Bug#879741: RFH: phpmyadmin -- MySQL web administration tool

The reason is that phpMyAdmin 4.8 still supports PHP 5.x, while Twig
2.x does not. So it's on purpose from the phpMyAdmin side and I'm not
sure how different these two versions are..

Bug#897584: ITP: ruby-marcel -- Simple mime type detection

2018-05-03 Thread Sruthi Chandran
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Sruthi Chandran
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org

* Package name: ruby-marcel
  Version : 0.3.2
Upstream Author : 2017 Tom Ward
* URL : https://github.com/basecamp/marcel
* License : Expat
Description : Simple mime type detection
Marcel attempts to choose the most appropriate content type for a given
file by looking at the binary data, the filename, and any declared type
(perhaps passed as a request header).
 .
By preference, the magic number data in any passed in file is used to
determine the type. If this doesn't work, it uses the type gleaned from
the filename, extension, and finally the declared type. If no valid type
is found in any of these, "application/octet-stream" is returned.
 .
Some types aren't easily recognised solely by magic number data. For
example Adobe Illustrator files have the same magic number as PDFs (and
can usually even be viewed in PDF viewers!). For these types, Marcel
uses both the magic number data and the file name to work out the type.

  Version : 1.0

Description : debhelper add-on to handle Fortran '.mod' files

Modules were introduced in the 1990 revision of the Fortran standard. When the
Fortran compiler processes a source file containing a module, it produces both
an object file and a '.mod' file. The latter plays a role similar to header
files in C, since it is needed when compiling other source files which make
 use of the module.
 .
The '.mod' files are however platform dependent, and their format changes with
 the gfortran version
 .
This package provides the dh_fortran_mod command, which simplifies th
inclusion of '.mod' files in binary packages. First, it places the '.mod
files in the correct platform- and gfortran-dependent location. Second, it
adds the right dependency information on gfortran version(s).
 .
Inclusion of dh_fortran_mod in dh sequence is also provided under the name
 'fortran_mod'.
 .
This package was originally developed by Sebastien Vilemont.

Emacs Lisp as well as Python.

This package makes writing Python code in Emacs so much smoother:
autocompletion (with company and jedi), cross-reference navigation,
refactoring, project management, syntax checking (with flymake and flake8),
inline documentation, test running, profiling... The list goes
on. There are quite a few dependencies in lisp and regular userspace:

https://github.com/jorgenschaefer/elpy#quick-installation

Note that those Python packages should probably be "Suggests" or
"Recommends" as they are not all mandatory: I use elpy without
autopep8 (because I didn't know about it until today :), yapf and
importmagic (because they are not in Debian) without problems.

There are surely other IDEs in Emacs that provide similar
functionality (e.g. CEDET), but I have found elpy to be much lighter
and better targeted at Python so i don't use any other IDE right
now. Of course there are other Python IDEs out there as well, but Elpy
is useful to those, like me, who live in Emacs.

I'm not sure I have the time to maintain this on my own, so I'd
welcome some help. I'd be happy to co-maintain if someone steps up or
just delegate of course.

Description : Utility to connect to detached interactive programs

Detachtty lets you run interactive programs non-interactively, and connect
to them over the network when you do need to interact with them. It is
somewhat similar to screen, but it is less feature-rich, therefore
lighter and with less dependencies. It allows to connect to programs
running on remote hosts by mean of secure SSH connections.

Detachtty was removed from Debian because it was dead upstream. Now the
upstream development has been resumed by another developer, so it is
sensible to repackage it.

FYI: I started to package this some years ago and at that time the
jameica stack combined EPL (Eclipse Public License) and GPL
dependencies. This might have been solved in the meantime, but you
might want to check this first.

Bug#897633: ITP: bolt -- system daemon to manage thunderbolt 3 devices

2018-05-03 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org
Owner: jbi...@debian.org

Package Name: bolt
Version: 0.3
Upstream Authors: Christian Kellner, Red Hat
License : LGPL-2.1+
Programming Lang: C
Homepage: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/bolt/bolt
Description: system daemon to manage thunderbolt 3 devices
Thunderbolt 3 features different security modes that require
devices to be authorized before they can be used. The D-Bus API can be
used to list devices, enroll them (authorize and store them in the
local database) and forget them again (remove previously enrolled
devices). It also emits signals if new devices are connected (or
removed). During enrollment devices can be set to be automatically
authorized as soon as they are connected. A command line tool, called
boltctl, can be used to control the daemon and perform all the above
 mentioned tasks.

Other Info
--
Required for GNOME integration with Thunderbolt. Initial GNOME Shell
support is in GNOME 3.28 (in Buster). The GNOME Settings
(gnome-control-center) integration will be in GNOME 3.30 which is
scheduled for release in September.

See
https://christian.kellner.me/2018/04/23/the-state-of-thunderbolt-3-in-fedora-28/

Not many people have Thunderbolt 3 devices yet, so if you do, please
let us know how well this feature works.

Initial packaging was done by Sebastien Bacher in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

I intend to help maintain this package under the Debian freedesktop.org team.

