Bug#883721: ITP: helpman -- quick & easy access to 4000+ manuals / guides / tutorials
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Nathan SR* Package name: helpman Version : 1.0 Upstream Author : * URL : https://sourceforge.net/projects/helpman-1/ * License : GPL Programming Lang: Python Description : quick & easy access to 4000+ manuals / guides / tutorials Helpman provides a classified access to the manuals, installed by user / system programs, automatically. It also supports typing a program / manual name, in the Select Manual: text / combo box directly, to display it quickly. Error Messages will be shown below, if a manual is not found. The Manual Type list box, shows sections 1 to 8, useful for specific display of a version of the manual. Say for example, if you see, CRON(8) in a manual, it means the CRON manual in the 8th section. So a user should choose appropriately. Please click the info button for more details.

The client and server are both FOSS; I'd love to see both packaged, though the client would be higher priority. The server uses node.js; the client uses NW.js. Bug#883686: ITP: clonalorigin -- inference of homologous recombination in bacteria using whole genome sequences
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Andreas Tille* Package name: clonalorigin Version : 1.0 Upstream Author : Xavier Didelot * URL : https://github.com/xavierdidelot/clonalorigin * License : GPL Programming Lang: C++ Description : inference of homologous recombination in bacteria using whole genome sequences Bacteria, unlike us, can reproduce on their own. They do however have mechanisms that transfer DNA between organisms, a process more formally known as recombination. The mechanisms by which recombination takes place have been studied extensively in the laboratory but much remains to be understood concerning how, when and where recombination takes place within natural populations of bacteria and how it helps them to adapt to new environments. ClonalOrigin performs a comparative analysis of the sequences of a sample of bacterial genomes in order to reconstruct the recombination events that have taken place in their ancestry. Remark: The source code contains a GUI as well but this is non-functional. Upstream confirmed himself that this was not used long ago and he has no idea how to fix it. Thus this package will only contain the CLI. It will be packaged by the Debian Med team at https://anonscm.debian.org/git/debian-med/clonalorigin.git
