  Description : Utility to purge timestamped snapshots from Maven
repositories

Maven 3 dropped support for non-unique snapshot versions, which had the
side effect of filling up Maven caches on developer machines and on CI
build hosts. The Maven Cache Cleanup utility scans a specified Maven cache
directory for snapshot versions and deletes all but the latest version of
the timestamped artifacts.

This package will be maintained by the Java Team.

  Description : mpris command-line controller and library for spotify, vlc,
audacious, bmp, xmms2, and others

Playerctl is a command-line utility and library for controlling media
players that implement the MPRIS D-Bus Interface Specification.
Playerctl makes it easy to bind player actions, such as play and pause,
to media keys.

For more advanced users, Playerctl provides an introspectable library
available in your favorite scripting language that allows more detailed
control like the ability to subscribe to media player events or get
metadata such as artist and title for the playing track.

~~~
The only other alternative in the repository is mpris-remote, that
doesn't work against current players like spotify.
 Tini is the simplest init you could think of.
 .
 All Tini does is spawn a single child (Tini is meant to be run in a
 container), and wait for it to exit all the while reaping zombies and
 performing signal forwarding.
Package: wnpp
Owner: Salvo Tomaselli
Severity: wishlist
* Package name: typedload
 Version : 0.9
 Upstream Author : Salvo 'LtWorf' Tomaselli
* URL : https://github.com/ltworf/typedload#typedload
* License : GPL
 Programming Lang: Python
 Description : Python3 module to load and dump data into typed structures
This module provides an API to load dictionaries and list (usually loaded
from json) into Python's NamedTuples, sets, enums, and various other typed
data structures.
.
It also allows one to dump them from typed data structures to json-like
dictionaries and lists.
.
This allows all the code that uses external data to have the advantages
of using types, and causes all errors with the data to be noticed when it
is loaded, rather than when it is used.
- why is this package useful/relevant?
I found some people on stack overflow and similar, trying to obtain this, and
implementing hacky solutions that only support very very simple types.
This library supports quite a few combinations of types.
- is it a dependency for another package?
Not for now, it's quite new
- do you use it?
yes
- if there are other packages providing similar functionality, how
does it compare?
Not that I know of.
- how do you plan to maintain it?
Github, for both packaging and upstream code. Anyone interested in
co-maintaining
can ask me to give write rights (after sending some good patches, normally)
Hi! This is actually an official Qt submodule [1] now properly developed
directly in upstream, so taking this bug for the Qt/KDE team.
I don't know (haven't checked) if the API is now stable, but we can package
it in experimental to start with.
As usual help is welcomed.
Bug#896894: ITP: libtelephony-asterisk-ami-perl -- Simple Asterisk Manager Interface client (Perl module)
2018-04-25 Thread Damyan Ivanov
Package: wnpp
Owner: Damyan Ivanov
* Package name: libtelephony-asterisk-ami-perl
  Version : 0.006
* URL : https://metacpan.org/release/Telephony-Asterisk-AMI
* License : Artistic or GPL-1+
  Programming Lang: Perl
  Description : Simple Asterisk Manager Interface client (Perl module)
Telephony::Asterisk::AMI is a simple client for the Asterisk Manager
Interface. It's better documented and less buggy than Asterisk::Manager, and
has fewer prerequisites than Asterisk::AMI. It uses IO::Socket::IP, so it
should support either IPv4 or IPv6.
If you need a more sophisticated client (especially for use in an
event-driven program), try Asterisk::AMI.
The package will be maintained under the umbrella of the Debian Perl Group.
Bug#896910: O: libdigidoc -- DigiDoc digital signature library
2018-04-25 Thread Andrej Shadura
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA256
I intend to orphan libdigidoc. This library is a part of a bigger software
suite for Estonian eID. My current eID is expiring this month, and since I
never used it for anything serious and probably don’t intend to, I won’t be
renewing it. Not being a user, maintaining it in Debian doesn’t seem right
or fair.
Unfortunately for me, this software is not compatible with the Slovak eID
which I actually use to run a business, not even for viewing or verifying
the signed documents.
If you have an Estonian eID and would like to package the rest of the Estonian
eID suite, feel free to take this package over.
Description:
 DigiDoc is an XML file format for documents with digital signatures in use by
 the Estonian ID card infrastructure. This library allows for creation and
 reading of DigiDoc files.
 .
 This library implements a subset of the XAdES digital signature standard on
 top of Estonian-specific .ddoc container format.
Bug#859130: Feedback on lina packaging
2018-04-25 Thread Geert Stappers
Hello Albert,
Some feedback on your packaging of lina.
debian/patches/fill-in-library-path
It is 400Kb, it has
So please, pretty please, avoid the re-adding.
And where does the  'extract/' directory come from?
Afterall you are upstream maintainer.
debian/patches/added-makefile
-
Starts with
Description: added makefiles to source only package
 Version 5.3.0 only exports proper source files, where the makefile
 of version 5.3.0 refers to the generic package.
 A Makefile is added to build the binary package, and extract.mak
 is added to the extract directory.
To me that reads as
Description: added makefiles to source only package
 Upstream Makefile is not suitable for a Linux environment
 Now here a Makefile only for Debian.
That is wrong, at least it feels wrong to me.
At https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=859130#53
are a 'configure' and a 'Makefile'.  Include those files upstream so
each Linux environment can benefit from it.
forth.lab
-
In the ".orig.tar.xz" is a file 'forth.lab'.
I don't see it in the git repo.
Where does it come from?
debian/watch
There is no debian/watch file, it should.
Yes, as strong as I did express that, so strong is it meant.
.orig.tar.gz
The  .orig.tar.gz  seems to be handcrafted.
Avoid that.
Surely avoid putting a binary like .tar.gz
in a _text_ version control system.
So far my feedback.
Please keep this bugreport in the loop upon further progress.
Cheers
Bug#895514: Backport for jessie
2018-04-25 Thread Raphael Hertzog
Hello,
FWIW I made a backport to jessie too. It required backports of utf8proc
and tesseract to build. But at runtime you only need the backported
libutf8proc2.
Here are the full packages:
$ dget
https://people.debian.org/~hertzog/packages/utf8proc_2.0.2-1~bpo8+1_amd64.changes
$ dget
https://people.debian.org/~hertzog/packages/tesseract_3.04.01-5~bpo8+1_amd64.changes
$ dget
https://people.debian.org/~hertzog/packages/ccextractor_0.86+ds1-1~bpo8+1_amd64.changes
And here are direct links to the only .deb required for installation
on jessie:
https://people.debian.org/~hertzog/packages/ccextractor_0.86+ds1-1~bpo8+1_amd64.deb
https://people.debian.org/~hertzog/packages/libutf8proc2_2.0.2-1~bpo8+1_amd64.deb
