Bug#890360: RFP: vlc-plugin-bittorrent -- Bittorrent plugin for VLC

2018-02-14 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

I created a proof of concept Debian package in the debian branch on
https://github.com/petterreinholdtsen/vlc-bittorrent >. It
hardcodes the amd64 arch, but could serve as inspiration for a official
Debian package, which perhaps should be maintained as part of the Debian
multimedia team or on collab-maint, not github.

At least for Node I reject the term ecosystem. Toxic waste dump?

Sorry, just kidding.

Very good! If server and web ui are separated cleanly, it should
be possible to write alternative UIs, right? Like a console one
for us terminal aficionados.

That's good news!

If there are Python depends, that are not in Debian or too old,
do not hesitate to ask me, maybe I can burn some time.

Btw. maybe you want to maintain buildbot (at least the parts mainly
written in Python) within the Python Applications Packaging Team
? It is also at salsa:
https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/applications, but the packages
have not yet been migrated.

Hi Martin,

2018-02-14, W. Martin Borgert:

We mentioned it a few times during the weekly meetings we have on
tuesdays. We have been busy lately with the 1.0.0 release!

https://medium.com/buildbot/buildbot-1-0-0-38c6208ac7d7

This is hard for me to estimate the repercussions as I lack good
knowledge of the JS ecosystem. It does not look like a trivial task in
any case :)

I'll try to bring this up next tuesday to see when/if this can be
considered.

That's very nice to know. Thanks! I was afraid I might need to do all
that myself :D

For now, I am focusing in having only the server and worker packages
(without any web ui) updated in debian with the latest upstream release.
There is a small limitation in pybuild regarding building multiple
binary packages from the same source package (each located in
subdirectories). I talked with p1otr on #debian-python and he told me he
may have a fix uploaded soon(tm).

In the meantime, I am struggling to make the tests run and docs build
with only debian dependencies.

Once this is done, I will work on web ui packages. Hopefully,
buildbot-www* packages will have gotten rid of some dependencies which
would make debian integration easier. I'll surely shime in #debian-js to
ask for guidance.

Cheers,

Bug#889824: iotjs debian

2018-02-14 Thread Philippe Coval
Hi,

I just shared a version at:

https://mentors.debian.net/package/iotjs

https://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/i/iotjs

Review or sponsorship is welcome,
No lintian warnings reported,
I just need an uploader.

I can also relocate my git to exiting team (JS, IoT, Collab?)

https://github.com/rzr/iotjs/tree/debian

Note that upstream is using gitmodules, so I used:

tag=release_1.0
gbp buildpackage \
--git-upstream-tag=$tag \
--git-ignore-branch \
--git-submodules \
--git-no-pristine-tar \
--git-pristine-tar-commit

It built fine on Ubuntu's PPA supported arch (x86, arm, ppc):

https://launchpad.net/~rzr/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages

Meanwhile feel free to ask hints or if you want binaries
for your favorite configuration,

FYI, I originally started this work on ARMv6 (using raspbian on Pi0)

Keep in touch here or upstream's side:

https://github.com/Samsung/iotjs/issues/1389

Feedback welcome, Thanks

source-only). Once it’s accepted, the buildds will build it for all

Glad to see it in the queue, although I noticed there is “source amd64” in the
Arch column, whereas Go libs seem to have “source all”. I’d like to make sure
it’s available for any architectures Go supports. I see that dh-make-golang
adds "Architecture: any” to debian/control for programs, and it adds
“Architecture: all” for libraries. Is there something more I need to do?

Thanks,

  Programming Lang: Python
Description : internationalized usernames and passwords

If you want your application to accept unicode user names and
passwords, you must be careful in how you validate and compare
them. The PRECIS framework makes internationalized user names
and passwords safer for use by applications. PRECIS profiles
transform unicode strings into a canonical form, suitable for
comparison.

This module implements the PRECIS Framework as described in:

 - PRECIS Framework: Preparation, Enforcement, and Comparison of
Internationalized Strings in Application Protocols (RFC 8264)
 - Preparation, Enforcement, and Comparison of Internationalized
Strings Representing Usernames and Passwords (RFC 8265)
 - Preparation, Enforcement, and Comparison of Internationalized
   Strings Representing Nicknames (RFC 8266)

This package will be maintained within the Python modules team.
It is an optional dependency (Recommend) of Gajim >= 0.16.11.

Bug#883529: ITA: buildbot,buildbot-slave -- Build automation system

2018-02-14 Thread W. Martin Borgert

Dear Robin,

did the discussion about coffeescript vs ECMA6 already lead to something?

In any case, I suggest mass-file RFPs/ITPs for all needed node packages.
Then package as many as you feel like. Maybe others will help, let's see.
I cannot promise any help, because I'm already busy with other tasks.

I recommend to package all node libraries under the umbrella of the
Debian Javascript Maintainers
They have their git repo here: https://salsa.debian.org/js-team

Thanks for caring! Cheers

Bug#886514: Verdigris - header only Qt moc replacement

I have seen this article [1] long time ago (about 2016 IIRC). And provided
library was just a proof of concept. Have anything changed since that time?

Are developers going to support this library on constant basis?
Do you have examples of applications which use this library?

Best wishes,
Boris