Packaging is at

Bug#897637: ITP: networking-bgpvpn -- OpenStack virtual network service - BGP VPN

2018-05-03 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Thomas Goirand

  Version : 8.0.0
  Upstream Author : OpenStack Foundation
* URL : https://github.com/openstack/networking-bgpvpn
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : OpenStack virtual network service - BGP VPN

Neutron provides an API to dynamically request and configure virtual networks.
These networks connect "interfaces" from other OpenStack services (such as
vNICs from Nova VMs). The Neutron API supports extensions to provide advanced
network capabilities, including QoS, ACLs, and network monitoring.
 .
This package provides an API and Framework to interconnect BGP/MPLS VPNs to
Openstack Neutron networks, routers and ports.
 .
The Border Gateway Protocol and Multi-Protocol Label Switching are widely used
Wide Area Networking technologies. The primary purpose of this project is to
allow attachment of Neutron networks and/or routers to VPNs built in carrier
provided WANs using these standard protocols. An additional purpose of this
project is to enable the use of these technologies within the Neutron
 networking environment.
 .
A vendor-neutral API and data model are provided such that multiple SDN
controllers may be used as backends, while offering the same tenant facing
API. A reference implementation working along with Neutron reference drivers
 is also provided.

Note: this package is being used in puppet-openstack, and therefore, I must
make it available in Debian so that puppet-openstack CI can gate with it.

Ert-runner is only required for one of Elpy's self-tests; all others
were made to use dh-elpa directly. Additionally, I now believe that
ert-runner should not be used to run tests on buildd or autopkgtests
because it could hijack dh-elpa's IO and backtraces similarly to Cask
(see #837922 for more info).

I'm unsetting myself as owner of this bug because I believe it would
be a better use of time to work on making Elpy's
`elpy-shell-send-region-or-buffer-should-notify-of-removing-main` work
with dh-elpa directly than to package ert-runner.

Sincerely,
Nicholas

Description: Scannedonly is a samba VFS module and a scanning daemon
that ensure that only files that have been scanned for viruses are
visible and accessible to the end user.

Scannedonly was developed because of scalability problems with
samba-vscan: high server loads when (the same) files were requested
often, and timeouts when large zip files were requested. Scannedonly
doesn't have these problems, but it does introduce some other issues.
Choose the product that suits you best.

As samba since samba-3.5.0 have always incleded the VFS modul you need
only daemon. The default daemon uses clamav.

* Package name: Bio++ ('omics' components)
  Version : 2.1.0
  Upstream Author : Julien Dutheil
* URL : http://bioweb.me/biopp/
* License : CeCILL
  Programming Lang: C++
Description : The Bio++ libraries for Bioinformatics

The Bio++ project aims at developing efficient and extensible libraries for
comparative evolutionary biology. The libraries implement published algorithms
and models for biological sequence analysis, implemented in a fully
object-oriented way. Five libraries are already present in Debian (libbpp-core,
libbpp-seq, libbpp-phyl, libbpp-popgen, libbpp-raa, libbpp-qt), as well as two
set of programs using these libraries (bppsuite and bppphyview).
These libraries and programs are regularly updated. This RFP is for two new
libraries, dedicated to genomics analyses, namely libbpp-seq-omics and
libbpp-phyl-omics.

nice!

Sure, reuse everything you find. Also feel free to take over
swt-paperclips and swtcalendar, which are already in the archive.
I'm no longer interested in jameica myself, but I wish you good
luck!

I use this package, so I'll adopt this as a member of the Debian
Emacsen team. Thank you for maintaining it all this time :-)

Cheers!

I would like to assist in maintaining this package. This would be my first
package so I am an inexperienced maintainer.

Bug#897672: ITP: python-pyfftw -- a pythonic wrapper around FFTW, the speedy FFT library

2018-05-03 Thread Drew Parsons
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Drew Parsons

* Package name: python-pyfftw
  Version : 10.2
  Upstream Author : Henry Gomersall
* URL : http://hgomersall.github.io/pyFFTW/
* License : BSD
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : a pythonic wrapper around FFTW, the speedy FFT library

pyFFTW is a pythonic wrapper around FFTW, the speedy FFT library. The
ultimate aim is to present a unified interface for all the possible
transforms that FFTW can perform.

Both the complex DFT and the real DFT are supported, as well as on
arbitrary axes of abitrary shaped and strided arrays, which makes it
almost feature equivalent to standard and real FFT functions of
numpy.fft (indeed, it supports the clongdouble dtype which numpy.fft
does not).

Operating FFTW in multithreaded mode is supported.

pyFFTW is BSD-licensed and should not be confused with python-fftw, a
GPL-licensed python module with the same aim of provider python
bindings to FFTW3. Or python-gpyfft, which provides bindings to the
OpenCL FFT library clFFT.

This package will be maintained by the Debian Science maintainers (who
also maintain FFTW3 itself and python-gpyfft)

Description : model building program for macromolecular crystallography

Coot is a program for constructing atomic models of macromolecules
from x-ray diffraction data. Coot displays electron density maps and
molecular models and allows model manipulations such as idealization,
refinement, manual rotation/translation, rigid-body fitting, ligand
search, solvation, mutations, rotamers. Validation tools such as
Ramachandran and geometry plots are available to the user. This
package provides a Coot build with embedded Python support.

This package will be maintained by the Debian Science maintainers.
