  Description : standalone password candidate generator using the PRINCE
algorithm

Princeprocessor is a password candidate generator and can be thought of
as an advanced combinator attack. Rather than taking as input two different
wordlists and then outputting all the possible two word combinations though,
princeprocessor only has one input wordlist and builds "chains" of combined
words. These chains can have 1 to N words from the input wordlist
concatenated together.
The name PRINCE is used as an acronym and stands for PRobability INfinite
Chained Elements, which are the building blocks of the algorithm.

  Description : emelFM2 is a file manager that implements the popular
two-pane design.

emelfm2 is a file manager for UNIX-like operating systems. It uses a simple and
efficient interface
pioneered by Norton Commander, in the 1980s. The main window is divided into
three parts, described
as "panes" or "panels". Two of those (side-by-side or top-to-bottom) show the
contents of selected
filesystem directories. The third pane, at the bottom of the window, shows the
output of commands
executed within the program. Those panes can be resized, and any one or two of
them can be hidden
and unhidden, on request. A built-in command-line, toolbar buttons or assigned
keys can be used to
initiate commands.
emelFM2 is the GTK+2 port of emelFM

Hi Guillem. This package is already in Debian under the source package name
"golang-osext". It's not the latest version though, so there is still some work

Bug#840686: ITP: gudhi -- C++ template library for topological data analysis

2016-10-13 Thread Gard Spreemann
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Gard Spreemann

* Package name: gudhi
  Version : 1.3.1
  Upstream Author : Gudhi project / INRIA
* URL : http://gudhi.gforge.inria.fr/
* License : GPL-3+
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : C++ template library for topological data analysis

The GUDHI library is a generic open source C++ library for Topological
Data Analysis (TDA) and Higher Dimensional Geometry Understanding. The
library offers state-of-the-art data structures and algorithms to
construct simplicial complexes and compute persistent homology.

The GUDHI library is developed as part of the GUDHI project supported
by the European Research Council.

I have initial packaging of the libgudhi-dev (the headers for this
template-based library) done, and will add the comprehensive set of
examples later.

I would need a sponsor.

 Best regards,
 Gard Spreemann

That is not a good synopsis description, please re-read Developer's
Reference §6.2.2 for how to phrase the synopsis.

> JavaScript unobfuscator and beautifier.

This is closer; maybe “beautifier for JavaScript code”. Remember that it
is a noun phrase, not a full sentence, so omit the full stop at the end.

Bug#840676: RFP: golang-github-kardianos-osext -- Extensions to the standard "os" package

2016-10-13 Thread Guillem Jover
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

* Package name: golang-github-kardianos-osext
  Version : 0.0~git20160811.0.c2c54e5-1
  Upstream Author : Daniel Theophanes
* URL : https://github.com/kardianos/osext
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : Extensions to the standard "os" package

 There is sometimes utility in finding the current executable file that is
 running. This can be used for upgrading the current executable or finding
 resources located relative to the executable file. Both working directory
 and the os.Args[0] value are arbitrary and cannot be relied on; os.Args[0]
 can be "faked".

This package is a dependency of golang-github-kardianos-service, which
is a dependency of latest telegraf upstream releases.

Attached a working and tested packaging. It only requires filling in
this ITP bug number in debian/changelog, changing the Maintainer field
and adding Vcs fields.

Thanks,
Guillem

This used to be httpd.el but there are already several of these out there
already of varying usefulness. Since the name change, it's been stripped down
to simply serve files and directory listings. Client requests are sanitized so
this should be safe, but its author makes no guarantees.

Supple is a very strict sandbox which runs Lua code on behalf of applications
which cannot trust the code very much.

Supple is a dependency of Gitano which I am working towards releasing with
Debian Stretch.

Maintainership will be myself initially, with one or two willing assistants in
the future. They are not yet DDs or DMs though.

 Deep Eql is a module which you can use to determine if two objects are
"deeply"
 equal - that is, rather than having referential equality (a === b),
this module
 checks an object's keys recursively, until it finds primitives to check
for
 referential equality. For more on equality in JavaScript, read the
comparison

 operators article on mdn.
 .
 Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

Bug#840675: RFP: influxdb-relay -- a basic high availability layer for InfluxDB

2016-10-13 Thread Guillem Jover
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: influxdb-relay
  Version : 0.0~20160928.0.535181e
  Upstream Author : InfluxData
* URL : https://github.com/influxdata/influxdb-relay
* License : Expat
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : a basic high availability layer for InfluxDB

  This daemon listens for InfluxDB requests and forwards them to one or
  more InfluxDB servers, allowing to replicate for example writes requests
  to multiple destinations.

This package is helpful if you are deploying InfluxDB on a cluster
and need some kind of basic replication and HA setup.

Attached a working and tested packaging patch (execept for the systemd
service file), where only the ITP bug number needs to be filled in the
debian/changelog, Maintainer changed, and Vcs fields added.

Thanks,
Guillem

you can also maintain the package in the letsencrypt team, which is
collecting all software related to letsencrypt.

Within the team, I'm also very available for sponsoring, if you need it.

