The website is http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdesktopenv/ and source is available from http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdesktopenv/files/src/ git://git.code.sf.net/p/cdesktopenv/code There are several potential issues to watch when packaging: -It requires OpenMotif; this means it has to stay in contrib/ for now, but according to the developers, relicensing OpenMotif to LGPL2.0 is well underway. -All patches should be MIT if possible; they hope to relicense at some point. -It is hard-coded to install in /usr/dt; this might be fixed with a simple find/replace? -The install script does not respect DESTDIR; you must patch it to package properly (the Arch PKGBUILD does this) -Needs (preferably) ksh93 (or mksh), tcl, rpcbind/portmapper, g++, libxp (!) for full build. -There's a patch to use libtirpc authentication; without this, rpcbind must be run in insecure mode. -the install script (admin/IntegTools/dbTools/installCDE) recognizes 20+ packages; if you don't use these, it still needs to be split into at least 5-6 packages: libDt*: CDE libraries libTt*: ToolTalk libraries tt*: Tooltalk executables dt*: CDE binaries; may need splitting up (make dtterm provide x-terminal-emulator; make dtwm provide a windowmanager; make dtlogin provide a display manager) Data: cde-config: including themes, icons (may require patches to put in the standard place!), configfiles cde-help: helpfiles (& perhaps manpages, if those don't go with the binaries) Data should at least be split in 2 packages, due to its large size. A full tar.xz of the install runs 120+ MB. Thank you, Isaac Dunham --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- RFP 689098 has no visible progress for a long time, so closing.--- End Message ---

Firstly I prefer to work on my own. And secondly as I said I did email the team. The response I got made it _very_ plain they (or at least the one responder, who seemed to be the only active member of the team at the end) was not interested in packaging nagios4 for debian. If the response had been "it's great to see someone else stepping up to do the work, please join us", then despite my preference for working alone, that is what I would have done. But that isn't the response I got. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

The logon into and the initial session startup on such diskless workstations can be considerably slow, because all applications need to be fetch from one server hosting the fat clients' filesystem. . The situation gets worse, if 24 computers in the same class room get switched on simultaneously or the teacher tells the students to open the same application (e.g. Libreoffice) at the same time. . However, this issue only occurs to the first student using a diskless workstation that day. Other students see all applications launch within a fraction of a second. . Reason: once an application has been launched, it ends up in the diskless machine's filesystem cache in RAM. . This package, thus, pre-loads a desktop session of the admins choice and some popular applications. It does it before 7:30 in the morning only. So, combine this package with Wake-On-LAN to make sure systems are up and the desktop session has been autoloaded (and quit) already before the first students come into the class room. . They weren't interesting in packaging nagios4, and were fine with me doing it. My point is that you maintain the package within the team, not that other members in the team maintain the package instead. Most other Nagios related packages are maintained in the team, so it's the obvious place to maintain nagios4 too. The team is very understaffed hence the lack of manpower to also maintain nagios4 along with icinga, icinga2 and related packages. Packages such as these are best maintained under the umbrella of a team, to make it easier for others to join and help. Kind Regards, Bas

Bug#894682: ITP: golang-github-sanity-io-litter -- Pretty printer library for Go data structures to aid in debugging and testing
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Anthony Fok* Package name: golang-github-sanity-io-litter Version : 1.1.0-1 Upstream Author : Sanity.io * URL : https://github.com/sanity-io/litter * License : Expat Programming Lang: Go Description : Pretty printer library for Go data structures to aid in debugging and testing. Litter is a pretty printer library for Go data structures to aid in debugging and testing. . It's named for the fact that it outputs literals, which you litter your output with. As a side benefit, all Litter output is compilable Go. You can use Litter to emit data during debug, and it's also really nice for "snapshot data" in unit tests, since it produces consistent, sorted output. . Litter was inspired by Spew (https://github.com/davecgh/go-spew), but focuses on terseness and readability. Reasoning: Needed by hugo (>= 0.38)

It includes modules for piping, fittings, pumps, tanks, compressible flow, open-channel flow, and more. The fluids library depends on the SciPy library to provide numerical constants, interpolation, integration, and numerical solving functionality. This is the first of three components of the ChEDL I plan to package, along with ht (heat transfer) and thermo (thermodynamics).
