++ introspection wrappers
and optionally GNU makefiles and VS6 project files.

This code is released in the public domain.

You can download it from http://github.com/mikewoz/genwrapper

* URL : http://fetchlog.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C
Description : fetchlog -- fetch and convert new messages of a logfile

The fetchlog utility displays the last new messages of a logfile.
It is similar like tail (1) but offers some extra functionality like
pattern matching with regular expressions or output formatting. To show
only the new messages appeared since the last call fetchlog uses a
bookmark to remember which messages have been fetched.

fetchlog works on syslog generated logfiles as well as other logfiles.

fetchlog can be used standalone or as a Nagios (TM) plugin. Together
with Net-SNMP one can look at/monitor new messages in remote logfiles.

MoonPy is an open-source remake of the classic strategy game Moonbase
Commander. A multiplayer turn-based game. On their turn the player can
spend energy points by attacking their opponents and/or adding more
buildings to their base. Turns continue until all players either pass or
run out
of energy. The round then ends, players regain energy, and continue
taking
turns. All buildings are ground-based and are attached by a tether to
the
building that created them. All units need to be "launched" similar to
many
artillery games though in a top-down perspective.

snap2 combines the convenience of full backups with the speed and backup
storage economy of incremental backups.

The snap2 package consists basically of a non-interactive shell script
(snap2engine) and an interactive GUI (snap2) for configuring and
optionally running the backup. Since this program is normally configured
and run (directly or via cron) by via snap2 GUI, no manual editing of
configuration files or running from the command line is needed.

snap2 does rotating 'shapshot' backups as well as 'mirror' type (single
copy) backups. When using the snapshot backup method, snap2 uses hard
links to copy identical files on the backup drive. This greatly reduces
the disk space required on the backup drive, allowing several gigs of
backup 'snapshots' to fit on a one-gig USB flash drive.

In addition, when backing up a file that was modified since the last
backup, the rsync backend only needs to transmit the changed portions of
the file in order to create the new backup file. This saves bandwidth,
particularly important for backup to a remote host (via Internet).

snap2 is available at http://www.linuxbackups.org/download

This is a small program to download and upload Picasa Photo Albums. You
just have to provide the username, and then choose between the
available
 albums which one to download.

Description : A set of libraries for creating and modifying PDF documents

PDFsharp is a CLI library for processing PDF files. You create PDF pages using
drawing routines known from GDI+. Almost anything that can be done with GDI+
will also work with PDFsharp. Only basic text layout is supported by PDFsharp,
and page breaks are not created automatically. The same drawing routines can be
used for screen, PDF, or meta files.

MigraDoc is a CLI library which performs document generation. It supports
almost anything you find in any good word processor. You just add paragraphs,
tables, charts, arrange all this in sections, use bookmarks to create links,
tables of contents, indexes, etc. MigraDoc will do the layout creating page
breaks as needed. MigraDoc is capable of creating PDF, XPS, and RTF documents.