I was only asking...

As the package states, there is already an emcas WebDAV interface. The
purpose of eldav appears to be a smaller WebDAV client (disclaimer: I
have not used either).

There is no upstream and the last upstream release is 13 years old. In
this time no-one appears - from my extremely extensive google search :)
- to have continued development and now the package has no maintainer I
think it's likely that it will just rot.

You're probably right about that.

Bug#768073: [pkg-go] Bug#768073: LXC team take over ITP?

2016-10-13 Thread Christopher Bachner
Hello,

I have been using LXD for many months now, so I am patiently waiting for
the day when I will be able to use it on Debian! Thanks for all the work
y'all.

I was wondering what the plan is regarding the apparmor compatibility? I
think that LXD needs apparmor and as far as I know, apparmor is a kernel
thing and it needs to be baked into the kernel. Would there be an
alternative kernel for LXD in the repos then or how will this work?

Thanks!

In the interim this has already been packaged and is in the archive,
but packaging a new telegraf requires a newer upstream version, for
which I've updated the block above.

The package is still up for adoption, any news here?

If I don't hear from you I'll take over the package next week,
incorporate the uploads that have accumulated in the meantime and do a
force-push of the repo to show the actual content. Then I'll upgrade to
1.0.3 and current dh9.

Of course anyone is invited to help. Feel free to push changes to the
repo and do uploads yourself at any time.

Bug#840633: RFP: golang-github-retailnext-hllpp -- HyperLogLog++ cardinality estimation algorithm

2016-10-13 Thread Guillem Jover
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: golang-github-retailnext-hllpp
  Version : 0.0~git20160427.0.83bfdfd-1
  Upstream Author : RetailNext, Inc.
* URL : https://github.com/retailnext/hllpp
* License : BSD-3-clause
  Programming Lang: Go
  Description : HyperLogLog++ cardinality estimation algorithm

 hllpp is an implementation of the HyperLogLog++ cardinality estimation
 algorithm in go. It optimizes for memory usage over CPU usage. It
 implements all the HyperLogLog optimizations introduced in the
 HyperLogLog++ paper (http://goo.gl/Z5Sqgu). Some notable features include:
 .
  * Marshaling so you can serialize to your datastore,
  * Extra space savings by only using 5 bits per register when possible,
  * Built-in non-streaming murmur3 implementation for fast hashing of input
data.

This package is required by the latest influxdb upstream. Attached tested
packaging, which only needs the ITP bug filled in debian/changelog,
Maintainer field changed, and Vcs fields added.

Thanks,
Guillem

Bug#840631: ITP: picocoin -- A C library for implementing Bitcoin applications

2016-10-13 Thread Joel Manuel De Jesus
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Joel Manuel De Jesus

* Package name: picocoin
  Version : 0.5
  Upstream Author : Jeff Garzik
* URL : http://bloq.com/
* License : MIT/X
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : A C library for implementing Bitcoin applications

Picocoin is a C library that allows programmers to implement Bitcoin related
functionality in not only C programs, but also in programs written in the many
languages that support linking to C libraries. While there are other Bitcoin
libraries
out there, none are as flexible and easy to use as a C library.

Bitcoin is a peer to peer digital currency that is used around the world.
Demand
for Bitcoin software has increased dramatically in the last 5 years. As such,
it
is important for users of Debian to be able to interact with the Bitcoin peer
to
peer network.

Picocoin allows programmers on Debian to not only write financial applications,
but
also security applications such as Public Key Infrastructure and create simple,
immutable
databases. The latter applications are refered to as Blockchain applications.

 Packages using Xerial for snappy encoding use a framing format
 incompatible with basically everything else in existence. This package
 wraps Go's built-in snappy package to support it.

This is a requirement for new usptream releases of

Tested and working packaging attached. Just needs filling in the ITP

Bug#768073: LXC team take over ITP?

2016-10-13 Thread Jonathan Dowland
Hi Team,

Just a quick mail to say hello, I recently joined because I am interested
in packaging (at least) build dependencies for LXD, which is Canonical's
container hypervisor platform.

The specific go dependencies that we need to package are:

* golang-gopkg-flosch-pongo2.v3-dev
* golang-gopkg-inconshreveable-log15.v2-dev
* golang-gopkg-lxc-go-lxc.v2-dev
* golang-any-shared-dev
* golang-go.crypto-dev
* golang-context-dev
* golang-github-gorilla-mux-dev
* golang-github-gosexy-gettext-dev
* golang-github-mattn-go-colorable-dev
* golang-github-mattn-go-sqlite3-dev
* golang-github-olekukonko-tablewriter-dev
* golang-github-pborman-uuid-dev
* golang-gocapability-dev
* golang-gopkg-tomb.v2-dev
* golang-yaml.v2-dev
* golang-websocket-dev

I'm looking at flosch-pongo2 right now, but I thought I'd post the list to this
mailing list just in case anyone else was interested in getting involved!

I've set up this wiki.d.o page to track progress on the above:
https://wiki.debian.org/LXD

Thanks,
